USA Today Bestseller Leslie North invites you to indulge in a steamy billionaire romance with a unforgettable bad boy billionaire and the smart-talking woman who tames him…Billionaire Connor McClellan knows the worth of a woman—at least in business dealings. Which is why he depends on Rosalie Bridges, the ever-reliable outreach manager from his Aspen office, to pose as his girlfriend when he … girlfriend when he woos a potential client. Connor’s next client represents the only business he’s ever lost. Gaining them back would make his record perfect. He assumes that Rosalie is available—only to find that she’s pissed off at him and pregnant…with his baby. Their hookup at a previous business meeting was the hottest of his life, and now it’s the most complicated, too. Still, they need to fake this relationship to land the deal. But Rosalie isn’t interested in playing along.
Rosalie has wanted Connor from a distance for years, and always thought she’d get her chance to impress him when he came to Aspen. After they’d hooked up, she thought she was making headway, but when Connor sent carnations along with a generic note and didn’t call till he needed her again, she decided she was done being used.
With Connor desperately needing to land this deal, and Rosalie no longer willing to be a part of his fake relationship scheme—especially with a baby on the way—a deal of a different kind needs to be struck. She’ll be his fake girlfriend one last time, and in exchange she’ll get the promotion to head the region’s outreach and out of his life. As much as she wishes to be with Connor and have him help raise their child, she isn’t sure she can risk her heart on a man used to taking others for granted. But Connor isn’t planning on letting her get away without a fight. He’s got a week while they woo the client together to win her back—and if there’s one thing Connor knows how to do, it’s win.
As business and pleasure become further intertwined, Connor realizes for once in his life he’d like this fake relationship to be something more. If the two of them can pull this off, they may land the deal, and the love, to last them a lifetime.

Leslie North has a story here that is more common than one would think. A smart, hard-working young woman falls in love with her boss and gets caught up in what has served her well–pleasing the authority. Meanwhile, the boss, concentrating on his own goals, takes his employee for granted, taking advantage, even thinking he’s appreciating her while she denigrates her talent and abilities to make him look good and feel better about himself! The only solution: being willing to call the whole relationship quits, losing the benefits and the love, which is what the heroine eventually does! You’ll find out only in the epilog if this book has a happy ending. I volunteered this review from an ARC.
I’ve read a lot of books written by Leslie North; she has done a great job at writing another good book; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.

I liked the way Connor and Rosalie stared out as a pretend couple and it changed to more. I am glad that Connor was finally able to see all the potential of Rosalie. I also loved that in the end when they got their happy ending they also ended up being great friends with Ed and Dora.

He’s got zero game and no social skills.
Connor only thinks of two things. Winning and business. He teams up with the awesome Rosalie as a fake couple to win business deals. But she wants more. From him and from the job he’s kept her in way too long. And after a hook up that he blows, carnations, people! She’s pregnant and he’s still focused on winning the one that got away. No, not Rosalie, Ed, a potential business deal.
Will he ever mend his ways?
Cuz his clueless was relentless.

I really enjoyed this story, it’s fast-paced and quick to read. This is the first book in the McClellen Billionaires series, it can be read as a standalone story. The storyline is interesting and even though I wanted to smack Connor at times for being a complete twit, I loved how he stepped to the plate when he learned about the pregnancy. Rosalie is sweet and I really liked her, especially when she decided to do the right thing for herself. I can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.

The story of Connor and Rosalie is sweet and heartwarming. Connor is sharp in business but obtuse as a boyfriend. But I’m glad to see the HEA they so deserved!

Will Rosalie ever be more than just Connor’s fake girlfriend
Leslie writes romantic stories that quickly engage the reader to never put the book down until the last page is turned! Connor’s use of Rosalie as his fake girlfriend in business deals works until the deal that got away is back on the table. Add in an unexpected addition to their fake romance and Connor is fumbling the deal and a future with Rosalie. Will Connor learn how to win Rosalie’s heart in time? You have to read to find out!
Love this story, which to me is an emotional tug of war of a workaholic, completely consumed with winning and a dedicated yet taken for granted assistant. He gets a rude awakening though, will his drive to win in the end cause him to lose? Love Rosalie, great realistic character clearly his (better) other half, lol. I think she smooths out his rough edges and calms the storms he rages by being a bit pushy and demanding toward a business deal, she can hold her own when it comes to the business deals but she’s more nurturing and reaches the client on another level. They’re a dynamic duo, she’s his bait and he’s the hook. Story sure captured me. I love how the author wrote the pregnancy scene, was thrilled (shocked and excited) when Rosalie “dropped the mic” on Connor, was touched at his efforts to recover from his fumble and very pleased with their end results. I enjoyed Rosalie and Connor’s story. It was an interesting twist to have the billionaire CEO use an employee as his fake girlfriend, rather than the typical trope of one night stands or social climbers.
I also liked that Rosalie was a hard worker who prided herself on doing a good job. She was ambitious but also moral. Connor shares similar traits with other CEO’s I’ve read about, in that they don’t tend to value their female employees until their female employees reach their limits.
I only wish the story was longer.

