When my manager assigns me the task of finding a new wake up call service for our CEO, I think, how hard can this be?Answer: practically impossible. It turns out that no wake-up call company in the world will take him on as a client. They’ve all had enough of his surly personality. So in an effort not to lose my job, I secretly start making the calls myself, every day at 4:30 am sharp. OMG yes you … sharp. OMG yes you read that right–four freaking thirty in the morning.
Confession: I’m not the nicest wake-up-call girl at that hour. Hello! Who wakes up before the roosters are even crowing? Luckily he doesn’t seem to mind my get-your-ass-out-of-bed attitude.
Day by day we’re becoming closer, and the calls start turning hot, like pay-by-the-minute hot and oh-so-wild. Snuggled under the covers with the moonlight streaming in the windows, we divulge our secrets to each other, but the one thing that he can never find out is that the sexy vixen who wakes him up every morning is just the lowly assistant who wears frumpy dresses. I can only imagine his disappointment.
Now he wants to take me out on a date and he’s scouring Manhattan to find me. He’s an overachieving billionaire bent on a mission. How much longer can I keep up this charade?

I enjoyed the humor and liked the main characters. I transition between action-packed thrillers and fun stories like this one and it was definitely fun. I found this author recently and have three of her books so far and will continue to look for more.
A really cute story….with a funny twist!
I enjoyed the book and was funny at times!
Truthfully cute book. Really enjoyed it and the way the characters interact and the overall HEA.
Lol…great read!
Loved it!
I loved the story!
The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl by Annika Martin had me intrigued from first glance at the blurb and had me hooked from the first chapter! Lizzie and Theo are adorable and endearing and I fell in love with them as they fell head over heels for one another, whether they wanted to or not!
Lizzie’s personality shines through, her amusing observations, her quirky thoughts, and friendly disposition, and it made me love her more and more as we got to experience all the intensity and the drama right alongside her. I felt for her, her history, and wanted to be there, cheering on this incredible woman as she simply got on with business, with her usual flair, and not letting anyone dim her spark. (Also, can I please and thank you have a Mia in my life? She’s amazing!)
And Theo? GOODNESS GRACIOUS but I needed a tall, cold glass of ice water! He is hot, stern, commanding, growly, and distant, and even when being a jerk still annoyingly attractive and I loved getting to see behind the curtain, see the layers revealed about who he truly was. I promise, you’ll love it too!
The chemistry is off the charts and the principal and secondary characters ABSOLUTELY make this story! I guarantee you’ll fall in love with Theo and Lizzie! Now…for me to read all the other books in this series because I know that I’ll love them too!
A fun read. Lots of laugh out loud and alpha heroine. LIzzie takes a job for one month to get a big
bonus to pay money she owes the mob. She becomes the wakeup call girl to her boss because he
cannot find a service that will take him on as a client. The real fun begins with her wake up calls.
Theo her boss falls for the phone wake up girl but cannot find out who she is. In the mean time
a jealous women who works for Theo gets Lizzie fired. Lizzie continues the wake up calls that
are so crazy. A fast enjoyable book that shows you never know what crazy stuff leads to love.
This was fun, sweet, quirky, sexy and wonderful! Excellent narration by Jason Clarke and Neva Nevarre.
I’ve read all three of these Billionaire books now and I can’t choose a favorite, but IMO book 1 is the sweetest, book 3 is the most touching, and this one is the funniest. They’re all really, really good. Far above the average romance novel.
I love rom/coms. I’ve read so many of them now that a rom/com really needs to up the ante in order to get five stars from me. This book gets stars to infinity and beyond. I’ve never laughed so hard reading a book in my life. And not only was it the funniest book ever, it transformed into the sweetest romance with some of the best chemistry and steam that I’ve read in a long time. And if that’s not enough, it’s really well written.
This book is chock full of crazy sh*t—unorthodox wake up calls, goofy cross-stitch sayings, and ironic cookie celebrations, not to mention the snappy banter.
The main character Theo, like many geniuses, was absorbed in his own little world. He wasn’t trying to be a bad boss, he just didn’t get it. He saw no need for camaraderie, color and smells in the workplace. He was antisocial and his favorite color was gray for godsake. Along comes Operator Seven, the wake-up-call girl. What better way to dis your boss than to do it anonymously while he’s half asleep. This part of the story is unbelievably funny. Don’t even try to put this book down until at least 20%.
