Poppy Maysen carries a journal in her purse. Its pages were filled long ago by a man who craved adventure, lived life to the fullest and never failed to make her laugh. The journal is his birthday list—one she vows to complete. She’ll do the things he wanted to do most. Because maybe, just maybe, if she can finish his list, she can start to live again. Poppy expects going through the birthday list … through the birthday list will be hard. She expects it to hurt. But what she doesn’t expect is Cole. Could the man who watched her heart shatter be the one to put it back together again?

One of the sweetest 🙂
I liked the characters in the book. I liked the premise. I could have done with less specific sex, but it was a nice story.
Sweet heart warming story about a grieving widow working through her grief and learning how to gone with her life finding joy once again
Fabulous book which I highly recommend!
Example of obsessive grief and getting past it.
I really really enjoyed this book. I think it was sad yet inspirational and the characters are amazing. I don’t want to give anything away, but it was a great read and a happy ending. I look forward to reading other books by this author!
Although it seemed to go on a little more than necessary, this was a very enjoyable book. The characters were very believable and kept my interest.
I loved following Poppy through this book. This is a very very good read!!!!
What a ride
*5 Stars*
I have been wanting to try Devney Perry books for ages, and I have a bunch of them sitting on my kindle waiting to be read. I finally got the time to pick one up, and boy am I glad I did. I read this book in one day, it was fantastic.
I was hooked from the very start, that prologue pulled me right in, and from then on, I had to know how Poppy was going to get on. Cole was a fabulous hero for this story, and man oh man, can I find myself someone like him? Please? He was the perfect guy for Poppy, and fit this storyline perfectly.
Poppy was an easy to like character, and it was wonderful to see her, finally, after such a long time, start to live her life for herself and get her happiness back after what she had suffered.
Whilst there are plenty of emotions in this book, there are also plenty of fun moments too. It’s the perfect mix and a wonderful way to tell a story like this. I really liked the idea of the Birthday List, and it was a great way to tell this story and help Poppy move on.
Also filled with some wonderful secondary characters, like Jimmy and Randall (they had me cracking up) and of course Molly, who I cannot wait to read her book.
Loved this one, and highly recommend. Will definitely be moving onto some books by this author very shortly!
Oh wow!! I really enjoyed this book. The storyline was fantastic and so real. I can’t wait to read more from this author. Good read!!!
A beautiful story of coincidence, grief, letting go, patience, persistence and love. Ms Perry’s books are always a joy to read. Her storytelling always engaging and her characters are multidimensional as well as realistic. Poppy and Cole are my new favorites.
4*
Poppy & Jamie met when they were in school they married young. Jamie was always coming up with lists & had come up with a to do list of things he’d like to achieve or do before milestones of his birthdays. However after his death Poppy decided she’d like to continue it.
Carrying out one of Jamie’s wishes she meets Cole again.
I loved the story, the emotions and the way the storyline was handled was brilliant
I’ve heard so much about this book and I finally got the change to read it. I was not disappointed. The Birthday List is a story about love and loss, grief and moving on. It was emotional and gripping and you will love both Cole and Poppy. Both characters were well-developed and while I loved Poppy’s strength, it was Cole who had my heart with his swoony behaviour. The way he was caring and protective of Poppy and was willing to wait for her made him the best hero in my book. The addition of the secondary characters most especially Jimmy and Randell brought much needed levity to the story.
I loved the pace of the story, it made Cole and Poppy’s romance so much more authentic. This well-written page-turner was gripping, heart-warming, and a definite 5 star read. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of contemporary romance.
