When my manager assigns me the task of finding a new wake up call service for our CEO, I think, how hard can this be?Answer: practically impossible. It turns out that no wake-up call company in the world will take him on as a client. They’ve all had enough of his surly personality. So in an effort not to lose my job, I secretly start making the calls myself, every day at 4:30 am sharp. OMG yes you … sharp. OMG yes you read that right–four freaking thirty in the morning.
Confession: I’m not the nicest wake-up-call girl at that hour. Hello! Who wakes up before the roosters are even crowing? Luckily he doesn’t seem to mind my get-your-ass-out-of-bed attitude.
Day by day we’re becoming closer, and the calls start turning hot, like pay-by-the-minute hot and oh-so-wild. Snuggled under the covers with the moonlight streaming in the windows, we divulge our secrets to each other, but the one thing that he can never find out is that the sexy vixen who wakes him up every morning is just the lowly assistant who wears frumpy dresses. I can only imagine his disappointment.
Now he wants to take me out on a date and he’s scouring Manhattan to find me. He’s an overachieving billionaire bent on a mission. How much longer can I keep up this charade?

A must read ROM-COM.
The best book I’ve read till now
Normally books where there are misunderstandings or miscommunications are not the type of books I really like reading, but something about the premise to this book really drew me in and took a chance. This is the first book by this author and I am so glad I took a chance and purchased this book!
I have noticed I’ve been gearing toward rom-coms lately so that may be why I one-clicked this book so quickly. It was really funny, I really liked Lizzy’s character, she was a hoot! I do like those books with sassy and quick-witted heroines and this one had it all! I was sad to see she had to down play her looks and her personality and I was bummed out with why she was working their in the first place but this did not last too long. And what can I say about Theo, he was on the uptight and a bit too A-type but he sure made up for it later in the book!
I so loved those wake up calls! It first starts off as an accident but how Theo enjoyed them and how he later reacted to them was awesome!
I also knew there had to be more of the misunderstandings and was anticipating them, but again it did not last too long. I loved how Theo was able to figure it out quickly.
A solid read, loved it!
Laugh out loud funny.
The funnuest, sweetest, naughty read of the year. I loved this book so much. Don’t miss this wonderfully delicious and we’ll written book.
I am pretty new to Annika Martin. But, after reading this book, she is quickly becoming one of my new favorite authors. I absolutely love a good romantic comedy, and this book definitely delivers. I really liked they way they first “met.” They had great chemistry that way, but once they met in person, watch out! Their chemistry was just coming off the pages. I enjoyed this book so much, that I am now going to go back to Annika Martin’s backlist to enjoy more of her work.

This was the first book by this author I’ve ever read. Really cute and funny book. Most of the time, I truly loved Theo and Lizzie. Sasha was one I really wished dire things to happen to. Willow and Mia need books of their own. It was the perfect fun read I needed for my vacation.
Sexy, naughty, and hilarious!
Rom-coms are my weakness, so I KNEW I was going to enjoy this book! The comedy was on-point with the flow of the storyline, and the characters (along with their professional relationship) were quite unique. The dynamic between boss and employee takes an unexpected turn that gives the reader plenty of almost-cringe-worthy moments, but it’s the undeniably sizzling sexy times and dirty talk that overrides any awkwardness displayed by the characters.
Read in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down! An overall great book!
I laughed, I was outraged, I was worried. And throughout the book, the sex scenes steamed up my glasses. Great humorous writing throughout, and lots of clothes being torn! I loved it!
Full confession: I was a little confused when I first saw the title of The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl, but it did emphasize the fact that punctuation matters!! This was such a cute take on the office Romance and enemies-to-lovers tropes. Theo’s character arc is phenomenal and the way his relationship with Lizzie progresses is so fun and sexy! I really loved the way that Lizzie was determined to accomplish things on her own and overcome the situation thrust upon her by her ex. I also really liked her sassy manner with Theo (which clearly he enjoyed as well). I do wish the big baddie in the office really got her comeuppance, but I utterly enjoyed the story nonetheless. I can’t wait to read more romantic comedies from Annika Martin, in fact, I hope that she does a book featuring Lizzie’s bestie, Mia! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
What an intriguing book! This is not the peaches and cream love story you read about a lovey-dovey couple. This couple have been friends for a long time and they love each other, but haven’t dared come out with their feelings. Their way to each other was complicated, and staying together was even more difficult, due to their jobs.
