This author always it would seem knows how to grab the attention of a reader with the staying power to keep them. In this paranormal feast you get Rafe whom knows there is something different in the air. Cara is one that has you so intrigued that you keep your attention on her and when these two combine in this you are lost to the outside. I like the original on her with this being the spice. The heat that builds between makes you squirm at times. The story carries you along with the danger and the drama interwoven. The history that is sprinkled makes you fully aware of it all. You become so intertwined you become part of the pack yourself. This one is superb with all that is out there being one that when finished happy you selected it.
The dark is strong in you, wolf girl 5 WOLF DESIRES
He wanted not only to protect her, but to possess her. She was drawn to him without knowing why. The male who had been haunting her dreams lately. Did he also feel the heat? They were in some way connected. The sound of one wolf. the wolf’s mating dance. the call of the wild. WHOA! DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?? What a FAN-HOWLING-TASTIC story and then some! Linda has truly outdone herself with this book! I love how unique EVERYTHING is – the characters, the supernatural species, the abilities & powers, even the storylines/story itself! I was intrigued from the very beginning and that only deepened the more I read, pulling me into one smoking hot romance with so many different facets & layers to every bit of story surrounding it! The majestic beauty and power behind some of the lines & scenes didn’t just pull me in deeper, they shape-shifted me into Cara, into Rafe, into the story so deeply that I could see, feel, BE Cara and Rafe, truly feeling like I was living the story as them, that it wasn’t a story I was reading, but a written version of what I personally lived, experienced! There honestly isn’t too many books I have read that have exploded to life in my mind to such detail that I feel like I either really lived it or saw a movie version of it, but this book, The Black Wolf, is one of them!! YES! I abso-furry-lutely love, Love, LOVE it that much! I will even go so far as to say that this is one of Linda’s best books that I have ever read!! And that is saying a LOT as I have read & LOVED quite a few of her books over the past couple of years, ever since I discovered her! Linda is one phenomenally talented & exceptionally gifted author! Before I even finished reading the first book of hers that I bought, I knew that she was one of those rare authors that can pull you in so quickly, keep you captivated throughout the entire story, which led to Linda becoming one of my very favorite authors of all-time!!
Not your average werewolf.
This follows the daughter in Wolf Born. However, while both stories are amazing, each stands alone. Cara finds herself following the same path her exceptional mother took. She too was sent to the Miami Pack to learn to assimilate into the human world and other wolves. Cara’s first meeting was with the handsome alpha Rafe Laundau, police detective, and son of the pack alpha. Her hosts. He is her protector. However, who is the one needing protection?
The pack is strong with unquestioning loyalty. The alpha, a good leader who earns their trust. Will Cara trust him as well? Rafe quickly determines that Cara is more than a guest. Her assistance fighting the group of vampires is only their beginning.
This story will consume you. The enemies and characters are unique. Clues and changes are produced in interesting scenes that paint a picture and answer many of her questions. With her feelings for Rafe, she has a difficult decision if she should share what she learns.
I enjoyed visiting previous characters, yet was glad for the full descriptions as if in a new story. The relationships were relatable and realistic. I recommend this to romance lovers, PNR lovers, and those who have always wanted to try out the genre. This is a great choice.
