Greyson
Like a pretty feather, Emerson Jane Banner drifts into my bed the very night I quit my band. Her kisses are a sweet drug, but I don’t get her name before she slips out the next morning. Months later our paths cross unexpectedly. And yeah, maybe I don’t remember her, but she’s my newest addiction.
I make myself a promise. I won’t let her get away this time.
Emerson
Greyson Finch shattered my innocence, showed me desire, then kicked me out of his hotel room. I never thought I’d see him again after that night, but somehow, he finds me. Here’s the problem. He doesn’t remember me. Doesn’t remember our kisses. Or how he made me beg for each one. And maybe I hate him, but I’ll use this arrogant rockstar like he once used me.
I make myself a promise. I won’t let him break my heart again.

I don’t usually read contemporary romance, but if it’s April Moran I’ll continue to read this genre. I was hooked from the beginning and could NOT get enough of this book! The characters were real, without the cheesy lines that you hear from other authors/genres. It was like watching a movie in my head. I devoured this book and I can’t wait for another one!
The Bloodfeather Promise ARC Review
4.5 Stars
For the love of rock and everything hot this book introduces you to Greyson Finch. Grey doesn’t do love. He’s a rock god and gets what he wants and whoever he wants or so he believes. He’s cocky, arrogant, and a total hot mess that is until he comes across Emerson Jane Banner. Emerson is sweet, smart, sexy, and dangerous. The problem is when they first meet Greyson was so messed up he doesn’t even remember Emerson, but she remembers that unforgettable night and the hurt he left her with. Greyson’s in a downward spiral and needs time away to get his mind back into the music and less into the drugs, alcohol, and women. He ends up in Sea Cove where he sees and becomes fascinated with Emerson. The need and chemistry between these two is unreal. I loved the characters and the sensual moments it all left me wanting more. At first I will admit I despised Greyson but soon in time fell in love with him. Emerson was delightful and I could feel her turmoil and confusion in if she should get involved with Grey or not. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series to read more about the other characters especially Dylan. *Also I absolutely loved the playlist for this book. Some bands I have listened to. Others I haven’t heard of until now and I’m happy to say I’m a fan of a few more bands.
This story starting off the Seven Seconds Novel series is so amazing! It had me gripped from page one! I haven’t been able to put it down! I’ve begun dipping into contemporary romances lately, and when I saw this suggested book from Amazon and realized it was from April Moran I grabbed it!
Greyson is completely lost! He’s high on drugs, alcohol, and God knows what else when he meets Emerson! Only he never knows her name. Only that she slipped away from him after their night together.. 15 months later and he meets her again! Only he doesn’t know it’s her! They date, get to know each other for 3 months. Until band mates show up unannounced and everything gets brought to his attention.. Through their heartache and misunderstanding Greyson finally comes to terms with all his hurt, anger, and his friendship with his friend! Absolutely loved this romance! April did such an amazing job with it!April Moran
I don’t know what I was expecting when I started this book, but I was immediately drawn into Greyson and Emerson’s story. It took me a while to warm up to Greyson, but Emerson’s confidence in Greyson was heartwarming and made me see him in a different light. A great story and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
I wasn’t sure about this book at first, but after a bit, I was enchanted and did not want to put it down. This is my first time reading April Moran, but I will be adding her to my list of must read authors. Greyson is a rockstar, and as such has the ego and addictions that go with it. He also has been more out of control since his brother passed away. Emerson is in love with Greyson, and one night has a chance to meet him. She decides to go against her normal self and enjoy the evening and try to forget all the bad that has happened in her life. Greyson and her share a hot, steamy, sexy night, and he seems enchanted with her, until he gets a phone call. He tells her to leave, so she does…but he really wanted to spend more time with her. He remembers her smell and taste and dreams about her. Emerson is heartbroken, but moves on. Greyson buys a house and moves to the small town Emerson lives and works in. He sees her and is enamored of her…and eventually addicted to her. He calls her Feather, which was a nickname he called her the night they were together. Perhaps subconsciously he knew it was the girl he had been looking for. Did fate bring them together? Will Emerson tell him they have met before? Will they end up together? Or will their pasts tear them apart? You really need to read to find out. This book has lots of up and down moments, and you don’t know what’s next. I loved the ending, and how advice given in a not so great moment, was taken. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series, which I believe may be about Dylan. Hoping to learn more about Emerson and Greyson as well.
The Bloodfeather Promise, my first read by April Moran and it was truly amazing. I loved every chapter, word and song lyric.