Cameron Scott is an up and coming actor in Hollywood. He loves his best friend Sarah Travers but hasn’t dared come out with his feelings. Sarah feels the same, and likewise hasn’t dared either. It’s not revealed in the book why they couldn’t reveal their feelings to each other. After one drunken night and one mistaken sexy times, their relation got even more rocky.
Sarah is the assistant to Broderick, an important movie producer. The movie they’re starting to work on is perfect for Cameron and Sarah helps Cameron get the role. The problem: Broderick deems Sarah as an unsuitable girlfriend and his PR company invents a fake romance with the film leading lady.
Cameron and Sarah have communication problems. They can’t start a conversation without it escalating into a fight. They have accumulated sore feelings for the disappointments the other one caused. They get angry and stay sullen and sulking. Cameron gets jerky and selfish and acts a little like a prima donna. Sarah, who is usually self-assured, starts feeling inadequate, not good enough for her actor boyfriend. Their way to each other is full of obstacles and the barrier caused by the dirty tricks of the Hollywood public perception machine seems unsurmountable.
It was an interesting story because the story didn’t progress as expected. Cameron and Sarah finally sort out their relation but still harbor a grudge that comes out at times. They are not perfect, but perfectly normal. They do love each other, and are committed to their relation but it does take a beating and it’s hard to overcome. It was a different take on a romance book dynamics and made for an entertaining read. The story dragged a little around midway through but it was still interesting to make the reader keep on reading.
This book had me hook line and sinker. I could not put it down to the point that I stayed up all night. A really great read.
I don’t really know where to start because there is just so much romantic greatness up in this book! I mean like every page was just phenomenal. It’s not LOL/OTT, it’s just relatable and realistic humor all wrapped up in a romantic journey between the oblivious billionaire nerd and the sometimes really clueless but so endearing girl that seems to find trouble at every turn.
You guys …. I want to be Lizzie & Theo when I grow up. Okay so here’s a quick gist of the story for you: so Lizzie needs a huge amount of money and she needs it quick. So she gets herself a job that if she lasts the first 30 days, she gets a huge payout at the end of those 30 days. Easy peasy, right? Let the games begin …
Annika Martin’s imagination holds no bounds. I mean I thought she couldn’t top Most Eligible Bastard now known as Most Eligible Billionaire but she blew Henry and Vicky right out of the water with Theo and Lizzie. What a fantabulous read. And let me just say, as far as story-lines go, I challenge you to come up with one anywhere similar to this. This story was refreshing and humorous and captivating and just plain fun to read. You’re gonna blow thru it and you’ll hate yourself for it but at least you can go back and read it again 🙂
So yeah 2018 #FavoriteReads from me. Well done!

I thought this was a great read with a unique plot & I loved the characters. The chemistry between the characters is perfection. Annika Martin does a great job keeping the reader engaged and wanting more.
Theo Drummand is the CEO of Vossameer and head chemist. He is brooding, sexy, brilliant, and a bit of a loner. Things have happened in his past that have made him standoffish and not one to indulge in anything fun. He doesn’t date. He only engages with woman to satisfy his sexual needs. Will Theo ever let anyone break down his walls?
Lizzie is a sexy, sassy, take no bull kinda girl. She has been messed over and she doesn’t trust easily. There were a few times where I wanted to scream, “Get over it already!” She was a little frustrating at times but she redeems herself in the end. She once owned a cookie shop but things happened and she lost her. I don’t want to say what it was because I don’t want to spoil it for you. All she wants is to open a cookie shop again & stay out of trouble. She takes a job at Vossameer out of necessity and desperation as a public relations specialist. This is where Theo and Lizzie meet. Things don’t go as she planned. Can Lizzie find another way to get what she needs before time runs out? There were many times Lizzie & Mia’s (her best friend & roommate) conversations had me cracking up. For example, this is a conversation they had:
Mia: “You did say he was gorgeous.”
