Her past. His secrets. They have more in common than she knows.Maisy is happily content with the life she’s built for herself and her young son in small-town Prescott, Montana. Her child is thriving, her business is growing, and her family is as close as they’ve ever been. But when a handsome stranger walks into the lobby of her motel, her simple life is swept up in a wave of affection for his … for his gentle heart. None of those feelings can be trusted, though. She made that mistake before with another man. The man she murdered.
Hunter was a different man when he first saw Maisy Holt from afar. He took one look at her and ran in the opposite direction. But years later, he’s back in Montana and unable to keep his distance. He shouldn’t have tried to find her but he never was good at rejecting temptation. The promise of the good she could bring into his life is too hard to resist. Maybe if he can disguise the lies and hide the deceit, he can keep her from learning the truth. Because his only chance at a future with her is by burying his past.

Love this author!!
Another great book from the Jamison Valley series.
This is a wonderful series. I can’t begin to describe the feelings, emotions and joy that comes to me when I read one of these books in the Jamison Valley series. Each is different but the characters are a constant and I love it. I’ve long admired the grit that Maisy has and the strong woman she has become. The life of a single mother is not easy. Her best friend, Gigi, was also a single mother and they have been the “friends for life” in the series. My happy dance started when Maisy met Hunter and her new life stood in front of her. Coby is her son and the joy of her life. There are twists, turns and tears in the story-line and it is a book I’ll long remember. The sensual scenes are well written into the story itself. There are heart-stopping moments and then a need for Kleenex.
I love that Maisy’s story was last. I felt like she needed that time to grow and become an even stronger woman then when we met her in The Coppersmith Farm. Hunter was swoony even though he was secretive. I love this series so much and so happy I found this author!
Light and enjoyable. Hard to put down.
A relaxing read..Romantic
A different storyline that I enjoyed and kept me interested until the end. Good Book!
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the story development.
I read this book as part of the entire series, which I thoroughly enjoyed!
Just kinda rambled on. Couldn’t finish.
The bookworm problem with a great series is trying to pick your favorite. But I think THE BITTERROOT is the winner! I’ve been dying for Maisy’s story since the first book. She is such a strong and resilient woman. The relationship that grows not only between Maisy and Hunter but between Hunter and her son Colby was a pleasure to witness. I can’t wait for THE CANDLE PALACE but in the meantime I’m going to dive into another one of Ms. Perry’s series.
I loved this series so much, until this book. Maisy was so weak and always passed the blame. Grow up!
Hunter and Coby made this story, they are the reason I forced myself to finish it. Mind you, it took me a week to read, which is a really long time for me. I just couldn’t handle Maisy, I wanted to smack some sense into her.
The epilogue tied everyone together and updated us perfectly. I loved it.
I can’t wait to start Devney’s next series.
Love Love Love this book so much- the last in the series. Finally time for Maisy Holt’s story. She has been through a lot in this series from her son’s father, being kidnapped and taking over the Inn. She has put her heart and soul into the Inn and being a good mother to her son. Hunter shows up at the Inn to rent a room for a month while his home is finished. Hunter has secrets he is keeping from Maisy while falling for her and her son. I love Hunter and Maisy they are the perfect sexy match. Love the whole family of Jamison Valley, sad it is over. But Must Read for 2018
What a phenomenal read from Devney Perry!
Hunter and Maisy are two characters you won’t be able to get enough of. They have this dynamic to them, that makes their relationship unique, while at the same, they are so relatable, that their relationship seems so natural. When you add in the fact that Maisy is a single mom, your heart becomes protective of her, and you feel as though you need to make sure that everyone who comes into contact with her, has both her and her son’s best interests at heart. When you meet Hunter, you will realize that things aren’t always too good to be true.
I simply cannot get enough of this fabulous author! If I could give this book a million stars I would. I can already tell, that it is going to be one of my favourite books of the year!
5/5 Stars!
Wow, I have loved every book in this amazing series. However this one is my favorite. It was just the right mix of angst, romance and suspense. I really loved that at the ending we got a glimpse of the lives of the friends in the future.
I loved everything about this book, Hunter and Maisy are my favorite characters from the entire series.
This was simply put a perfect story for Maisy and I could not be more pleased with it. Terrorized and hurt beyond imagining by the father of her son in the first book in the series she is trying to move on. But burying herself in her inn and being the best mother she can be has not stopped the nightmares and flashbacks. She is lonely, but resigned to her lot in life whilst watching all her friends and loved ones living their happily ever after.
Until a beautiful , stunningly gorgeous man walks into her inn and takes her breath away, leaving her a babbling mess. They have an insatiable attraction that cannot be denied and she slowly let’s him in, despite his unwillingness to speak of his past. She decides to give him time. Unfortunately time is not on their sides and it runs out before he can share his past with her.
Can she forgive? Can she love him and trust him despite it all?
.Maisey and Hunters story is the perfect ending to the series and Devney Perry might just have saved the best for last.

I’m not crying, you’re crying. What an amazing end to this awesome series!
I loved Maisy and Hunter. And Coby! Gosh, I adore that little guy!
Duh, the epilogue turned me into a sobbing mess.
All my heart to this book, to this series!
Full disclosure…I have only read the bread in the Jamison Valley series sandwich. I was meh about the first one, but was really interested in Maisy’s story so I skipped to this one. While I did enjoy The Bitterroot Inn, I did have a bit of an issue with a few things. I find it completely unrealistic that Hunter’s occupation NEVER came up in all the conversations they have. Yes, he tried to tell her several times and was interrupted, but in all the time they spent together, it was never mentioned? Even in passing? What the heck did they talk about?? The other thing I had a problem with is her fear of the hospital. It makes perfect sense that she is scared of the hospital, but in the prologue, Hunter sees her coming into the hospital with her brother and there is no indication that Maisy is frightened to be there.
Now Hunter? He was so great. I loved him so much. He didn’t like lying to Maisy but wanted her to get to know him before he told her the truth. And Coby was freaking adorable!!! Hunter and Coby’s relationship melted my heart. Plus the epilogue was amazing!
I love small town settings, and Devney Perry’s The Bitterroot Inn is a prime example of such a story. A well-written book featuring intrigue, betrayal, good friends and a precocious 4-year old boy. A tad drawn out but overall a very enjoyable read.