The two feisty personalities wrestle for control of the conversation and as you’d expect pretty soon it’s a turn on, and what do you know, Professor Wonderbrain has a dirty mouth and he knows how to use it. The rest is for you to discover but in the interest of full disclosure, the tone will change before they finally get their HEA.
Honorable mention goes to Mia, the roommate, side kick and partner in crime. Her thespian advice on how to look dumpy and dim-witted will make you giggle, and her coaching on improv is perfect inspiration for Lizzie. (“The secret to improv like this is that you just commit. Whatever comes out of your mouth, go with it.”)
Ms. Martin writes this story in a fun style that is easy to read, young and authentic. I read these books out of order but I didn’t feel lost or confused at all. This could totally be a standalone but the other books in the series are just as good so why stop at one? This is a really wonderful love story with truly lovable characters. So if you like steamy, LOL funny romance stories this is a great choice.
I read this in one afternoon and LOVED THIS!! Such a good steamy rom com!!!
This book was amazing! lots of laughters, fun and romance!
You must read this motherf*cker!
If you read the book, you will get it
I loved this book. I was reading another book this morning and I felt a reading slump coming. The book was boring and I needed something interesting stat. Before the reading slump would set in. I found this book through my Library and I liked the description of the book.
It did not disappoint me. This book is everything it promises. It is funny and witty. I loved the banter between the characters and also the friendship portrayed here.
Even the insecurities and misgivings were good because made this whole story real to me.
The characters had real problems and thank God, no misunderstandings due to lack of communication. The antagonist in this story is not a bad person, she’s just opportunistic and petty. This book is exactly what I need today.
Recipe for a great book: Banter, humor and, of course, baby goats!
This for me was the right book at the right time. I really enjoyed and savored this book.
Lizzie has lost her bakery in Manhattan due to her scumbag boyfriend who absconded with her money and left her in debt. So, she has made a plan to move back with her parents for 18 months, make money and return to Manhattan to fulfill her dream. In the meantime she has accepted a job at Vossameer at the marketing dept., simply because they offered a signing bonus she desperately needs to pay off a loan shark (added bonus from the loser ex). She only has to stay put for 30 days.
Theo Drummond is the CEO of Vossameer and he is also a chemist and the brain behind a very special wound gel that saves lives. When Lizzie is tasked with finding him a wake-up call service she ends up calling him herself and because of a misunderstanding she is actually quite rude to him. He seems intrigued by ‘Operator Seven’ and after several calls (that turn quite hot) he tries to track her down. But when they finally meet (HOT!) their story is just beginning. Theo is so not like the alpha men in lots of today’s romance. He is driven, haunted by a tragic event and I loved his interactions with his sister Willow.
I tried reading this book during work at the toilet, in the bus/train and everywhere because I was so into it. The way the layers of Theo are shown, how he treats Lizzie, THE DRESS, I just loved it. I was a bit upset by how stubborn Lizzie seemed to be at not making the same mistake with men, but it all worked out. (2018)
One of the best romcoms I’ve read so far
This is one of the best romantic comedies I’ve read. It is also one of the best romance stories I’ve had a pleasure to read in a while. So smart and totally funny, plus it is also super sexy and gives all the proper feels you could wish for a romantic novel. I laughed, I swooned, I cried. I was immersed with the story from page one and I was just turning pages to see what’s in the store for great main characters. This is must read for everyone who enjoys reading romcoms and wants to laugh out loud.
Now this is what I’m talking about! I loved absolutely every single thing about this book. It begins with an enemies to lovers trope, added in a boss and employee set up, and finishes up in the most amazing way!
I am addicted to romances with a touch of humor, a lot of steam and a heroine who is strong and feisty. But most of all I’m drawn to heroes who are a bit of an a-hole and that once they meet the “one” they will do anything to have her. That doesn’t necessarily mean they lose the a-holery, but they learn to use it in a whole new way. And that is exactly who and what Theo was.
When Lizzie gives Theo the dressing down he deserves he is pulled from his constant thoughts of chemical formulas and thrown into a tailspin on how to find this impudent woman. What follows is a chase for the record books. And that is just the icing on the cookie. Their relationship was so fun to watch, their chemistry completely believable as were their conflicts.
This has all the ingredients for the most perfect read and I’ll be adding it to my reread list even while I search out other books in this series.
Dual POV