Lizzie: “That doesn’t mean I’m sexually attracted to him. I think the Taj Mahal is gorgeous, but I’m not going to stand in front of a picture of it and masturbate.”
Mia: “Okay, now, that’s just disturbing.”
This is a standalone with an HEA. this book is funny, sexy, sassy, angsty rom-com/ office romance with great cast of characters. I especially loved her best friend & roommate, Mia. she was funny, loyal, and always had lizzie’s back & was always straight with her. I love Annika Martin’s rom-coms as well as her mafia romances. she is a talented writer and I cannot wait to see what she has in store next! I highly recommend reading it!
SEXY, ROMANTIC, & SO DARN CUTE!!!
Title: The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl
Author: Annika Martin
Designation: Full-Length Standalone Romantic Comedy(App 300 pages), NO CLiffhanger, HEA #contemporary #cutesyhumor #wackyroleplay #nocheating #notriggers #noviolence #naughtylanguage #explicitsex
My Rating: Five Sinfully Sexy Stars*****
I loved, loved, loved The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl! I’m a huge Annika Martin fan and adore her romantic comedies. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy all her work, including her darker contemporary romance as well as her romantic suspense written by her alter ego Carolyn Crane, but there’s just something about her sparkling, sultry prose in her lighter, upbeat storylines that really revs my engine, probably because my favorite component of every book is the cast of characters, and romantic comedies are almost always character-driven, focusing predominantly on the people. An author can present a well thought out plot with an interesting conflict but without a captivating, engaging, well-developed, and relatable cast of characters, the story will fall flat. And this is where Annika Martin truly shines as a writer. She’s an exceptionally talented storyteller and skilled wordslinger, but one of her primary strengths, in my humble opinion, is her ability to create gruff, growly, hard to get along with, and often unlikeable brutes and turn them into sexy, adorably cute, and irresistibly charming heroes. And handsome billionaire CEO Theo Drummond is no exception! He’s soooo swoony! *sigh* But let’s not forget her heroines, who are always sassy, spunky, intelligent, independent free-spirits with hearts of gold – and formally trained chef, cookie baker extraordinaire, and social media genius Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Cooper aka Operator Seven is delicious perfection! The attraction between Theo and Lizzie is immediate as well as undeniable, and their sexual chemistry is so hot it sizzles. The interaction between these two polar opposites is beyond entertaining but despite their differences, they compliment each other brilliantly! I laughed, snickered, snorted, sniffled, and fumed through the entire book but by the end, I was Happy, satisfied, and well entertained. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! WOuld I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language, adult humor, and dreamy sex. This story was more of a slow burn but when these two finally did get together, it was explosive! Although there’s no violence, there is a well-balanced infusion of heartbreaking drama and angst. No CEOs nor malicious department heads were harmed in the writing of this book, though I did want to strangle Lizzie’s malicious and very unpleasant supervisor, Sasha. lol… But all jokes aside, The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl is an exceptionally well-crafted and edited full-length standalone romantic comedy with a clearly defined his and her first-person narrative. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed, at times outrageously funny, and flows effortlessly. There’s absolutely nothing I didn’t love about this book! It does contain a few references to several characters from one of Martin’s earlier books, Most Eligible Billionaire. Will I read this author again! Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
HAHAHAHAHA! This is exactly what this book made me do…LAUGH SO HARD! This book was not just ultimately funny but downright SEXY AS SIN! The banter made me giggle and squirm while these two characters had so much zing and their chemistry was CRAZY HOT!
Annika Martin is quickly becoming my go to author for fun and sexy and delectable romcoms! The Billionaire’s Wake-Up Call Girl made giddy and happy and I had so much great fun reading it. It was brilliant, made me pant and put a almost constant smile on my face. This is one of the most enjoyable romcoms I read recently and I can’t wait to read MANY more from Miss Martin!
