A few maimed bodies with strange marks are found on the outskirts of Tokyo. This is my second book by this author and although a quick read was jam packed full of content.
The mystery and danger and suspense in this story was awesome. Little by little I am finding that I love Kiko. She is a former japanese spy and when some gruesome murders happen which she really doesn’t want to get involved in she finds herself being drawn in when she finds out one of the victims was someone she used to work with.
I loved her strength and her bravery when faced with a society that can only be described as an awful kind of cult..Can Kiko solve the mystery behind the murders, and can she make it out alive?
Really looking forward to jumping into more adventures with Kiko. I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down once I started.
Enjoyable read.

The Black Lotus Affair is the second book in The Kiko Ochisan Adventure series by Lina Vine. This series is incredibly enjoyable. I am so glad I stumbled on to the first book, scrolling through my feed. This book has a bit of a mystery- it’s really fast paced and will whisk you away into a really great adventure which Ms. Vine has infused with action, intrigue, drama, and wonderful details. I really liked the first book, but this one allowed me to get to know Kiko a little better, making this book even more interesting, for me.
We met Kiko Ochisan in the first book, ‘In the Land of the Crane’, she’s a former Secret Agent for Japan. In this story, Kiko is drawn into a mystery to uncover what’s behind the maimed bodies with strange markings that have been discovered in Tokyo. With a link to one of the victims, a mysterious stranger, the secrets of the Black Lotus Society, murder, danger, and more- this story really takes off and Kiko will have to use all her skills to make it out alive.
As with the first book, this is a novella sized story which has a lot going on in a small space- but it doesn’t feel rushed or cut short in any way as the author choreographs everything into a smooth, and captivating read. I am really looking forward to the next book!
Thank you, Lina Vine!
The Black Lotus Affair: A Kiko Ochisan Adventure Thriller (The Kiko Ochisan Adventure Series Book 2) By Lina Vine. While short it’s still a very interesting story. Filled with mystery and suspense you are drawn back into Kiko’s world, a world that comes to life in front of you. Kiko’s character is definitely a big draw for me, I just love a female character that’s strong willed and determined when she sets her mind to something. Drawn back into her previous life as a spy she quickly learns about a doomsday cult and it’s leader that is determined to bring about the end of days sooner rather than later. What follows is a break neck race to the end with a satisfying ending. This is definitely a fun read and worth a four star rating.

The story The Black Lotus Affair: A Kiko Ochisan Adventure Thriller (The Kiko Ochisan Adventure Series Book 2) by Lina Vine is a book that includes plenty of adventure, mystery, and suspense. I loved reading this book in the series just as much as the first one. The story is one that once I started I didn’t want to put down until the end. Kiko is a wonderful character and she is one of the main reasons that I love the book and series so much. She is a strong, smart woman who once she starts down a path is determined to see where it leads her. She takes the clues that she finds and puts them together like a puzzle. If I needed an investigator she would be someone I would look to for help. I also love how you are introduced and explained about parts of the Japanese culture. There are times when reading this book that I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The story does pay attention to detail and is quick paced. A well-written book that did not disappoint. I look forward to reading more about Kiko and her adventures.

A great second book in this series by Lina Vine! I am really enjoying these books so far, I find them easy to read a full of great twists and turns. I am beginning to understand Kiko a little but more I think, I love her strength of character and enjoy seeing what she does when faced with danger. Although this book is a on the shorter side the author does an amazing job of getting all of the story in there so you don’t feel like you are missing anything.
The Black Lotus Affair is a fast paced story that had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. I definitely recommend it and I am looking forward for more from this author in the future.
This is the second book in this series. This is a short story that I read in one sitting and I couldn’t wait to see what journey that Kiko took me on this time. The twists and turns left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. I enjoy Kiko’s character. Sometimes I wonder what she is thinking with some of the things she does but she is strong and brings life to the story. In this book she brings danger to a new level for herself. I recommend this book.
