THE SMASHING SEVEN
My applaud to Ms. Tessa Carr for an amazing page-turning thriller. The story has a large number of characters to keep up with; is a mystery, suspense, with danger, and more. It is also a story that is the relationship of several couples, but especially of Dr. Matthew Hart and his wife, Meg.
The story will start with Meg anxiously preparing for her ten-year high school reunion and then attending and meeting up with most of her friends. As one of the cheerleaders, she is part of a group of girls that were dubbed, the smashing seven. Ten years later, and there is still cattiness by one, and the more that Matt sees and learns, the less he is amused.
“One of my responsibilities, princess, is to keep you safe. It’s one I treasure. But in order to do that, you have to be honest with me. Doesn’t that make sense?”
The plot will include the missing of one of the smashing seven who didn’t attend the reunion, and then lunch invitation to Heather’s restaurant, The Blue Lion. Soon after, the horrific death of Chelsea has everyone on edge, and then one by one, the girls are coming up missing. It is enough to have Matthew and his wife, Meg, and Dr. Scott Stone and his wife, Nikki, to accept a safe place at the home of Lieutenant Mason Wallace and his wife, Stacy, who attended school with them.
The chemistry between Matt and Meg is a beautiful love story that includes a D/s DD marriage. He gently pushes her boundaries when he knows it is for her own good. I love the way he talks to her, encourages her, and there is no doubt, he adores her. Keeping her safe is his priority when the girls go missing—and after what happened to Chelsea, he knows this killer is dangerous.
The story will keep the reader guessing, in suspense, and on edge as life and death hangs in the balance. Will the killer strike again? With the disappearances of several of the smashing seven, who will be the next target? Will the case be solved before it is too late?
With this being a new series, Cape Danger, I look forward to the next story.

This was a most enjoyable romantic mystery by Tessa Carr with what was definitely a surprise twist at the end of the book. It was also one of the best depictions of what a domestic loving dominant/submissive relationship should be that I have read in quite a while. The tight storyline increases the suspense as it moves toward what readers assume is going to be the end, but oh no, Ms Carr definitely throws the reader for a loop with her final reveal. With the exception of Matt and Meg, the other characters are more background than anything else. This is a somewhat late voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout for Blushing Books.
This amazing well-written, page-turning thriller has great characters and a good story. This story has a large number of characters to keep up with, it has a mystery, suspense, danger and romance. I cannot wait to read more about the couples and go back a re-read their stories. A good buy

AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER!!!
Holy schinitzel! Tessa waxed the base, strung the link and lined the bow weaving a web so intricately and tight until everything else ceases to exist. She absolutely nailed all of the emotions swirling through, running rampant unchecked, fusing this baby together sleek, shiny and tight. Pushing forward with such perfection escalating this baby to staggering heights with it’s thrilling storyline and gripping plot. The skepticism, revelations and speculation along with perplexing situations, shenanigans and nerve racking drama sets the pace for this chaotic ride that blasts this bad boy wide open. Add in distress and turmoil and you have the recipe for one block busting, prize winning dynamo. Jumping hoops, hurdling trials and tribulations that tests our characters in ways they never saw coming. The personalities are well matched, blended and balanced flawlessly. The scenes are so graphically detailed it paints an incredible backdrop that feels as though you’re right there with them. Fantastic job Tessa, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Wow. This story held me spellbound. Once I got started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen next. I’d like to say that the revelation of the ultimate villain of the book shocked me, but I’d had that suspect earmarked fairly early on. I’m going to credit my suspicious nature that trusts no one for the correct identification, because the author very carefully buried the clues where they weren’t obvious. I adored Matt. He’s the perfect alpha protector, and it’s easy to see in his every action how much he values his wife. Meg quit often made me want to tear my hair out. She’s sweet and nurturing and I could all too easily sympathise with her self-doubts. But heaven help me, she has a lot of “too stupid to live” tendencies that even Matt’s discipline can’t cure her of. I loved the way this book ends and it makes me very curious to see what’s coming next.

Couldn’t put it down.
The Blue Lion by Tessa Carr is a story of seven women who reunite at their high school reunion and one by one each disappears and are all presumed dead. Wow!! This was a suspense-filled thriller from page one. I received an ecopy of this book and in my opinion only, it was a page-turner that I couldn’t put down. For me, the only thing I didn’t care for was how one of the women’s husbands was overly dominant often times forcing her into submissiveness. The author did a great job in creating the surprise ending which left me practically speechless.
