A Wall Street Journal bestseller. After a troubling childhood, wealthy Evan Sinclair likes his life orderly and controlled. This was definitely a touching story. The life of Evan Sinclair is one all must read. If you have read Author J.S.Scott’s previous books in this series, I know you will be dying to read all about Evan and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed.
Evan the eldest brother. He’s gruff, extremely handsome and not the type of man you can approach easily without feeling intimidated.
What makes a man like Evan distance himself from his family even though he cares deeply for his siblings. All will become clear. This book though heart breaking will leave you feeling happy.
Evan like his brothers and sister didn’t have the happy child hood whom many take for granted. Their father was not a nice man and that’s putting it mildly.
He suffer greatly but he’s strong in mind and has made a success of his life but who can he share those precious moments with. He’s lonely not that he would ever admit it to anyone let alone his family.
Evan will be visiting his family again soon and more than likely bump into, Randi.
The woman rubs him up the wrong way and vice versa.
Randi recently lost her step mother. It’s a loss she’s finding most difficult to deal with. She feels all alone in the world, sure she has friends but longs to have family around her, it’s something she never had until she came to Amesport.
Randi has a difficult sad story of her own to share. The things she went through as a child shouldn’t have happened.
Evan and Randi have communicated via email for over a year without knowing each other. How is that possible? Life just works in mysterious ways and if people are meant to come together it will happen.
Everything happens for a reason. I’m a great believer in this.
Take the journey of Evan and Randi. I promise you will be happy that you read this book.
Author J.S.Scott thank you for sharing your beautiful and touching story. Although I felt great sadness while reading, the journey came to a wonderful ending and in turn left me feeling happy.
I really enjoyed this book. Tough big brother had his history and troubles of his own. And trying to help all his siblings. M was the perfect woman for him. I want one of those stones from B.
Evan Sinclair is so cold and aloof he puts the ice in iceberg. Stoic and dispassionate doesn’t begin to describe him. Miranda “Randi” Tylerhas a genuine dislike of the man and being paired with him in three Sinclair wedding parties has not done much to change her mind. If only, he wasn’t so damned hot. Likewise, Even can’t get the enigmatic Randi off his mind. She’s either railing at him or ignoring him. Evan and Randi both have deeply buried trauma from their childhoods that explains so much. When Randi stays with Evan during a blizzard they finally give into their yearnings and it’s good, so good. The only problem is they don’t fit into each other’s worlds. Now it’s up to Evan to convince Randi otherwise.
Randi and Evan have got mail and it’s a red hot delivery! Randi was feeling quite incensed when she got back a response to her heartfelt plea to save the Amesport Youth Center. The writer could have just sent a form letter for goodness sakes and anyways Grady Sinclair already came to the Centers rescue months ago so really there was no need for a response whatsoever – but it seems someone over at Sinclair Fund just felt like pouring it on. What started as some barbs back and forth with this man turned into a surprising friendship though once you get pass the tough exterior. She is able to tell S anything and everything – maybe because it’s anonymous but she thinks it’s more than that. Now if she could just get the other beast in her life tamed as easily that would be just gravy! She really did try and be nice to Evan Sinclair. After all it seems with all the Sinclair’s marrying her closest friends she is doomed see him so she tried to be friendly but he wasn’t haven’t it. It also doesn’t help that he is gorgeous and makes her weak-kneed. Evan has always been the wall that protected this siblings. His father’s cruelty often went unchecked, but he shielded them from worst of it. Now he is a man on a island in some ways and it’s a lonely existence but such is life. When he first began emailing with the fiery M he was amazed by a few things – that she was so gutsy and that she didn’t put on airs and he could be himself. He wished he could translate that easy friendship over with his undeniable attraction to Randi Taylor. She drives him wild and insane all in one met little package. When he discovers that M and Randi are one in the same he is floored but knows that she is the perfect match for him. Now he just needs to convince the headstrong Randi that the Evan she knows in person is the same as the S she knows in writing.
Evan has definitely met his match!
This is #03 in the The Sinclair’s Series.
HEA with No cliffhangers!
These are about the members of the Sinclair family. The characters are all involved in each others lives and stories so I would HIGHLY suggest you read them in order.
Content Advisory:
There is sex, dirty talk, and lust fueled cursing.
Evan Sinclair is the last sibling to take a mate. He has always taken care of his younger siblings, or at least tried to. His path has been more difficult than you might think. There is a sad reason why he is so uptight. His father quite literally beat it into him that he was a disabled disappointment. My heart wept for him.
This story is a take on the you’ve got mail theme and starts back at the beginning. The email correspondence starts during the events of book 0.05 when Randi sends an email to the Sinclair Foundation in case Emily isn’t successful in her request for Grady to help save Christmas. Of course Evan is the one to respond to that initial email, and not politely either. Randi’s response is priceless and really sets the whole tone. It lets you know that Evan is in for a ride, and that it’s going to be good!
Miranda “Randi” Tyler has been with us from the beginning. Best friend to Emily, as well as fast friends to the other females in town. She is a teacher by trade, like her parents, but also tutors children at the community center. Her backstory is just as sad as Evan’s. These trust issues make her have some stupid moments, but luckily they don’t last long.
Even though the main siblings are taken care of, the series is not over. Up to this point you should be acquainted with the cousins. They have visited and have been talked about. Micah, Julian, and Xander are the next bachelors up for Beatrice to match with their mates. So don’t fret yourself friends. There is lots more Sinclair goodness to come!
J.S. Scott has made room in the Sinclair family for more. I am very happy for this addition!
Elizabeth Powers continues to narrate and I think will keep doing so in the future titles. This is a positive thing!
Normal speed is fine, however I listened at 0.90x. It worked better for me.
Each Sinclair sibling has had some tough obstacles to overcome and each of their stories are truly inspiring, emotional and romantic. Their happily ever afters have been well deserved especially Evan. His story is exceptionally special, tender and moving. I recommend reading this story but, by reading the whole series you will get a richer experience in understanding these incredible characters.
5 stars coz once again, my ratings may or may not save. Am enjoying this whole series and also went back to read about Hope and Jason, as well.
Love the Sinclairs family, Evan and Randi’s story is wonderful!!
Oh, it was fun to watch Evan lose his control and get to know him and what makes him tick. Randi was not what I was expecting but she fit Evan perfectly. These two were made for each other! Definitely loving this series!!!
Evan’s story is probably one of my favorites. The oldest Sinclair’s book did not disappoint.
I absolutely love the Sinclairs . Evan is the most stubborn of them all. This is definitely a must read. Highly recommend.
