This series continues to be entertaining and I can’t wait to see what happens to these girls next. Great idea for a tv series. I received a free review copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This review is for the audio book.
I am really enjoying this series and as the story unfolds it gets better and better. The main reason I am enjoying it so much is the four girls and the way they interact with each other. Just when you think everything is better and they will be able to work together something happens and it sets them back and that is before the demons get involved. The story also has a side story from the past which is being revealed a little bit each book and involves the girls ancestors, which adds more background to the girls and who they are or have the potential to become. I can’t wait to start the next book.
A trip to a magic shop doesn’t go as planned and the girls get kicked out before they can learn more that first names of there ancestors. It’s back to the library for the girls to do some more research but demons are lurking near by. The demons are proving to be smarter than they look and instead of going after the girls directly they target there loved ones or secrets that they want burried. With family ties strained for some of the girls and worry over others, some of the girls are using there powers to much and others not enough, it is a careful balance and if the girls can’t get it right the demons might just beat them to the next seal.
The narrator is good and I like her laid back manor of speaking but she also knows how to build up the tension.
I don’t know what it is about this series of books, but they really speak to me. Not that I have magical powers or can speak with the dead, but this writer’s style and strong characters have a depth to them that touches the reader.
The Blood That Binds: A Suspenseful Urban Fantasy for Magic Fans (Twisted Book 4)
is a vivid and page-turning story with more twists and turn that never stop. This story goes more in depth with each of the girls and how they have come together. Such great storytelling from Jo Ho. This would definitely make a great TV series. Bring on the next installment, please!!

Danger. Secrets.
These girls don’t know what’s coming for them and that scares me! I feel for these girls as each find it harder to deal with their problems. Now they are being purposely hunted. I love the magical aspect and really can’t wait to see more scenes with them exploring their powers. Each story dives deeper into certain girls lives and I really have come to see some of them as my favorites. The story flows seamlessly and beautifully to capture my emotions and keep me on the edge of suspense. When I reached the end….well that cliffhanger really left me hanging!
The Blood That Binds is the fourth short serial in the Twisted series.

Books 1-4 done! Where, oh, where is book 5?!
The story continues and with each passing page, the plot thickens, darkens and becomes more TWISTED than ever! Despair, hope, comradery, misunderstandings, knowledge gained, knowledge evading… These and more can be found in this episode! As usual, I couldn’t put the book down! The book is titled The Blood That Binds, but it should be called The Plot That Binds, because my hands, imagination and eyes were all glued to the pages as I raced to the cliffhanging end! Yo ho, Jo Ho!
Each installment is getting more and more intriguing. I am hooked on this series and I’m thinking how this would be a fabulous movie or television show. I love this story because the characters are so real to me. People who I have been and girls who I have lived with. This installment has us even deeper in trouble, not yet realizing it yet but struggling with the task they must do. I can hardly wait for the remaining installments.

This edition of the series is one that goes more in-depth for each of th girls. Learning more about them and trying to find out what brings them together. Trying to figure out how they are all linked n this day and age.
They each have been given a name of an ancestor. Now they have to gifted out what their name means to them and the recent development of powers.

The Blood That Binds #4 – Darn, another cliffhanger, but of course. Started a little slow for me, but quickly picked up the pace. Intriguing and suspense filled as the story progresses along with an interesting, developing plot.
The back stories of all the characters are getting meatier and the evil is setting his play into motion affecting the young ladies mysteriously. This is a must read series, but it’s easier on the reader to have all five books, the wait in between is hard. 5*
What Doesn’t Kill You, Episode #1 – Totally awesome!, and it’s just the first episode. It’s a cliffhanger but it’s written in episodes, which I totally dislike in any book. That pet peeve aside, Ms. Ho has done a jam up job with the start of a new series. This genre is right up my alley and I love everything I’ve read by this author. The story starts with the introductions of the main characters and touches on their background. I’m sure as the pages grow, the characters will develop more with time and experiences. So far, I like all of them, and I usually don’t care for this age group, but I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the story. The last chapter pretty much gave a big hint of the future of these four young women and the roller coaster ride their lives will be now.
I wish I could tell what happened to Christian, but that’s a spoiler; I let you enjoy the story with fresh eyes and no heads up. The story line can go anywhere from here and I know the ride will be fast paced and twisted. I thank the author for the clean language; yes, real people do not use vulgar language, whether they’re Christians or not. 5 stars even though it’s in parts – made for the screen, not to make more profits.
Beware the Signs, Episode #2 – Intense. Intriguing. More players join the original cast as the storyline develops. The four young women start to recognize their special abilities as the evil begins. Well written with interesting characters and a plot that grows with suspense and twists. As with the first episode, it’s a cliffhanger. 5*
See No Evil, Episode #3 – Intriguing. Suspenseful. Dangerous. Things are getting worse in this well written and well thought out episode. A lot of the darkness is interacting with the four young women. It’s easy to get immersed in the actions of all involved. I love the way the present is mixed with Salem in 1693. The flashbacks aren’t excessive; just appearing to build the present’s horror or mirror happenings of 1693. 5*
I am really enjoying the development of the story, and every chapter reveals more about the characters and the mysteries of their powers and where their powers come from.
Once again Jo Ho continues to leave us with answers that bring yet more questions. Since this is written for TV it not only makes sense but is an awesome quality in her writing. I can’t wait to find out more about Eve and how the girls can finally work with their powers to stop the plans others have. Can’t wait for a brilliant person to pick this up and make a show out of it like it should be. Wake up TV people.

This is such a good series. It’s like having 4 Buffy the Vampire slayers in one story. Interesting characters that make you feel for them. Fast moving plot. Well written with a unique story line. Lots of things going on with each character. No sexual content and no violence. I’m enjoying these very much, but I do wish they were longer.
