Addie doesn’t need the risk that comes with Zane… that is until her perfectly orchestrated life takes a sudden turn … sudden turn and she’s left with nowhere else to go.
She’s sunshine and charities, he’s bullets and ecstasy.
Will he step out of his hell and into her bed knowing it’ll mean that he’s dragging her into the depths of his criminal world?

I met Bull, the president of the Devils Dust MC, a few years ago and he was easy to fall in love with. When I saw that his grandson, Zane, was getting his own book, I knew I had to read it. How could I really pass up this chance? And I loved everything I learned about Bull’s legacy.
Zane knew, from when he was very young, that he wasn’t like other boys his age. He had a darkness that lived inside of him, which thrived on violence. Luckily for him, his father had his own beast and helped him find an outlet. Nothing silenced his demons quite like killing did… except Addie. She was his sunshine. The blinding light that brightened all of his dark spots. But a relationship with her was forbidden. It was all well and good that when they were growing up, they were thick as thieves. However, their parents felt that when hormones were at their highest, they needed to make new rules. Therefore, they weren’t allowed to be with each other. And yet, both Zane and Addie wanted no one else but each other.
“I need you. You pushed the voices in my head to the side. It was just you and me tonight.” Our eyes lock, our souls and bodies bare of any secrets. “I think maybe, I just needed you this whole time.” – Zane
There was tons of drama, a bit of angst, a series of violent events, and finally we were given hints of Zane and Addie getting their chance to be together. While this couple is at the start of something that could be beautiful, I’m left wondering what will happen to the character that started this journey for me in the first place. What will be Bull’s fate?
“My love for her is louder than my demons. Maybe, just maybe, I can tame them enough to be with her.”
I read my first Devil’s Dust MC book back in 2014 and I’ve been a fan ever since. I was very excited to hear that the next generation, the ‘Brats’ were getting their own series as well. The Blood That Drives Us is about Zane, the son of Shadow & Dani.
Zane learned very early in his life that he wasn’t normal. “Normal people have no idea how majestic the darkness can be as they fear the unknown. I like the challenge of what lurks in the shadows.” But, at the same time, he liked his sunshine too. Addie was the light to his dark and he was drawn to her when he was very young. They seemed to have an unexplainable connection that drew them together like magnets. Unfortunately, when they became teenagers it was made clear to them that anything more than friendship was against the club rules.
Zane & Addie experienced a traumatic event in their youth that they carried into adulthood, reliving it again and again in their nightmares. There was a rival club involved that is still a threat to the Devils. While Zane has no fear for himself, he would do anything to protect Addie. Though he wants her, he feels that he doesn’t deserve her. Nor does he think he could watch her with someone else…and let them live.
Addie has wanted Zane for years. Thinking to herself, “My soulmate has been within arms-reach my whole life, but we have to sit silently and wonder what if. What if we break the rules?” I’m an instigator and I was behind the scenes trying to fan the flames between them to find out what would happen. I have no shame, I was ready for them to go for it so I could drink wine, eat popcorn, and be entertained. I had no doubt that alpha Zane in bed would be as hot as his temper.
I really enjoyed my reunion with the Devils. I jumped right back into the suspense of their club business and loved hanging with the old ladies as well. I’m excited to find out which ‘brat’ will decide to break the rules next. The line forms here…
Finally we get the kids of Devils Dust MC’s stories! The Devils Dust MC series is one of my favourite series so to say I was excited would be a massive understatement.
We start off with Zane and Addies story. Zane is the son of Shadow and Dani and he knows from a young age there’s a darkness inside him. The only thing that quiets the chaos in his head is when he’s near Addie.
Addie is Bobby and Docs daughter and she is the complete opposite of Zane. Where he’s dark, she’s innocence and light. They shouldn’t feel the connection they feel, they know that the club won’t let them be together but they share a bond that is unbreakable.
The Blood That Drives Us gets The Devils Dust MC Legacy series off to a fantastic start. The sexual tension between Zane and Addie is unreal, Zane is everything I like my bikers to be and Addie is a sweetheart. There’s danger, threats are made against the club and we see the Devils Dust men doing what they do best…protecting their family.