Greyson Finch, in a drunken haze forgets everything from that night, except the way she smelled.
Emerson Jane Banner, goes out to forget every horrible thing that has happened recently, but she remembers everything about that night – including the way he broke her heart.
Months later, in a little seaside town their paths cross again. She is trying to not show interest and stay away but he is drawn to her and can’t stay away.
Fate has it’s plan.
Will Greyson ever remember their night together?
Will Emerson be able to stay away from him?
All will be revealed.
Told in dual POV, The Bloodfeather Promise is a fast paced, captivating read. After the first chapter I was hooked and needed to know how the story would progress. I loved the descriptive settings, it made me feel like I was living the story alongside the characters.
A new series from a new to me author and I’m already looking forward to reading more.
Absolutely loved this amazing book all the feels
Intense emotional broken beautiful love story of Grey and Em
Please tell me they’ll be more
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it. Greyson has a tortured past which only adds to his stereotypical arrogant spoilt rockstar attitude, Emerson had ‘loved’ him from afar and then they met. Following this meeting we see so much more of Greyson and how he’s conquering his demons, and we get to watch him pursue someone for a change. I loved the fact that Emerson stayed true to herself, I found this to be a great quick read without too much drama but it definitely held my interest and I want to know more about them and the other Seven Seconds boys.
April is one of those authors whom I always buy… loved her two previous books. Really enjoyed this one, read it within a few days which to me is always a sign of a good book!
Two opposites from totally different worlds & how they go about falling in love, complicated pasts & futures…
I love April’s writing style, the words flow and are joy to read… can not wait until her next release
Get this you will not regret it April Moran
I have to say I was unsure of this book when I started it, but by the time I got half way through the first chapter I was hooked!
Greyson Finch is a rockstar, he uses alcohol, drugs and women! He is hurting and blames his best friend and band mate for the death of his brother! Things are not going well for the band, and it’s all down to Greyson!
Emerson is a sweet girl who wants one thing – one night with Greyson Finch! When the chance comes she takes it, but the following morning he tells her to leave! A big mistake on his part as he can’t forget the woman he spent the night with!
15 months later they meet again, she knows who he is, he has no idea who she is! He eventually talks her into going on a date with him, and over a few months they get to know each other. Emerson eventually builds up the courage to tell Greyson the truth but never gets the chance, as someone does it for her! Both hurt and upset, she walks away after giving him a bit of advice!
Can Emerson and Greyson find the strength and courage to work through the hurt and upset? Who will make the first move and will they realise how strong their feelings are for each other before it’s too late!
I went into this book not knowing what to expect. Another typical rock star story? Well, kinda. In the beginning, there was some rock star egos floating around. But something happened when Emerson came into Greyson’s line of vision and he was never the same.
What a great book. The author did a great job of bringing the characters to life. I highly recommend this book.
He doesn’t remember his Cinder-effing-rella.
Grayson Finch is on his way to rock bottom in the most catastrophic of ways, and even though the others in his band are almost as badly behaved, they don’t want to go down with him. Groupies fight dirty to get dirty with him and he’ll let the winner service him publicly. After all, Seven Seconds are the new big thing, and they’ve been given a free pass in debauched behaviour, hell, it’s almost expected of them, but, Grayson has lost it. Booze, drugs and sex feature more highly on his list than producing any kind of quality music, and when one night he is absolutely out of control, his band manager sees something in Emerson, Grayson’s newest fixation, he begs her to go home with him. For Emerson, it was a dream come true, until Greyson the next morning he was a total pig. Truly, his character was someone I absolutely couldn’t like.
Emerson was tired of living on the safe side of life. She’d had a bad few months, and was encouraged to have that one night where she acted out of character. But, it didn’t end well for her. After a heady night with the rocker she’d crushed on for years, she thought she’d be prepared for the next morning. Nope. It was so much worse. 15 months later, she’s living her life at home again, when that man walks into her bookstore and refuses to leave her alone. He didn’t remember her, or the way he’d treated her. There was something about her, that had him fixated, and she became his newest addiction.
For me, this book from April Moran is the epitome of why I read romance, especially Rocker romances. It’s a simple recipe, uncomplicated, but absolutely full flavoured. The descriptive writing had me visualising every moment from the debauchery happening under the table at a dive bar, through to Sea Cove where Greyson is trying to make headway with a very reticent Emerson. There’s something about her that he can’t let go of, even while he is trying to interpret a foggy memory of a night 15 months ago. It was a night that changed him and was the catalyst for the band, tired of his drug fuelled behaviour, to shove his @r$e into rehab.
