Since stabbing her brother, Alexandria Reed has lived at Compton Academy, a mental institute disguised as a school. But it wasn’t her fault…was it? Her night terrors had become as real to her as breathing, and she could no longer distinguish reality from her nightmares. After a long road, her doctor has declared her well enough to leave Compton and rejoin her family in the outside world, but she’s … world, but she’s worried she won’t be able to handle it.
Turns out she’s right, and the monsters are back. The sights and sounds of the horrific creatures snarling and snapping cause her to regress. To hurt people.
She’s strapped down to a bed again, the victim of her own insanity. With the help of Dr. Marcel, she’s hopeful she can once again put the nightmares to rest.
Only things aren’t as they seem. There’s something off about the doctor, and she’s having strange dreams—even stranger than the monsters that haunt her. Dreams of a reality where she’s happy and content, but also full of magic and danger.
In the end, she will have to choose one reality over another.
But where does she belong? In the safe, normal reality—or the one that calls to her insanity?

What is real and which reality would you choose if you had a choice. Would you choose one where you were totally loved no matter how what you had done or would you choose to be where your punished because you feel what you did deserves that. Apryl Baker has once again pulls me into a book I could not put down. I binged read all the books in this series, however this is my favorite of all three. At times I wondered which was the true reality and if I was left with Alexandria choice would I’ve chosen different. Well developed characters that leave you wanting to know more about them and how they reached this point. I hope there are more books with these characters. Apryl Baker has had me hooked on her books since reading ghost files. A must read!
When I started reading I was so confused but it the best way. It was one of those where I had to check the other books to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. It was a mind bleep in the best possible way. What is real and was it a dream? While reading and Alex is in the ward we start reading things that are somewhat familiar to us. Oh yea but that was, or s wait that is what so and so says. It’s like we are given a puzzle and pieces are missing and we are told we have to work it. And chapter 7 I was shaking my kindle cause OH MY GOD!!!! You think you have an idea of what is gonna happen next but you have no idea. I need more. Four stars from Apryl Baker
Love this book. The twists and turns had me on edge to how was this going to turn out, then when i started thinking it was gonna be bad another twist. Really enjoyed this 3rd book of the series. Great job Apryl you had me going, really good read.
I am really in love with this series and the how this particular book was written, I couldn’t put it down! All weekend that’s all I could do was think about reading this book, and just keep reading it when I got the chance! I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves books with wolves and witches, etc.
This story-line was so perfect for this series. Even in book one, I kept asking myself the same thing we all do when our MCs have been institutionalized – is this real? or is she just imaging it all? Is she a powerful witch with extraordinary friends, or is she locked up and crazy as ever? With some very creative twists and turns, you find the answers. Some will surprise you! Just like the first two books, I could not put this down. I recommend reading this series, definitely have to read them in order, no stand alone’s here. Fast reads that blend the story well and best yet, so not predictable! Will keep you questioning and excitedly wondering, ‘what’s going to happen next?!’
I devoured this book. I have loved everything that Apryl Baker has written. This book was no exception. I loved this book from the beginning. This entire series was binge worthy. Ms. Baker was able to bring the characters to life for me. This book has everything you would want in a paranormal book. I would recommend this book, but you have to read the first two books in the series first. You will definitely need the backstory to understand what is happening.
I’m a huge Apryl Baker fan! I thought this was a really good final installment to the BL. I will say that I was really confused in the beginning but quickly guessed what was happening. It did feel a bit rushed after that though. I do love how she finally found her strength and really grew as a woman in this one. The relationships between her and her ‘family’ were awesome and I’m glad they all came together like that. While I could see this going on for so many more books – i think it was a good and complete ending that didn’t leaving me hanging or cut off.
Witches. Shifters. Vampires. Necromancers. Magic. None of it exists. Or does it? Alex struggles to determine what is real, and what may be delusions and hallucinations in the conclusion of this gripping trilogy. Fabulous story that will keep you thinking long after you have finished the book. You MUST read the previous two books in the series prior to reading this one!
I have absolutely loved this series and would most definitely recommend reading them. As with the previous two books I could not put this one down. The twists and turns in this book kept me guessing right until the end. I’m hoping this book isn’t the end for Alexandria and her family!
Apryl Baker is one of my favorite authors to date. She took me on a total mind spin with the next installment in her series, and I’m still questioning about what I read! PLEASE READ THE FIRST TWO BOOKS BEFORE THIS ONE. It’s completely needed! 10/10 would read again.
This series gripped me in a way that few have done before. The characters feel like family, and reading each installment felt like coming home. I completely got lost in this world and coming back to reality was hard. The characters are well written. The plot was believable, I was just as lost as Alex was for the first few chapters of this book. Each page literally kept me hooked and ready for the next. I turned the last page and almost cried because I wanted more. Superb.
I am a HUGE fan of The Bloodline Series. If you are into supernatural beings and fanciful stories then this series is for you. it will keep you on your toes and having you questioning what is or is not real. Give it a try it won’t disappoint.
You will be brought into a super natural world filled with witches, demons, shape shifters, vampires and more. Alex lives in a super natural reality struggling to accept her new found powers and figure out which world is real.
If given the choice between what you know and what you think you know, which would you choose? The series has held me from the beginning and this book does not disappoint. The book has several twists that leaves you wondering (no spoilers!) . Apryl has done a fantastic job with the entire series!
Another fantastic and highly recommended read by Apryl Baker! She created a world(s) that will keep you turning pages late into the night. A must read!
This is the 3rd book in the Bloodlines Series. Alex has spent years in a specialized school that caters to people with mental health issues. There is not definite explanation for her nightmares and paranoia but she believes she must be schizophrenic with out the voices, until she sees a purple eyed boy that doesn’t exist and keep telling her about a reality that she desperately wished could be true. But she knows that’s the more she Kong’s for and believes in that alternate world the less health she is and the less likely to be released.
I really felt for Alex. I struggled with her trying to believe which was her real world. I started to wonder is the first two books where her mental issues were all chalked up to special abilities was her real life or if that was a giant delusion serving to comfort her in the hospital. It’s so much easier to believe that it was all a delusion vs. being supernatural except you really want the supernatural, and the love, and the sense of peace and home. Loved this book, and this series.
Alexandria Reed has been a resident at Compton Academy since the day she viciously stabbed her older brother during a break from reality brought on by suppressed memories of an event that happened to her as a small child. As Alexandria works to get to the root of her nightmares and shadowy half glimpsed memories, she begins to question her sanity and her grip on reality as people that only she can see appear to her telling her THIS is not real, that there are people waiting for her to wake up.
A twisting and turning story that keeps you guessing if Alexandria will choose the correct reality or will she choose wrong and trap herself in a dream forever!
Apry has us all questioning our sanity along with Alex in this third installment. What is real and what is a dream? Once I started reading I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough. It kept you hooked from the first page until the very last. If you have not read any of Apry’s books my only question to you is….What are you waiting for??
I could not put this book down! I was on the edge of my seat for the first half of the book waiting to see what was real and the second half holding my breath to see what new direction it was going to go in. Apryl Baker did such a great job writing this in a way that makes you doubt everything you’ve read in the last book and makes you question reality. I read it twice because there was so much information and I didn’t want to miss a thing!
Another great story to the Bloodlines Legacy series!!!
I have been addicted to this series since book 1…and now this latest story to come out does not disappoint! I am so hooked even more so now. I loved reading every single moment of it and still can’t get enough. This is pretty much how i always feel after reading anything Author Apryl Baker writes haha! She sure knows how to write awesome stories. I highly recommend this story as a must read. It really is GOOD! You won’t be able to stop reading until the end!