I loved this book. Zane is everything! I have read every book by this author and this is MN Forgy at her best. I couldn’t put this book down and can’t wait for more from the brats (and their parents!).
The Blood That Drives Us is a continuation of the Devils Dust MC series. It starts the story of a second generation. It can definitely be read as a standalone.
Zane and Addie grew up together in the club, but are completely different. Zane is all that is darkness and Addie is a bright light.
Their parents discourage them from pursuing their attraction to each other, even going so far as to change club laws.
“She’s everything I’m not. A light that shines in my darkest corners revealing my inner beast…”
It has been a long time since I read the Devils Dust series and I was afraid that I might be lost if I didn’t remember much any more, but that was not the case at all. A complete story, complete entertainment that kept me interested from start to finish.
-4 Stars!-

Dark MC’s are some of my favs… this one definitely does not disappoint. I literally JUST finished reading this book and I blown away by its ending. WTH! How can this author do this to me? I might hate her a little bit right now.
Piper and Saint are AMAZING in all their beautiful brokenness. Life has kicked them in the teeth but the MC world has protected and help them survive. This couple has secrets, scars, and most importantly SEXINESS. WINK!
This story gives you enough information as you travel through its telling to keep you asking questions. It starts off with a slow burn feel to it, setting its stage.
Holy heck, the second half of the book you need to buckle up and hang on. Yes it downshifts a couple times, giving you more details that leave you reeling.
OMG SO GOOD! I want to tell you all. My mind is spinning because of this book. I am overwhelmed, somewhat devastated and needing to know more.
Ok here is a little taste. These words… eek, they are haunting me now. “ , . ? ’ ’ .”
All I can say is everyone needs this book especially if you love the MC reads as I do. I need to shut up now in order to stay spoiler free. Yikes I want to discuss all. I might need therapy. Okay shutting up. Oh one last thing. Haha. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
wow, just when I thought the Devil’s Dust was done, I was given this amazing story by an even more amazing author. The words she put down was wow. Once again the characters are wonderful, everything about them was hott, the good, the bad and the ugly. It was one story that you can’t help but keep turning the pages over and over again. A romantic page turner of a story that keeps you on the edge that’s for sure. Each page had something new that had you coming back for more. It had its own brand of twisted that hooked you right in. This story does pull at your emotions but towards the end every tear and laugh is so worth it. MUST READ!!!!
The Devils Dust MC continues with Zane. Zane’s Grandfather – Bull, is the President of the Devils Dust MC. His father is also a member. Zane has always had a problem being around others. He feels better after he has killed something, he feels he is unleashing something inside him. And could be classified as a serial killer, based on what he has done inside and outside of the club. Ha father has tried to teach him how to control his inside beast.
Addie, is another child of the MC club. She is 6 yrs older than Zane. However, they have always had a connection between them. They have always been close. With the MC they have always abided by the ‘non dating’ rule that their fathers set in place years ago.
Addie and Zane were always near each other whenever they went out. They have a connection but never did anything about it. Addie left to go to college in Texas, for 2 years. During that time Zane never found happiness, he was dark without his sunshine.
Addie comes back to town and is now a teacher at the local high school. Addie knows something is wrong with the principle as he is always looking at the teenage girls in a way he shouldn’t be.
Zane wants to protect Addie but doesn’t know how to. He waits on his motorcycle for her daily. He wants to be close in case something happens at school. When something does happen he is there for Addie.
I did receive a free ARC copy. I am freely leaving a honest review.
OMG why??? My jaw had dropped down and screaming from the top of my lung. I have been waiting for the series.. Devil Dust MC had stealing my love since Shadow and Dani stories.. ‘The Blood That Drives Us’ had delivered the story with vengence and pack of surprises.
ZANE and Addie were a childhood crush… Nothing would be normal when you were growing up in a MC family with many perks.. Zane was a complicated man. The young character with so much anger, passion and darkness between his soul. Addie was the only elixir to release him. Addie, the bravest curious woman! I love the ‘Addie-Zane’ relationships.. the two unfitted people who tried to save each other..