Told in my favourite dual POV, the story isn’t all out there from the get go and told in a linear fashion. There is a 15 month gap, representing Grayson’s’ lost memories, subsequent behaviour and rehab, and Emerson expands the picture as she reveals to us what happened that night between them. I absolutely enjoyed this book, and I wanted to find out their story, even as I didn’t want it to end.
April Moran is a new to me author, but, she’s given an indication that Dylan’s story will be up next, and I know that I will be waiting. 4.5 Stars.
Took alittle to get into, but once you do it is a good story.
Wow, this was a great book!! Greyson and Emerson are a great couple and what they go through to get their HEA, is mind blowing. Greyson is your typical, angst driven rock star who has many demons that only Emerson can make go away. Their journey to happiness will definitely have all your emotions on overload, so have the tissues handy. This is the first book I have read from this author but it will not be the last!!
Well this started off to be one of those books that you know you have read playboy rocker meets up with someone and things change well this is not like anything Ive read. It does have some stuff in it that your like wow and oh dear, but for the most part I wanted to know what was going to happen when I turned the next page. Great way with words and making us feel what was going on.
Speechless
Once again, I am taken on an emotional ride of ups and downs. April Moran has ripped my heart out and put it back together again. As with the Duke from her Taming the Duke, I hated Greyson Finch only to be led down a road of twisted, and emotional turmoil to love him and want to keep him for myself.
Throughout this book I found myself with my hand on my heart more than once. I’ve even messaged April telling her how much I didn’t want to turn the page because I was fearful of the next downward plunge into emotion that was waiting for me.
This writer, this woman, has a way with words making her one of the finest wordsmiths I’ve ever read. I am proud to call her my friend, and I am so proud that she has accomplished such great works of art.
This book will not disappoint you in any way. She never disappoints me with her talent.
So I don’t know what I’m more impressed with.. the fact that I actually made it 66% into this book or the fact that someone actually wants to be with Greyson. I’m sorry I like my rock stars bad but this one takes it to a whole other level that I didn’t like. He has a massive temper tantrum which included a knock down drag out fight with a band mate. He’s high on drugs and has sex with Emerson after he treats her like a whore the whole night and morning. She’s so work driven and obsessed with Greyson that she lets him in again a year later. He hasn’t changed at all. He’s still a whiny baby who hasn’t grown up at all. Someone like him I would never be attracted to even with his celebrity status. Neither character in this book is strong unless you count the friends of Emerson who talk her out of it but she still does it despite it. Also the other thing I couldn’t quite understand was her friend Noah. He hates Greyson for what he does to Emerson that one night but when they get cozy again, he’s fine with it. I was expecting him hitting Greyson or him acting like a big brother and telling him how he feels about him. I got neither. I was really looking forward to this one because rock stars are a weakness to me but this one disappointed me greatly.

I would classify this as a rockstar second chance romance.
This was interesting read to me for the fact that I disliked Greyson for about 50% of the book. The reason? The man was completely broken and because of that he was vile and cruel to not just Emerson but to everyone. Emerson was bit of a confusing character in that she was both meek yet bold, so you never really know what she is going to do. Her first night with Greyson went about sexy and horrible as you can imagine. Also felt like she lived in a dream world with the way she acted with Greyson the first time they met.
Then fast forward a year and we have a whole new Greyson who has changed but is still 10% buttmole. Emerson plans to make him pay for what he did since he doesn’t remember her, but things don’t progress the way she planned or assumed they would.
Possible Spoilers (no storyline reveals):
There were parts where it felt like the book was dragging. I like the story but to me it felt like it slow downed and focused mostly on the bad stuff (Greyson’s escapades, drugs, fighting, etc) and gave quick views into the good. The awaited big blow up happened at the end and the resolution was even more quicker the problem reveal. I loved the fact that the book had the slow burn feel to it even if everything did speed up drastically at the 70%. Best way to explain it, is that I was at 95% fearing that it was going to be a cliffhanger because there was no way you could fix everything that needed to be fixed in the right way in that amount of time.
I am interested to see what lies ahead for the rest of the Seven Seconds band members.
This was my first book by April Moran and I was blown away by it and she is going to be one of my new go to authors! This was a phenomenal read and brought out so many different emotions in me that I literally could not put it down once I started!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book
