I am so happy to get to read Jordan Burke’s story in The Billionaire’s Stray Heart. This workaholic hero needs to learn that there is more to life than work. He gets a wake-up call when a stray dog saves his life and then he has a meet cute with Madison. I love Ms. Christensen’s books and this series in particular. It was a delight to read this well written. opposites attract romance and to watch Jordan try to change his life style. Will the dog and Madison change Jordan’s life – or will he blow it when the next big deal comes along? I could not put the book down!
Jordon carries guilt over the death of his parents & dog. He becomes a workaholic, afraid to commit to a relationship. But a stray puppy & Madison, a dog trainer, change his life. The change doesn’t come easy because he has to give up his total involvement in his company. There is a happy ending, however.
A love a good meet-cute and this one was adorable, and as an added bonus, it also involved a mischievous little puppy. Jordan and Madison have an instant attraction and Roxie the pup helps bring them together after that first connection.
Is it possible to be a successful billionaire without being a workaholic? Maybe, but definitely not in Jordan’s case. He eats, sleeps, and breaths work, and I love how Roxie and Madison mellow him out, helping him realize there’s more to life than work.
Christensen writes some enchanting scenes that involve both that cute (and somewhat destructive) pup and a charming blossoming romance. It was easy to identify with bits and pieces of the characters and to get caught up in their story. What a lovely, light escape!
Content: mild romance
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book of this series, which may be why I was…disappointed with this one. The conversation seemed jumbled, like it jumped back and forth between ideas without really making connections for me. I also don’t feel like I got to see the characters fall in love. They kissed, so…yay? There was a happy ending, so also yay.
Ah, I figured out what I thought was missing between the impossible hurdle and the happy ending. Conversation. Between the two main characters.
****Burke Billionaire Romance books 1-3
1.Hawaiian Masquerade (Burke Billionaire Romance Book 1):{The review says it all.}
5 stars
I purchased a copy of the novel Hawaiian Masquerade (Burke Billionaire Romance Book 1) by Rachelle J. Christensen and this review was given freely.
Easy flowing with picturesque descriptions, social discrimination, some conflict and drama, and clean romances. Moving away from the multi million dollar Chicago based export business she shares with her brother, Lexi Burke moves to Kauai for a more relaxing life but a dramatic first meeting with struggling photographer Derek Mitchell in an art store brings her more than she bargained for.
2.The Billionaire’s Stray Heart (Burke Billionaire Romance Book 2): {A little stiff and too repetitive. I skimmed the last half.}
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the novel The Billionaire’s Stray Heart (Burke Billionaire Romance Book 2) by Rachelle J. Christensen and this review was given freely.
A highly descriptive and emotion packed sequel with a surprise ending but I found it a little repetitive. Lexi’s brother and billionaire exporter Jordan falls in love with dog trainer Maddie and a stray puppy resulting in shorter work hours, a closer relationship with his sister,a rocky romance and a more balanced life.
3.The Refugee’s Billionaire (Burke Billionaire Romance Book 3)
stars
I purchased a copy of the novella The Refugee’s Billionaire (Burke Billionaire Romance Book 3)by Rachelle J. Christensen and this review was given freely.
This book ties the first two together in that it includes Lexi and Jordan’s prior assistant Shawn, Burke’s Higher Steps charity and the Atlanta Refugee center which is one of Lexi’s favorite charities. Single Mom and former Cuban refugee Carolina meets Shawn when he visits to determine the Center’s needs. A rocky courtship caused by worry about losing the Center and Shawn’s ability to stay in Atlanta ultimately ends happily.
Jordan is all about work. He doesn’t believe he has time for anything else. When something dramatic happens, he meets Madison and rethinks his position. Madison can’t help but be attracted to Jordan although hesitant. When an opportunity arises, will Jordan put work first again? Will Jordan and Madison find what they each need? This story was so good, and I highly recommend it.
