Vane McClellan is all business. He might come from money, but he’s worked hard to make his architecture firm one of the top in the country. But things have slammed to a halt in the wake of becoming guardian to Annabelle, his late cousin’s daughter. Vane fears Annabelle may need more than he can give her. Maggie Stewart, Annabelle’s teacher, cares deeply for her students but likes to live … live footloose and fancy free. She’s about to move—again—but not before she gets Annabelle settled. They’ve grown close since the girl joined her class, and now Maggie has one final job: drop Annabelle off at Vane’s summer home.
When Maggie gets stranded at Vane’s vacation home, she gets a chance to see Vane vulnerable. The sight of a strong man doing his best in the face of new fatherhood melts her heart. When he asks her to stay and nanny Annabelle for the summer, Maggie agrees in hopes that she’ll be able to teach Vane how to be a father before her new job starts. Vane is happy to have someone he trusts to shepherd his young ward. As the three begin to become a family and Vane and Maggie give in to the passion that’s plagued them from day one, they’ll let themselves be something both have feared for a long time: happy. But when summer comes to an end, Vane and Maggie will have to decide if they want to follow their hearts…or their plans.

A new adventure…
This is book three in this series and in my opinion the best. When Maggie agrees to help care for Annabelle she thinks she’s just killing time until her next adventure. What she finds is more but will she realize it in time? Sometimes one can’t see the truth until it’s too late……..

This is book three in the McClellan Billionaires series. This is Vane’s story. Vane is similar to his brothers in that he always had money but he also works incredibly hard to be successful. He like focus is his architecture firm. Until one day his life is flipped upside down when he becomes the legal guardian to Annabelle, his late cousin’s daughter. Vane feels like he has been thrown into the deep end with no water wings. Then he meets Annabelle’s teacher, Maggie when she bring Annabelle to Vane’s summer home. This is just supposed to be a drop off but Vane convinces Maggie to stay the summer as Annabelle’s nanny. This becomes the summer of surprises, good or bad? This will depend on a few things, the first and foremost, can you love your total opposite mate? Is the risk of crossing that line work the gamble of upsetting the balance? Enjoy this entertaining read on how Vane, Annabelle and Maggie attempt to figure it all out over summer break. Enjoy!

This story is about Vane and Maggie. Vane is an “uncle/guardian” to his cousin’s daughter, Annabelle. Her mother had passed and when he passed from cancer, he was left to care for her. Well Maggie is Annabelle’s teacher and she sets up a meeting with Vane to discuss an end of school trip that Annabelle would love to go to, but Vane hasn’t signed off on the consent form. Well the story takes off from them as Maggie convinces him to allow Annabelle to go as she agrees to drive her to his beach house. Luckily for Vane a storm is coming through and Maggie is stuck there, so he asks her to help out by being the nanny, she agrees for only a few weeks as she has plans to take a vacation before heading to her new job. Well things begin to blossom between them all and she gets scared and leaves him with a new nanny lined up. Does Vane get her to stay and why does she fear this relationship. There is a lot to say in how you view life as a child to as an adult and this story helps you understand that it isn’t always the way you think it should be. This book did include Arthur and his son from the previous book at the end, but it would have been nice to have them all come together.

The Billionaire’ Ward is the third installment in Leslie North’s McClellan Billionaire’s series and focuses on the development of a relationship between Vane McClellan, architect and businessman, and Maggie Stewart, a school teacher. Vane becomes the sole guardian for Annabelle, his young niece, who was the daughter of his deceased cousin. He asks Maggie, who is Annabelle’s teacher, to be a temporary nanny for her over the summer before Maggie moves to Alaska. Maggie accepts the offer in order to prepare Him for the role of father and to facilitate Vane and Annabelle into a family unit. During the summer, Maggie and Vane develop strong feelings for each other. The question is will Maggie stay after the summer?
This book has realistic characters, a great plot, a heartfelt and touching storyline, complex relationships, and steamy chemistry. I strongly recommend this fantastic book!

A quick read. The characters were deep and lifelike. The plot tugged at my heart. From ashes, beauty will be reborn. Having the child as a part of the story made it so much different from her usual stories, and added a lovely unique touch.
A couple adult scenes.

Another great read by Leslie North who once again brings an entertaining story with strong characters in Maggie and Vane. She does a great job developing the story and painting her scenes and pulls you in with the dialogue, The story moves at a steady pace with the addition of the supporting characters. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

Vane’s cousin passed away and left him with custody of his daughter, Annabelle. He isn’t prepared for fatherhood, and is struggling to balance everything. Annabelle, an precocious fourth-grader, is having some adjustment issues, both with the death of her father, and the change in her living situation. Maggie, Anabelle’s teacher, volunteers to be her nanny for six weeks during the summer break. When Maggie gives Vane a comforting hug, he begins to feel things he doesn’t want to think about. These two are complete opposites, and yet they complement each other in every way. When it’s time for Maggie to leave, they both have decisions to make. I love this book – two characters who find they have wonderful chemistry once they loosen up and really listen to the other. I didn’t like Vane a lot in the beginning, but he learned how to truly put Annabelle’s needs above his own. I’m looking forward to the next set of books from this author.