The Billionaire’s Wake-Up Call Girl gets a HILARIOUS AND OH SO SEXY FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
This book woke me up!
I loved this book! I laughed out loud, & my heart broke in a few places. I loved the originality of the wake-up call. Both main characters, Theo & Lizzie, were well-rounded. I loved getting a glimpse of Henry, Vicky & Smuckers from Most Eligible Billionaire. I hope Mia gets her own book, because I loved her as Lizzie’s best friend! This book had just the right amount of humor, heart, sexy times with a little angst thrown in. A perfect Summer, beach, rom-com read!
The Billionaire’s Wake Up Call Girl is my very first book by Annika Martin and let me just say that I am in love. This book got me from the very first page. I loved the Hero and heroine both equally. And even though this was a romantic comedy, it had me all twisted up. Yes I know in my heart these are going to end in a HEA. But I was so worried about these two and how this was all going to be worked out. I didn’t want to stop reading!
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Cooper had everything going for her. She had started a small bakery which was flourishing. And she had fallen in love. Only the man she gave her heart to took a lot more than just her heart. He took her for everything. Now the bakery is closed, she is in debt up to her eyeballs, and a lone shark is showing up at her door with a gun. So, she took a short term job working on the online presence for a pharmaceutical company. If she can keep the job for just one month, she will get a large bonus that will satisfy the lone shark. Just one month! She can do that right?
Theo Drummond is CEO of Vossameer. Theo is known for a product he invented but is also known for his surly attitude. He runs his company in a no frills fashion. He wants everyone to concentrate on their duties, not on what he deems frivolous things.
The first time Lizzie actually meets Theo, there is something there, eyes meet and hold, electricity sparks. Lizzie isn’t the only one that notices though. Her supervisor, Sasha, picks up on it and doesn’t like it. Lizzie is off men, she needs to keep this job, so she decides to do whatever it takes to make her boss NOT notice her. Wear frumpy clothes, no eye contact, whatever she has to do to keep this job so she can get her bonus.
“His hotness has its own force. It has its own gravity. It has its own zip code, miles past the neighborhood of stop staring and deep in the religious experience of beauty zone.”
For some reason Theo doesn’t use normal alarm clocks to wake him up at 4:30 in the morning. He uses a wake up service. Only no one will have him. He’s run them all off. It seems he’s not the most friendly in the morning. Lizzie is tasked with finding him a new service but when no one will take the job, she decides to do it herself. How hard could it be? Only things don’t exactly start out on the right foot. But that something is still there, even though Theo doesn’t know who she is, that zing is there over the phone. Their morning conversations become personal, secrets are whispered and soon their talk turns hot, sizzling hot. Theo wants to know who she is, he wants to know her. But Lizzie isn’t sharing.
“This woman. I need more of her. I need to know her. I have to find her. And the answer is out there. I’ll crack this puzzle like I crack every other puzzle. I’ll find her name. I’ll find her address. I’ll find her.”
Oh my gosh, that right there should have you one clicking like crazy. These two! The secondary characters were amazing as well. Both Lizzie’s roommate, Mia, and Theo’s sister, Willow, were so much fun.
This book was perfection. It was fun, sweet, sexy as heck, and like I said before, it had me all tied up as Theo tried everything to figure out the identity of his wake up call girl and Lizzie prepared for the day when the lone shark was going to come knocking and she wouldn’t have the money. I love it when I try a book by a new to me author and fall in love like this. I’m already looking through her other books to see which one I want to try next.
I love everything Annika Martin writes, but her romantic comedies hold a special place in my heart. They are simply fabulous, and The Billionaire’s Wake-up-call Girl is no exception. It’s a sexy enemies-to-lovers romance with page after page of laugh-out-loud humor, swoon-worthy romance and characters you’ll fall in love with. The sexual tension between the hero and heroine sizzles, especially during their morning phone calls, and their antagonistic, rapid-fire banter is so much fun. The Billionaire’s Wake-up-call Girl is feel-good romance at its finest and an absolute must-read.

ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.
I love opening a romcom with great expectations and STILL being completely blown away by it. The blurb alone is enough to make you laugh – a wake-up-call girl who gets to speak her mind to her arrogant boss completely anonymously? Umm, yes please!
The story is every bit as great at I expected and it had me laughing out loud continuously. There are so many parts I want to talk about – (“Looks like Mr. Amazing is being amazing elsewhere.”) – but aside from that, I don’t want to ruin the ride for anyone else.
Suffice to say, I’m used to Annika writing witty female characters, but a huge point of difference with this one is that after her initial snarky meeting with Mr. Drummond, Lizzie transforms herself into the character of the ‘Turnip Truck’ and keeps her silence, instead internalizing all of her hilarious thoughts and saving them up for her morning wake-up calls with Theo instead.
Hilarity ensues.
Sure, you’ll want to beat Theo with his own protective eye-wear at first, but that brooding a$$hole will win you over with his smoothly-delivered dirty talk and his burning need to save the world. His tragic back story helps too.
Fun cameos from a certain furry past player and his hoomans, an equally irreverent best friend, plus a nasty witch of a fellow employee round this cast out beautifully.
This is definitely a book I’ll reach for time and again if I need a good laugh or a happy ending
Five fantastique stars! There is a controlling icy CEO waiting for you ladies!
For all that is holy and sacred Annika Martin has delivered the most delightful and hilarious book. There is no doubt that she is the Queen of the Romantic Comedy. The Billionaire’s Wake-up-call Girl is a priceless masterpiece wrapped in an exquisite cover. This is the kind of book that lightens your day in the best way possible. It is a sparkling unicorn! Best. Rom-Com. Ever.
The storyline is a refreshing and too compelling. I was hooked from the first pages. I devoured each chapter like if tomorrow does not exist. The pacing is fast and smooth in the right moments. The dual POVs added a special touch that had me over the moon all the time. No book has ever made me laugh hard, like a possessed hyena. The plot is brilliant, witty and unique.
There is nothing better than reading Annika Martin’s books. Her writing is mind-bending, addictive and so hot! Her pen is always on fire! I wonder what inspires her to create such arrogant and strong male characters. And for each one of them there is a sassy, independent and hard-working woman who turned their world upside down.
Delighted by the strong chemistry between the main characters, fascinated with the interaction between them and painfully addicted and wanting more is how I felt after finishing this book. All was madly calculated to ruin me and left me with a big book hangover. Annika plays beautifully with her readers. Her writing is the perfect dose for a book addict like you and me! There should be a warning in each of her books that should state: “My books are hilarious, dirty, and savage and oh so good. Beware that they will melt your brain like an ice cream”. LOL
Mr. Drummond won my heart with his bad-boy lips. Sorry ladies but I am a softie. For the first time in my life I was quite interested in chemistry. He is the man capable of tormenting any hot-blooded woman. He is a sinful CEO and hot AF! His icy attitude and antisocial skills made him impossibly attractive and mysterious. He is reserved and all possessive and caveman with Eli. She literally shook his world and defies him like no other.
Eli is my heroine literally. She is a strong, independent woman. She is like a phoenix. She reborn from ashes. She lose her cookie business because of a con man tricked her. So she works temporarily in Vossameer. She hides herself in order to to keep her position and the bonus they will pay her. She needs the money. She will do everything, even being the wake-up-call girl Mr. Dummmond needs. Fate has funny and hilarious ways to match people together.
Theo and Eli are like water and oil. They are totally opposite. Enemies and then lovers. They are dynamite and hot as fire. The attraction between them is deep and sizzling. Eli is warm like the sun and Theo is cold like ice. Will Eli be able to melt Theo’s cold walls? Will she trust her heart to a controlling man like Mr. Drummond?
I absolutely recommend you this book. It is perfect for all the readers who love funny and steamy Rom-Coms! And if your thing is the enemies to lovers romance, this will be your choice of book. Annika will wrap you like a spicy burrito!
