A heart-pumping futuristic thrill-ride set in a frightening dystopian society. 2016 Once Upon A Book Award Winner. It is the year 4006, and nuclear war has come to the United States. With tens of thousands killed and countless more injured or terminally ill from the blasts, there is no more “normal”…life will never be the same. For her part, Blythe Sol is reeling from the loss of her arm and an … of her arm and an eye in one of the blasts – her dreams of following in her father’s footsteps and joining the military completely shattered. When she hears about the Restoration Project – a bionic government program that offers the sick and injured a second chance – she immediately enrolls.
Made whole again, Blythe is filled with hope and a renewed sense of purpose. But when it becomes apparent that those outfitted with the robotic parts now possess super-human abilities, fear spreads across the nation. The Bionics are forced to go into hiding, outcast from all society. In desperation, they band together to form an underground rebellion, and Blythe finds herself caught in a confusing tug-of-war between two of her fellow soldiers—Gage Bronson, the mysterious new addition to the Resistance, and Dax Janner, her best friend. But with war on the horizon and a death sentence hanging over her, Blythe hardly has time to worry about her feelings…

Lots of twists. Lots of drama. Good story telling. Enjoyed it!
Obviously a YA selection, but the characters were presented with complexity. The reader does become interested in their story.
Excellent concept. Comfortable read that keeps you entertained.
Different. Good book. Exciting, some cases surprising, and active. Juxtaposition of to kill or not kill the enemy drove me crazy, though I felt the reality of the position. Catches the imagination if you put yourself in the picture.
Loved the book. Interesting concept. Couldn’t put it down!
A story that’s not a retread. New, fun sci-fi.
I liked the characters … and the directed EMP.
This book drew me in and kept me. The story is well crafted, the characters are complex, but approachable, and I literally could not put this down. Immediately bought the second installment when I was finished with the first. This author is great! One of the rare gems I have found.
The Bionics was a great read. I t was truly entertaining. Not a slow moment in the entire book!! WOW!!
A believable sci-fi. Could not put it down. Very unpredictable.
good book loved the read you would too if you read
Presidents are sometime unrealistic.
it was a good futuristic read
A nice start to what could be a fun series. A little more romance than I like in my action books, but not enough to detract from the action sequences.
I haven’t finished it yet but love it. Great strong characters
I liked where the story was going but had to stop reading because of the language and sexual explicitness of the scenes.
An enjoyable several hours.
ok read
not really believable
Enjoyed this book
