Rowan is surprised to find the boy he thought would become his cabin boy is really a young woman. He is instantly attracted to her and that changes his plans for her. As their relationship progresses, he opens up to her like he hasn’t to anyone else. But there are people and events that will try to sabotage this relationship. Can they get passed it all and get their HEA?
I really enjoyed Caragh and Rowan’s story. Who doesn’t love a good pirate tale? One reason that I like stories that take place on a ship is that the main characters are always in close quarters. This usually creates a different type of dynamic than if they were falling in love on land, which is always a nice change of pace.
Even though I really enjoyed this story, it had a little too much BDSM in it for me. I just ended up skimming over those parts. I don’t mind a little spanking, but when he got a belt out and used it on her, that was too much for me. So be forewarned if it is not your thing…
A PIRATE’S LIFE IS NOT FOR THEM ANYMORE
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Rowan McNeil, the Blond Devil, becomes a pirate after being accused of killing his father. He captures Caragh, a smuggler leader and intends to make her his cabin boy, believing that she is a lad. Upon finding out that she is a woman, they consummate and later marry. Their journey leads them through many different situations, one of which is kidnap and attempted murder. Things turn into both Rowan and his cousin, Ruari, wanting to end their pirate ways. They return home and find things were not as they seemed when they left.
The first book in the Pirates of the Isles series a well written story with a good storyline. I want to read the next book. Smuggler Caragh Pedrick and pirate captain Rowan MacNeil ‘ the Blond Devil’ they meet when he mistakes her to be a boy and takes her as his cabin boy. I enjoyed seeing this steamy story come together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rowan escaped the dungeons of his home with the help of his cousin Ruairi. Falsely accused of killing his father, the clan turned against him. He and his cousin were indentured on a pirate ship for several years before they captained their own ships. Caragh, a smuggler leader from a small village and dressed as a lad confronts Rowan and his pirates in the smugglers cave and is taken back to the pirate ship as the new cabin boy. That was Rowans intention anyway until he discovers the lad to be a lass with fight and spirit. Rowan loves the challenge of taming this fearless lass and is surprised at her reactions to his method of taming. Caragh is abducted and Rowan is left for dead with his ship set on fire by a jealous and furious woman who had lost her control over the pirate captain. The Blond Devil rose from the flames and rescued his lady and her abductor received no mercy. This is a story full of adventure, treachery and passion. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it. If you like Alpha dominate males and spankings then this is one book you will enjoy reading.

What happens when sexy pirate Rowan MacNeill meets up with the smuggler Caragh McLeod? Lots of great page turning fun. Caragh is a smuggler working to keep her village solvent, but Rowan thinking she is a lad snatches her from her village and brings her to his ship. Needing to get back to her village, Caragh fights with everything she has, but things take a turn as these two fight with each other, and then for each other. A fun and steamy read, **I was gifted a complimentary copy of “The Blonde Devil of the Sea” by Booksprout** My review is based on my reading. 4.5 Stars!
The Devil’s lady.
What a fun story to read a smuggler and a pirate cast together for adventure, danger, and love. In this tale, it is true dressing like a man just may get you into trouble as Caragh finds out when Rowan takes her on board his ship. This also leads to some steamy scenes very adult kids. I loved the characters in this piece bold, courageous, strong-willed, fearless, and complex. There are great twists too. This well-written piece was a pleasure to read I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Let me start by saying that I’ve loved all the books I’ve had the chance to read by Celeste Barclay. They are all so original and offer up the heat! But the Blond Devil took the heat to a whole new level and I AM HERE FOR IT!!! I often find that when it comes to HR you often have to make a choice, you either have to find a book that has a rich story line or find one that offers up the steaminess. They don’t often go hand in hand, and that is what I love most about Celeste’s books. They are the perfect blend of a rich and engaging story with plenty of the yummy steaminess I love! Rowan and Caragh were such an electric couple! There is just something about two strong and independent people finding in each other the love and trust needed to let their guard down to be vulnerable with one another that makes for an excellent read! I’m really looking forward to second book in this series that fills in the other side of the story with Rowan’s cousin, Ruairi and Caragh’s cousin, Senga.
Caragh has set up a smuggling operation to help her village survive. When pirates steal her goods, the captain abduct her as well.

Rowan’s and Caragh’s story is a rip-roaring pirate tale with Highland roots and plenty of passion. Rowan captures Caragh during a raid believing he is getting a cabin boy. Instead, he got Caragh, a, feisty spitfire of a lass that stole his heart. Though she had been taken against her will, Caragh soon realized she loved Rowan. The road they shared was filled with doubts, jealousy, betrayal, and lots of action and passion that you’ll not soon forget. Don’t miss this one!

The Blond Devil of the Sea by Celeste Barclay is the first book in her new Pirates of the Isles series. This adult novel is HOT!!!
Pirate captain Rowan McNeill, known as the Blond Devil due to the number of men he has sent to hell, mistakes Caragh Pedrick for a boy and kidnaps her to replace his deceased cabin boy. Caragh’s gender and fiery personality are more than Rowan expected, but he finds her intriguing. Rowan introduces her a world of carnal delights beyond what she could ever imagine. The couple embark on a life of adventure and find themselves facing conflict after conflict in their quest to live life on their own terms.
Ms. Barclay has delivered another well-written romance novel. Unexpected plot twists are the norm in this book and will keep the reader on the edge of their seat. The details and dialogue are vivid. The characters are well-developed, strong, vibrant and smart. The sometimes complex interpersonal relationships between the characters are smoothly integrated and add depth to the story. Scenery is smartly incorporated into the storyline, with the sea being as much a character as the humans. The novel is well balanced; romance and plot are equally valued. This is definitely a non-traditional romance, but it is interesting and completely engaging. Be aware there is some very explicit content that might not be appropriate for all readers. I give The Blond Devil of the Sea 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to readers of steamy historical romance.

