When my manager assigns me the task of finding a new wake up call service for our CEO, I think, how hard can this be?Answer: practically impossible. It turns out that no wake-up call company in the world will take him on as a client. They’ve all had enough of his surly personality. So in an effort not to lose my job, I secretly start making the calls myself, every day at 4:30 am sharp. OMG yes you … sharp. OMG yes you read that right–four freaking thirty in the morning.
Confession: I’m not the nicest wake-up-call girl at that hour. Hello! Who wakes up before the roosters are even crowing? Luckily he doesn’t seem to mind my get-your-ass-out-of-bed attitude.
Day by day we’re becoming closer, and the calls start turning hot, like pay-by-the-minute hot and oh-so-wild. Snuggled under the covers with the moonlight streaming in the windows, we divulge our secrets to each other, but the one thing that he can never find out is that the sexy vixen who wakes him up every morning is just the lowly assistant who wears frumpy dresses. I can only imagine his disappointment.
Now he wants to take me out on a date and he’s scouring Manhattan to find me. He’s an overachieving billionaire bent on a mission. How much longer can I keep up this charade?

This is my first solo Annika Martin book and I really loved it! It was so cute and such a refreshing read. I highly recommend this on audio.
Narrators Jason Clarke and Neva Nevarre were perfect for their characters. As Jason is already a favorite narrator of mine, but Neva needs to narrate more books!
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

5 Star Review The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl (Billionaires of Manhattan #2) by Annika Martin
AUDIO REVIEW:
Annika Martin is a relatively new author to me and why I have not read or listened to more of her books before, I have no idea. This was a well written and entertaining read that had me hooked from the first to the last chapter.
The writing was strong and the characters were easy to relate to and I found myself totally invested in Lizzie and Theo ’s story. This is a feel good book that left me with a smile on my face, it was also steamy and passionate. Theo ticked the boxes for me, hot as sin and an alpha who set my heart racing.
There were so many moemnts where I found myself laughing out loud like a hyena and my family thought I had finally lost the plot. I enjoyed the banter and fun between Lizzie and Theo and it made for an entertaining read. If you are looking for a book that is hot, spicy, romantic and humorous, then look no further.
Smart, sexy, super funny… I only wish I’d A) worked for a hot a**hole scientist billionaire and B) had the chance to tell him off the way Lizzie does when she delivers his morning wake-up calls. This book checked all my boxes: a**hole in need of a makeover, a thoughtful rescue, a hero who gives the best presents ever, and really fun, steamy sex that doesn’t require advanced yoga certification. In the words of Lizzie: “With or without glasses, he’s the most dramatically, effusively, wildly handsome man I’ve ever seen. His hotness has its own force. It has its own gravity. It has its own zip code, miles past the neighborhood of stop staring and deep in the religious-experience-of-beauty zone.”
Great fun and easy-to-read!
Disclaimer: I’m usually not a fan of “billionaire” books. But the blurb promised something more than the usual trope, and I was not disappointed.
The book was funny with plenty of laugh-out-loud (or snort-laugh) moments, hot, but also had an emotional depth I had not expected. Overall, I liked the characters, maybe Lizzie a bit more than Theo, and I appreciated the friendship Lizzie and Mia have.
One super minor thing that bugged me a bit is that Theo, apparent super genius, not for one single moment doubts that his wake-up-call girl must be young and attractive. I wonder how he’d reacted, if she’d turned out to be a sassy sixty-year-old grandma of twelve…
Funny. Enjoyable read!
Great book
Deliciously funny and perfectly plotted! Off to read the next book in the series …
I’ve been a fan of Annika Martin’s writing since her haunting and emotional Dissillusionists series. (Written by her alter-ego, Carolyn Crane.) But that was an urban fantasy with romantic elements. Could she pull off a rom-com?
Answer: absolutely. This ‘Beauty and the Beast meets Scheherazade’ combo is delightful, and exactly the entertaining fiction I needed right now.
Loved this book! I usually go for romantic suspense, but this one made me laugh and I thought the h was a little too stubborn, but it all worked out.
Great book, makes you want to read more like it
Cute.
a delightful read. You can’t help chuckling outloud!
Wonderful
This book was outstanding. So funny. From the very start. H/H both great characters. The entire series is awesome. Ms. Martin is 1 of my favorite authors. She’s an auto buy.
Had me laughing out loud
Annika Martin — The Billionaire’s Wake Up Call Girl — This was over the top funny! Normally, romantic comedy involves me wincing in sympathy and wanting to do that can’t look away from the car crash thing. I was very impressed that I only wanted to bang my head against the desk when our leading man pulls a Mr. Darcy. I don’t know if naming your leading lady Lizzie gave me the Pride and Prejudice vibes, but Annika Martin really did make Theo Darcyesque! Loved every page! Happy Reading!
Made me laugh!!!
There was just a little too much sex and not enough development of characters!
Just loved the book. The characters were fantastic and the dialogue was original, funny and kept the story really moving. Love your style of writing and the originality.