The Billionaire’s Ward is the third and final book in Leslie North’s McClellen Billionaires and wraps up the series beautifully.
This is a warm and amusing tale of Vane McClellen; thrown headfirst into parenting and all the angst and drama that come hand in hand with raising a pre-teen, he is left with no choice but to accept the help offered by Annabelle’s teacher, Maggie. The events that follow are heart-warming, humorous and at times highly emotional, and for everyone involved there are important lessons to be learned.
I thoroughly enjoyed the character depictions and the storyline was imaginative and engaging too. A wonderful ending to a highly recommended series.
This is the third book in the McClellan Billionaire’s series. This is about Vane and Maggie. Vane is Arthur’s brother. Arthurs story is told in book two. I loved this book. The story is fast paced, but it doesn’t feel rushed. You have a little interaction with the characters from book two but it’s not necessary to read the second book to enjoy this story. The book reads well as a standalone.
Vane finds himself guardian to his young niece Annabelle. Maggie is Annabelle’s teacher. Vane and Maggie have an almost love/hate relationship going on. Maggie wants to help, and Vane sees her as a know it all. Maggie convinces Vane to let Annabelle go on the last field trip at her old school and she’ll bring her out to Vane’s family beach home after the trip. A storm strands her at Vane’s place before she can leave. Vane talks her in to staying and being Annabelle’s temp nanny for six weeks. They end up starting a temporary relationship, but Maggie is supposed to leave for a new job in Alaska. Can Vane convince Maggie that she belongs there with him and Annabelle?

When Annabelle’s father, Vane’s cousin, died of cancer, she became Vane’s ward. It was difficult for the billionaire bachelor who had to become a parent all of a sudden, but he loved Annabelle and he tried to do his best for her.
Annabelle’s teacher, Maggie, loves her students. She asked Vane to come in for a parent teacher conference. She is preparing to move to Alaska but because Vane has been having trouble finding a nanny – because Annabelle thinks she is too grown up for one and drives them away — Maggie agrees to become Annabelle’s nanny for a limited time. She ends up at their summer home longer than she planned, and she and Vane give in to their attraction for each other. But when it was time to move on to her new job, Maggie made sure to send a nanny, who happened to have a granddaughter Annabelle’s age. Will Maggie actually drive away for her next “adventure” to teach in Alaska? Or will she come to realize, maybe with a little “push”, that the family she just left might be the biggest adventure of her life?
Great story with a good story line and likable characters. You won’t want to miss this one. Will Maggie find the peace her adventurous spirit is constantly looking for? Grab your copy and see how it works out.
The Billionaire’s Ward by Leslie North. This is Vane, Maggie and Annabelle’s story. I really enjoyed this book. Vane is now the Gaudian for Annabelle and Maggie is her teacher. When Vane comes in for a parent teacher conference the attraction was there. Maggie being the teacher she was she goes out her way for everyone. When she wants Annabelle to attend an end of the year picnic, she volunteers to bring her to her uncle at the beach house when it was over. The night was cold and rainy and Maggie couldn’t drive back. She than volunteers to be Annabelle’s nanny for six week before she leave on her next adventure. The more Vane and Maggie are together, sharing those special moments and taking care of a child it brings them closer together. I love the family time they shared at the beach and even their adult time on the beach. It was a fun, family oriented read and I wasn’t ready for their story to end. Good Book!!!

A nice romantic tale. I like this book from this author and although there are a few editing errors, the story and the characters made up for those. This book is based on two adults trying to do their best for a young girl who tragically lost both her parents. Vane, Annabelle’s uncle becomes her guardian and Maggie, her school teacher, her temporary nanny. Add to that an old secluded beachside mansion at the cusp of major renovation and the reader is transported into all the noise, chaos, and mess, along with lots of fun the grown-ups are determined to bestow upon Annabelle to make her feel part of something she had lost. A relationship between Vane and Maggie, both lovely physical specimens is almost inevitable and hot, yet neither of them brings up the subject of what happens when this ”temporary” period is over. Maggie is a wanderer by nature although from her soliloquies it is quite probably her mother’s nature more than hers, she just never knew any constancy in her life, always looking for the next adventure. Her character is quite interesting, Vane, on the other hand, remains a bit of a mystery, and he begins to realise the extent of his loneliness after he finds his spirits lifting being with Maggie. However, women’s hearts are fragile when they realise that filling time in a man’s life isn’t enough. She leaves and by doing so inadvertently brings unexpected joy to Annabelle’s life. Vane is shocked and is determined to give Maggie a memento of their time together. The author managed to keep the tension between the lovers until finally, honest communication between them results in a happy ending for all.

Vane McClellan is the guardian of his deceased cousin’s daughter Annabelle. Maggie is Annabelle’s teacher and is very close to the little girl. Vane is having problems with helping Annabelle adjust to her new life. Maggie volunteers to help Vane by being Annabelle’s new Nanny for six weeks. It doesn’t take long for the chemistry to really built up between them. All three of the main characters are strong. HEA

2.5 stars – I like the storyline of Vane and his niece, Annabelle. He is now her guardian and there are struggles and adjustments they both need to make. Vane is a gentle giant with Annabelle and it’s really sweet all the little things he tries to do to help her cope.
Maggie, Annabelle’s teacher turn nanny, is a whole different story. I could not find any sympathy for her. She just does not make a connection that is believable. She contradicts her thoughts with her actions. It makes the story choppy and a bit annoying.

I liked this book but it is by far my least favorite of the series. I can’t say anything really bad about it other than at times the pacing felt sluggish and bogged down. The plot and characters were appealing, but I just couldn’t get too emotionally invested in it.
The third and final book in the McClellan Billionaires series, this well written romance story has great characters, an engaging dialogue, humor, drama, sizzling chemistry, love, and of course, a happily ever after.
I volunteered to review and advance reader copy of this book.
