For fifteen years I was the Black Fox, the hero of Spain, the good-luck devil. I made my enemies dance to my tune and fall to my sword. The day must come when every hero hangs up his cape, and for me, it was the day I outsmarted the curse. I would not die for love, because I didn’t love the woman I married. Valeria Hernandez didn’t love me. Then I met her. Lolita. Fresh from boarding school, as … boarding school, as beautiful as a rose’s thorn and poised to pierce my heart. Little Lo is as dangerous as sin and twice as forbidden. She hates me, but she loves her Black Fox. Her savior. Her devil in black.
How he loves to hear her call him daddy.
Author’s note: The Black Fox is a novella of 25,000 words. All characters are over 18. Zacarias is married.

I don’t know what I was expecting with this story but it’s so much better! It’s sort of a re-telling of Zorro with some twists. I was on edge the whole time with anxiety and anticipation as to what was going to happen. It’s dirty, sexy, forbidden, mysterious, suspenseful, and so so good.
An outstanding read, The Black Fox surprise you with ever chapter! Brianna Hale really took my breath away with her writing. I loved the relationship between Lolita and Zacharias. Their relationship came together so naturally, their chemistry is so sexy and hot. I did enjoy reading this book, from the romance to the vigilante justice,it is an overall great novel. This author did a truly amazing job. I highly recommend it.
I enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting and this book offered several good twists. Zacharias and Lolita generate plenty of sizzling heat as their complicated and naughty relationship develops and evolves. As a true forbidden romance junkie I thought it was a good read but I also felt that it fell a bit short as far as the actual story went. I am freely posting a frank review.
I’m a sucker for DD/lg and Brianna Hale is my favorite who writes this trope!
When I realized Zacharias was married and that Lolita was his stepdaughter I had a moment of pause because adultery in books is usually a no-go for me. Anyhoo, curiosity won out and I started reading and couldn’t put it down! The whole marriage was explained to my satisfaction and I was completely wrapped up in Zacharias and Lo’s love story.
A do not miss for lovers of this trope!!!
Oh my my my! I was NOT expecting that delicious dirtiness!
The Black Fox marries out of necessity thanks to the curse. It’s better that he doesn’t marry for love and that suits Valeria just fine. Then her daughter, Lolita enters the picture and Zacarias realizes, he’s screwed.
This is a dirty dirty book and I LOVED it! I was most definitely not expecting that little twist of a surprise towards the end and it was PERFECT!
Dark fairytale with a naughty but loving twist.
Did you ever love Zorro with his sweeping sword and debonair justice? I did!
And it is so much fun seeing him come to life in this novella full of twisted sensuality, an evil curse, a man torn by conflicting desires, and a sweet young woman with a penchant for unruly defiance and hot rendevouz with masked strangers.
I enjoyed this story because the double POV shows the couple’s struggle. The masked hero who is tempted into doing despicable things by an ancient curse while he also tries to protect and pleasure the object of his lust. And the young woman who hates him while she learns about her own desires with the help of his fox skills.
It’s provocative and bold, and also retains some fairytale quality in the midst of all the steaminess. A bit on the taboo side, but the adultery is masterfully avoided.
I liked his split personality, that she is adorably sweet yet also stands up for herself, and the ending with its theatrical plot twist and the happily-ever-after epilogue.
Short and Steamy!

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
A very steamy novel about a masked hero captivating the mind of a barely-of-age girl who also happens to be her stepdad. She doesn’t know that though.
This is my first Brianna Hale read. The Black Fox was a deliciously steamy novella! I loved the characters’ dynamics inside the family. Lolita was given a frame as a role and she burst through it. She was explosive but also a tortured heroine in some way. Her relationship with her parents wasn’t the best one; she despised her stepfather. Speaking of her stepfather, he was interesting to read. He had his own struggles. He definitely lived up to his masked game and he was hot, I’ll give him that! The steam was respectably juicy (my word-choice; I claim the rights to this LOL). The story itself was a quick escape and a page-turner.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a hot masked heroes, tortured and misunderstood heroines and quick steamy thrills.
This is a little confusing and I normally love Brianna Hale’s books, but there seemed to be a disconnect with this one. It is a cross between Zorro and Snow White or another fairytale with the wicked queen and a curse. The ending was much more what I would expect and was very sweet and it is a shame the rest of the book was not as good.