What happens when a lady smuggler meets a ruthless pirate? One steamy read that was so so hot that’s what.
Caragh Pedrick is used to men on the wrong side of the law since she runs her Cornish village’s smuggling ring. While he likes her spirit, his palm itches to lay down the law with the woman who’s invaded his cabin and his life.
I know the author has a warning for the explicit content of the book but if you don’t like very steamy reads then this isn’t the book for you. However this is far more than steam, Rowan has earned his moniker as the Blond Devil but the more time he spends with Caragh the more mellow he becomes & the more he falls for her. Caragh once captured does what she must to remain alive but she soon discovers a softer side to Rowan & soon falls helplessly in love with him. Together they are a formidable couple who have to deal with revenge as well as returning to their homes. I found it to be a captivating love story & thoroughly enjoyed how they overcame all the obstacles in their path to a HEA
This was a fun read with nice story and alpha pirate. The various scenes were entertaining, but some of the backstory felt long and I found myself skimming through it. The character interactions were excellent, and the supporting characters were fun as well. Especially the other crew members. The villain was unexpected and I appreciated that!
Loved the story. It is full of action and danger. It starts with Rowan capturing a young lad, to serve as his cabin boy, but he turns out to be a she and from there it becomes a great adventure along with great danger. Its the story of the pirate who falls in love with the smuggler and the adventures they have along with the dangers that follow them. There are a lot of surprises including Rowan’s real identity and who his family is. This is a great story, well written, entertaining and keeps your attention. I would highly recommend this book as a great read.
The path to love doesn’t always flow smoothly. Rowan & Caragh must battle their way through such a turbulent attraction that we hope will finally lead them to a happy life together. Action, intrigue, secrets and romance make this a book well worth reading.

LOVE PIRATES!!
Can love exist between a handsome pirate and a beautiful, strong-willed woman smuggler? Absolutely. Their story will blow your socks off. Heaped with tons of adventure, trust issues, a battle of wills, and lots of scorching romance and I do mean scorching. Can a life time of bad deeds be forgiven and forgotten? If you enjoy these elements in a book than this one is for you. It is indeed a page turner. I read entire book in one night. Celeste creates great characters and great elements that you love in all her books and this one is no exception. I highly recommend it. Warning: if you are offended by explicit sexual content this book is not for you.

It’s an action-packed ride on a pirate ship full of trail and tribulations that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat until the very end. With a incredibly strong plot that brings this read together perfectly. Celeste Barclay has written unforgettable romance with a strong plot, remarkable emotions, unforgettable characters, with setting descriptions and action sequences that are wonderfully vivid which brings this read together perfectly and will keep you captivated from the moment you begin the journey with Rowan and Caragh until the very end!. Caragh, a feisty smuggler meets her match in pirate captain Rowan blonde hair, blue eyes brawny Highlander. Sparks fly from the first with heated tempers and feelings swirl like a raging storm at sea between and Caragh and Rowan then blaze with an all consuming passion! A heart pounding story full of swashbuckling adventure, bdsm, drama, suspense, and trials and tribulations, turmoil, and while the suspense builds and tensions escalate with the twist and turns abound that makes this one outstanding story!
First and for most if you do not like Erotica, dominating strong male characters and sexy scenes with open lust and passion this book is not for you.
I have read many books by Cheleste Barclay and they are sexy but not over the top like this one. She said it was more then any of her book, I would rate the sex at 10+
If you can put that into the story and move on you will have a wonderful read of adventure, lust, romance, and brutal facts of life at this time. Will they find their way to love and understanding each other. Both have hard secrets that made them what they are now. Their is so much going on in this story. It builds very fast after Rowan McNeil raids a smuggler’s hold and steals what he thinks is a young lad. He was going to use him as a cabin boy, he finds out quickly that the lad is a young women. Caragh Pedrick leads the town folks on raids so that they can have food. She may be small but she is one strong lady with the most amazing wit and way of looking at whatever is going on at the time. This causes Rowan a great deal of amusement thru the story. Others have commented on what happened with her younger brother, and it is a very sad part of the story. But it is also what pirates do . His cousin Ruair is a large part of this story and makes it all the more interesting.
I hope you give it a try and see the whole story of how two lives are changed forever.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
t was a good story, but I wanted to love it, I just couldn’t. I didn’t really like the beginning of the story she’s a virgin. Jump straight into bed because she has no other options, but she doesn’t give he a chase to give her an option. so she loses virginity. Somewhere in the middle of the story, her brother gets killed and dies and no one seems to care! I think you should just take out the part about her brother. I kept waiting for it to get great it just didn’t

Very sexually explicit.
I enjoyed the story very much. The beginning was very intriguing and I was almost instantly entranced in it.
It slowed a little into the next couple of chapters but picked up again and I couldn’t put it down until the last page.
The characters were well rounded and interesting. I enjoyed it very much.