Mn Forgy had never let me down. Her series were always pack with punches.. full with unexpected scenarios.. This story was about family, love and loyalty. I am in serious Awe with the complexity from the plot.. Sooo GOOOOOOD with the crazy emotional love. I am hoping for more stories…
The Blood That Drives Us was my introduction to the Devil’s Dust MC and what a fantastic way to meet the “brats” of the MC.
From the start Zane and Addie’s story grabbed my attention and kept me riveted. Zane is everything I love about bikers. He’s fierce, loyal and has a darkness inside of him that only one person can quiet. Addie is Zane’s complete opposite, a total sweetheart and the light to his dark.
Early on these two are drawn together and form an unbreakable bond admist the fast paced world they grew up in. I realized quickly their road to happiness would never be simple. It was full of twists and turns that kept me guessing constantly while my emotions were all over the place.
I devoured this book in one sitting because I just had to know how their story would unfold and now I am eagerly awaiting to see what’s in store next. If you love riveting, fast paced and emotional MC reads then you’ll definitely enjoy The Blood That Drives Us.
I am really bummed right know because I really, really wanted to love this book. I LOVE this author and the world that she has created but this story did not live up to the others in this series for me. Was it good? Yes, it was decent, just not over whelmingly wonderful like I expected.
The first half of the book (up to 48%) was so full of editing errors that it was a choppy read. I had to stop every few pages to re-read a sentence to make sure I understood the meaning. There was incorrect grammar, missing punctuation, repetitive words and weird sentence structure. It does drastically improve after 48%. There was a lot of repeating the same sentiments and thoughts and that got annoying.
The female characters (the three younger ones, not the older women) all acted so young and juvenile. I expect strong women from this author and did not feel that with these characters. Addie was six years older then Zane but acted ten year younger. I also felt like Zane was just a carbon copy of Shadow and not really his own character. I felt like I was reading the back history of Shadow rather then the story of his son. Zane’s growth and revelations about himself (and Addie) were the only reason I continued to read this story.
Now, the over all plot was great and I loved the connection the main characters had and built between each other. Had the story been purely their interactions I would have definitely rated the book five stars.
I am not over whelmed with this book and think the author lost some of her magic (for me), but I will continue to read her works in the future. I have never loved every book an author has written, so I guess this is my miss from this author. I look forward to the other kids books. I encourage others to read this book as I seam to be in the minority and the story does fit with the others in the series.
First, am I the only one that wishes Amazon and Goodreads would get with the time and allow us to rate half stars? I can’t be! So The Blood That Drives Us is more of a 4.5 star rating for me. It didn’t quite squeak up to the full 5 stars but I felt 4 stars was too low for this killer of a book… hence, I want half star ratings please! I love the darkly deliciously and coldly erotic words that M.N. Forgy writes! I read her books and wait as patiently as possible and then listen to the audiobooks. These audiobooks add another level of dimension to her stories… the characters feel real for me. I love these books about the second generation from the couple’s from the Devil’s Dust MC series. For TBTDU we have Shadow and Dani’s son, Zane; Addie is Doc and Bobby’s daughter. They are forbidden to have anything except a friendship according to club rules. But you know what they say… rules are made to be broken!
And break the rules they do. Zane tries to fight what he feels for a while but he can’t fight the pull towards Addie. Addie has no intentions of even trying to fight it. She’s been in love with Zane for years and has just been waiting for him to come around. I am seriously obsessed with the way Zane thinks of Addie. She’s the light to his sunshine… she brings the happiness to his life. Addie feels so protected with Zane. They have a gorgeous relationship that’s been built over the years. It’s so strong and built on being there for each from the start especially when life has been hard. They both experienced something in their childhood that left them both a bit shaken and drawn to each other.
M.N. Forgy pulled out all the guns here. The characters are developed so thoroughly that you feel slightly scared (read turned the hell on) by Zane. He’s so ferocious especially where Addie is concerned. I knew I was going to get a story that felt full-on action and left me feeling winded but what I didn’t see coming was the feels in this story. It was way more emotional than I expected. As a reader, you just feel so invested in these characters and their lives that you care about what’s happening next more than you probably should. I loved getting reacquainted with characters from previous books too! It’s always such a great to go back to other books and people.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.

