Billionaire celebrity chef Christopher Denton is back in his hometown, hoping to win a local baking contest and gain some much-needed publicity before launching his new show. The only possible glitch in the plan is knowing Mara Lancaster, the girl who broke his heart back in high school, is his competition. Though his pulse is racing in that old familiar way, he plays it cool, not wanting Mara to … to know how much seeing her has affected him. Maybe if he acts like he doesn’t care, his traitorous heart will listen. But as the competition heats up, so do his thoughts about her. Mara’s even more gorgeous now and he’s finding it difficult to keep his eyes—and his hands—off her.
Mara has to win the Christmas gingerbread house competition. This isn’t a game to her: it’s her entire future, because she needs the prize money to start her own bakery. Nothing will get in the way of that dream. Certainly not an egotistical, bad boy billionaire chef, even if he makes her blood sizzle and her mind turn to cookie batter—just like he did when they were teenagers. She can’t deny their attraction, though, and the more time they spend together, the more Mara sees the boy she loved before accidentally breaking his heart. And she likes what she sees. Chris is kind and really a bit of a softy, despite his hard exterior.
But just when Mara thinks things between her and Chris might end sweetly, her ex shows up on the scene and leaves Mara wondering if it will all crumble—just like a gingerbread house…

Sometimes, you can have it all. Chris billionaire celebrity chef participates in the Glenford gingerbread breaking contest. His high school crush, Mara is his stiffest competition, as they are the finalists. Mara needs the winner’s purse to start hew own bakery. Chris needs the win for publicity and to gain creative control on his TV baking show. They have to smother their rekindled feelings in order to focus on the win. Chris seems to have brought heavy emotional baggage which he insists on dragging with him. Will Chris set his baggage down long enough to see what’s in front of him? Will Mara focus on her heart? What happens after the contest? Nice story! Likeable characters, good to see how the family is doing. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Billionaire’s Second Chance Christmas is book three in Leslie North’s Christmas with the Denton Billionaires and it was a fabulous ending to this festive series. Chris and Mara were an extremely likeable couple and their story was packed with the expected angst, drama and misunderstandings that plague the characters of Ms North’s stories, but their eventual HEA was written with emotion and everlasting love. Fun and laughter were also included in this wonderful second chance romance.
I really liked this story and characters. The storyline pulled me in from the beginning and held my attention until the end.
The characters are interesting and fun I enjoyed the chemistry between them.

The Billionaires Second Chance Christmas by Leslie North. This is Chris and Mara story. This is a good Christmas read. Chris and Mara dated back in school but she broke his heart. Now fast forward to the present and he’s back to compete in a backing competition and one of the competitors is Mara. When he sees her old feelings start to come back. Now they cant stay away from each other. I enjoyed watching them falling in love again and how the angry feeling they felt made for some hot sex scenes. I wasn’t ready for their story to end.

When Chris and Mara met again after their years apart for the Gingerbread Baking contest, they both thought they were over reach other. After their breakup their senior year they each went their separate ways.
Realizing their chemistry they were able to both compete in the contest and rekindle their relationship once the air was cleared from seeing Mara being kissed by another guy.
Chris realized that the best way to accomplish his goals was to have Mara in his life and they were able to make their relationship work and Mara was also able to realize her’s also.

Chris Denton, a well-known celebrity chef has to meet his former high school sweetheart in a televised bake-off. Many of the old feelings return – and not all of them are pleasant.
A really nice story, set in the pre-Christmas season, but does not really play much into it.
Although the topic is nothing special, it is a fun read and entertaining – especially when Chris loses his cool and becomes more human

This is a wonderful second chance romance. I liked Christopher and Mara. I thought both characters were likable and I felt that they were an easy couple to root for. It was easy to feel pull of attraction and zing of chemistry that flowed between them. The book has a fun story line that is filled with emotions, heat, sweetness and drama. In total, I felt that this was a thoroughly enjoyable read!
When Christopher Denton returned to his hometown hoping to win a local baking contest and gain some publicity so more attention would be brought to his new show he knew his competition was Mara Lancaster, his high school sweetheart whose relationship ended on a bitter note when Mara accidentally broke Christopher’s heart. To make matters even worse Dan Montey showed up at the contest, he had been the whole cause of their breakup and he wanted to meet with Mara later to “catch up” which she knew held the hint of sex as catching up.
The electric current was still there between Chris and Mara so they gave in to a weekend of “catching up” which seemed to cause a ripple on Monday when they went back to the competition. Mara felt Chris has betrayed her and let the reporters know they were seeing each other.
Chris had his dream to chase and Mara had her dream to chase but her dream required the prize money whereas Chris did not even need the prize money but he had no clue about Mara’s dream until the contest was over and he accidentally bumped into Dan who filled him in on what she had planned on doing with the prize money.
Chris made Mara an offer she could not refuse involving the prize money from the contest and him graveling to get her to take him back.
Grab a copy and see these two bakers go at it as they build their ginger bread villages and enjoy the HEA.
This is the third book in the Denton Billionaire’s series and is a super second chance romance. The storyline was good and I really enjoyed it. This is Christopher and Mara’s story these two both need to win but for different reasons. I thought they were good together and their book was a great addition to the series.
Good, fun, well developed story where the main characters do get their happy ever after
A good way to wile away a couple of hours.

Gingerbread competition
Ok, over all, I liked this book, but had some issues. Spoilers. Stop here.
One, Chris shouldn’t have won the competition. It’s too trite. And in every American food competition the guy always wins. Time to get over that stereotype.
Two, Mara instantly forgave him without any real contrition on his part. I hated that he just gave her the check and she was cool with it. CHRIS had serious trust issues and jealousy and insecurity is never foxy.
What I liked.
Mara was pretty cool.
I did like that Chris was nervous around her.
I liked bit characters and liked that he wasn’t a player.

I will admit this one didn’t grab me from the get go like the other two Denton Brother books, but once I got into it it was a good read. Chris seems fairly smarmy and over confident to begin with while Mara is all sass which puts him in his place. Rivalry, old feels and a build up of tension/attraction turns this competition into soo much more than just needing to win it so they can jump start to their new careers.
