Bestselling author Daniel Silva delivers another spellbinding international thriller—one that finds the legendary Gabriel Allon grappling with an ISIS mastermind.
Gabriel Allon, the art restorer, spy, and assassin described as the most compelling fictional creation “since Ian Fleming put down his martini and invented James Bond” (Rocky Mountain News), is poised to become the chief of Israel’s secret intelligence service. But on the eve of his promotion, events conspire to lure him into the field for one final operation. ISIS has detonated a massive bomb in the Marais district of Paris, and a desperate French government wants Gabriel to eliminate the man responsible before he can strike again.
Acclaimed novelist Daniel Silva has thrilled, entertained and educated readers with eighteen thoughtful and gripping spy novels featuring a diverse cast of compelling characters and ingenious plots that have taken them around the globe and back—from the United States to Europe, Russia to the Middle East. From its shocking opening to its explosive denouement in Washington, D.C., The Black Widow reveals itself as Silva’s most timely and powerful novel yet. Following the success of his smash hit The English Spy, this electrifying thriller showcases Silva’s consummate skill and brilliant imagination, and is sure to be a must read for his multitude of current and future fans.

Silva at his best. This taught terrorist/assassin thriller follows Gabriel Alon, Israeli master assassin, as he works to bring down a terrorist mastermind.
This time Daniel Silva writes a book taken right out of current headlines! ISIS!!!!!! Once more Gabriel Allon is asked to save the world with the help of others, some familiar, some not. Will he find and destroy the mysterious Saladin!!!
This is my favorite of the Gabriel Allon series so far. It’s got a lot to say about what could and may be happening in the world today. Daniel Silva knows how to write a thriller and this really encompasses that word!!!
I really liked the female main character in this book. Daniel Silva is an artist. His books are beautiful and gripping all at once.
It was everything I wanted from a Daniel Silva book, with great Middle East drama and the characters I’ve grown to love over the course of the series. I loved the inclusion of ISIS, which I’m sure will be continued in next year’s book. The book scared me a bit with the attacks and how much they are real possibilities in terms of the flaws in the American security apparatus. The book did lose one star for the couple of moments that had me rolling my eyes at the cheesiness or implausibility, but was very good overall.
Daniel Silva is a wonderful tale spinner. I feel as if I am involved in his stories and it is hard to wait for his next book .
The Gabriel Alon series by Daniel Silva is wonderful reading; as soon as you finish one book, you can’t wait to start the next one.
Great book! Shows a good understanding of current Middle East situation.
because of the story being so in line with what is going on in the world now
The human conflict between politics and medicine as a choice for a young woman
I really enjoy all of the Gabriel Allon books, partly because the information is really interesting that gets packed into the story. Additionally, the characters are also complex and quite realistic. While the books are best read in order, each can stand alone. The author has made me much more aware of true spy-craft and all that goes into it.
Great read. Hope he gets back to this kind of book.
A good solid read
Great plot development.