Oh. My. God. I never thought that there would be a couple that could top Shadow and Dani, but Zane and Addie have done it. I mean he is Shadow’s son so is it really that surprising? I have struggled for days after to write this review and it is because The Blood That Drives Us blew me away.
The darkness, the angst, the way that Zane and Addie are drawn together; the sexual tension between them, the forbidden, just all of it is the perfect combination and has me already wanting and needing more. I refuse to spoil this book in any way, if you have read the original Devil’s Dust MC series then you know then you know who both of their parents are, their stories and how the past shapes the future of the MC. Zane may have a darkness to him, but Addie is his sunshine, without her the darkness would consume him.
I am already planning to read the original series all over again, I have missed those characters and now with The Devil’s Dust MC Legacy series I want to revisit some of my favorite books. While you could possibly read this without reading the original series I will beg you to read where it all started, I think it makes this book so much more if you have.
The Blood That Drives Us is a continuation of the Devils Dust MC series. This book starts the story of the 2nd generation. It can definitely be read as standalone. The next generation book in the Devil’s Dust series gives us Zane ( the child of the 1st couple Dani and Shadow) and Addie’s story. Addie who is the daughter of Doc, Bobby’s Ol’ Lady from book 3. So what we get in this book is to read about the grown up ‘brats’. This story is about Zane and Addie. A bond that started when they were just little that kept getting stronger as they grew older. Something happened that drew them apart as they grew older. Addie comes back to town not thinking she has any chance with Zane but fate takes them down one heck of a bumpy road. Twists and turns along with steamy suspense plus sizzling chemistry is rolled all into this read. Ms. Forgy writes this story where , we, the readers get so involved that you dont want this story to end. I completely loved the way the characters interacted and the plot was just amazing!!! Zane is all gritty, dark while Addie is sweetnes and light. They are yin to yang. This story was phenomenal and I can’t wait to read more from the next Gen.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
Zane and Addie has always had a bit of a spark between them, even with her being older. They bonded when he was 10 and circumstances changed everything they knew. Zane is scary mean, he’s built like a brick wall, will defend those he loves with everything that he has. He thinks he’s broken and she thinks he uses that as an excuse. She’s tired of it and is going to take matter into her own hands.
What they want goes against club rules but is what they feel for each other worth the chance? Will they be able to change the rules before someone gets hurt? With the way that sparks fly off of these two they better hurry and decide. She calms him when he needs it most, otherwise the beast wants to come out and play and he’ll leave destruction in his wake.
When someone outside the club starts messing with the club will they be able to stop them before it goes too far? Will they be able to keep everyone safe?
Back in 2014 when I first started reading ebooks, I came across the Devil’s Dust series by M.N. Forgy and fell in love. She gave me my first taste of motorcycle romance and I still haven’t found any books in the MC genre that have even compared to hers and it’s still one of my favorites to date. So when this author announced that she was doing the Devil’s Dust Legacy series about the next generation that features my beloved badass bikers’ kids, I squealed in excitement.
The Blood The Drives Us is a suspenseful and angsty story about Zane (Shadow & Dani’s son) and Addie (Bobby’s stepdaughter with his ol’ lady, Doc). Addie is six years older than Zane, but they both grew up in the club together. They survived a traumatic event when they were younger and formed a bond over the years because of it, making them grow closer and develop feelings for one another.
Zane had always known, even from a young age, that he wasn’t “normal”, and Addie was his light, his sunshine, that lit up his world and made him want to be a better person… but there was a stupid club law that was agreed on that wouldn’t allow Zane and Addie to be together, so they were left pining after each other from afar for years.
“It’s as if she’s so pure and forbidden I can’t help but want to break the rules and see what happens when Heaven and Hell tangle together.”
I loved Zane’s dark, edgy and all alpha character. He proved to be just like his dad, Shadow, but maybe even a bit more dangerous than his father was. “I’m the blood of my father’s motorcycle club. Violence is sewn into my soul, and I get excited at the cost of another’s heartbeat. I’m an outcast.”
Addie took a bit for me to warm up to, but when her and Zane finally broke the rules and gave into their feelings, they had a sizzling chemistry that made her character grow on me. I guess she needed Zane to bring out the bad girl in her, and she proved to be just as bad when she whooped ass on the clingy club whore that wouldn’t leave Zane alone.