Don’t know what you got till it’s gone…
Let’s start by stating that Connor was as clueless as a man could be. For most of this story that fact made me want to smack him upside the head. If it wasn’t for Rosalie he probably would have lost a lot of business. There was several times I felt Rosalie should have just walked away for good. Needless to say, it took me quite a long time to decide the two should stay together. Why the 4 stars you may ask? Simple…Ms. North made me “feel” vested in the story.

I really didn’t connect with the characters & felt the story didn’t quite flow enough for my liking. It seemed a bit disjointed. Maybe it was the spacing?
Rosalie was a good character so my points go to her but Connor was too wishy washy for me. He didn’t seem to have it altogether.
I’m sure it would appeal to maybe a younger reader?

Connor is a self made tech billionaire but often misses social cues. Rosalie runs the Aspen office for Connor’s company and has been his fake girlfriend when wining and dining clients. The chemistry between them makes the relationship seem real which creates the impression that Connor is settled and responsible. After completing an especially difficult deal and champagne, Connor and Rosalie act on their chemistry, with unexpected results for Rosalie. Connor has no further contact with Rosalie for six weeks – he is surprisingly clueless, even for an IT guy. And he just doesn’t understand why Rosalie is furious with him when he shows up expecting her to play his girlfriend again to win over the client who got away.
This story is a fun workplace romance that feels accurate. Connor is a smart man, but is so focused on winning deals and being successful that he does not treat Rosalie well and he doesn’t even realize it. Rosalie is very well drawn and the sort of heroine that you find yourself congratulating as the story progresses. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, making this an enjoyable read.

Rosalie works for Connor and she has had a crush on him the entire time. When he needed a fake girlfriend, Rosalie stepped up to the plate and posed as Connors girl to help him win contracts or his software. She is a detail person and handles all of the logistics and makes Connor look great. When a celebration of another successful contract leads to them sleeping together, Rosalie imagines more. When Rosalie is disappointed about Connors response after their night together she vows not to act as his fake girlfriend again. She deserves better. When Connor shows up wondering why Rosalie is not responding to his messages and they both discover that she is pregnant, Connor strikes up a new deal with Rosalie. Lets not be in a fake relationship, let me woo you into a real relationship. Will they find true love of will Connor’s desire to win cost him the thing he wants the most?

This book made me frustrated at times! Connor had no idea how badly he was missing the mark with Rosalie. I wanted to smack him up and down the street. They really are kind of a crazy couple and I liked how the story came together!

Connor McClellan, CEO of McClellan Technology Group, was terrible at remembering his important clients’ names – so he was even more grateful to have Rosalie Bridges to keep everything running smoothly. Because she was so skilled at getting him out of situations and covering up his identity mistakes, he took her on as his fake fiancée to keep her close. One evening after all the clients had left the lodge his company had rented for the weekend retreat, Connor and Rosalie decided to move the fake fiancée role a bit further along. Instead of sending her roses as promised, he sent along a generic floral choice… carnations.
Now the “client who got away”, before Connor had Rosalie keeping him on track, is back and Connor wants Rosalie to be his fake fiancée again. But aside from feeling unappreciated, their little tryst together ended up in pregnancy. And he never recognized her for all she did for him. Will she refuse his request this time? Will she help with the client he was so determined to win this time around? And how would he react that he was going to be a father?
This was an interesting story line. Connor was not nerdy enough to make his name-forgetfulness seem actually real and believable. I would think knowing names and lots of information about clients would be second-nature to a successful billionaire. But Rosalie’s role to assist and support him would definitely be helpful. The bottom line is that Connor had to make a choice about what was truly important to him. What would he decide? Grab your copy and find out!
This is an interesting and entertaining boss/assistant romance between Conor and Rosalie. The author does a great job building their chemistry up till it reaches the boiling point which results in a surprise they didn’t expect. She brings drama as well as the romance and delivers another well written book that I enjoyed reading.