M.N. Forgy definitely knows how to deliver a suspenseful MC romance with a healthy dose of angst, drama and the alpha heroes we all love. I’m thrilled that she decided to keep up with the Devil’s Dust crew and write the Legacy series and I loved revisiting some of my favorite characters… and I can’t wait for Delilah and Piper’s books to see what kind of trouble those little hellions are gonna get up to.
It’s not necessary to read the Devil’s Dust before diving into this book, but I highly recommend that you do to enjoy the full effects of the Legacy series, and because that series is awesome and you shouldn’t miss out on it.
Yes the Devils Dust MC is back and what a way for the series to come crashing into our lives. I am a firm fan of the DD so when I heard the story was going to continue on with the next generation of DD I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the series and let me tell you this book does not disappoint. It has so much grit, suspense, action and drama, everything a great MC story needs.
Zane is the newest prospect for the DD, being Shadow and Dani son there is a lot of expectation riding on his shoulders, but there is something dark residing in the depths of Zane’s soul, a monster that can only be fed through violent acts. Zane rides free but his demons are always in his mind tormenting him and their is only one silencer or is there?
Addie has always known there was more to Zane than what you can see. Even from a young age she could tell he had a darkness within him, but a fateful day at the beach allows it to surface and she fears their lives will never be the same. From that day forward their relationship is altered and their are pieces of their souls that reside in the other.
Years and stupid decisions have separated them but once they are thrown back together can they fight what their souls are feeling. This story will have you on your knees begging for more and also crying “NO” into the universe once you read the end. Luckily it is only for now!
Shadow was my favorite Devils Dust member until I just fell in love or lust, whatever, with Zane. Y’all he’s dark, scary and tormented. He is definitely his fathers son.
Addie is Bobby and Docs daughter. Zane is her friend , protector and their chemistry is crazy. They can’t be together, the club won’t allow it. These two break rules and will have you totally engrossed in their story. Immediately pulling you into their world. The writing is fantastic and I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next.

Zane Kingsmen gives us a small glimpse into how he came to be. Addie Addington let’s us into the family side of the MC. Once I got the first introduction to our main characters, I knew that that I was interested to see what this author had in store for the reader.
We get the point of view that I’ve never seen before. We think of children as being innocent but when you live in the world of an MC it seems they grow up a lot faster. Zane’s reality is so different from previous books that I’ve read. That’s a good thing because then you would probably think to yourself, “oh, I’ve read this before” or “it’s so similar to…” Then you’d probably give up and stop reading. Committing that dreaded DNF. That’s not possible here.
Make no mistake; this is an emotional story to read. That was just my impression after reading the Prologue. My impression was right on point. There were ups and downs, twists and turns, all through the book. I knew that I eventually I would get to the end so it wasn’t a story that I could put down. I had to find out what was coming around the next corner. In a way the ending was a surprise but it also got me excited to see where our author is going to take this series – I can’t wait.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
The first next generation book in the Devil’s Dust series gives us Zane (fittingly, the child of the first couple Dani and Shadow) and Addie’s story. Addie being the daughter of Doc, Bobby’s Ol’ Lady from book 3. Zane has a very dark side to him that led him to eventually drive Addie away, along with the club’s rule that as children of the club they couldn’t be together, Zane felt Addie would be better off far from him. The pair pined for each other though, and now years later Addie has returned and Zane won’t let her go again. He might not get the choice though if an old enemy of the club has their way.
This was a really good story. It referred to Shadow being dark and Zane being just like him, but I personally don’t think Shadow was dark. Zane on the other hand is as dark as dark can be. I get why he wanted to keep Addie away but they obviously needed each other and that was really nice to see their relationship develop and how Addie calmed Zane’s demons. I did feel that maybe the author though the characters were younger than she has said they were as Addie is almost 30 in this book but in some respects she was still treated very much like a teenager. That could just be my view on it though of course. And those final scenes.. please say there’s going to be more next gen books Missy so that we can find out what happens with all involved. Another great read in this world and I really hope there is more to come, I give The Blood That Drives Us 4.5 stars.
