My hero when I thought I’d lost it all, he wanted more than I could give… how eager my heart was to be filled with love for the man.
We were a recipe for disaster: I wasn’t in his league, and he didn’t believe in love.
And I didn’t believe in living a life without it…

I received a free ARC copy of Island of Love series and am giving a honest review.
Galen Dunne is a genius billionaire who owns Paradise Island resort. He doesn’t believe in love but he loves sex.
Ariel Pendragon is homeless with a father who is dead and a mother dying of cancer. Galen Dunne becomes her angel. Talking on the phone and before meeting Ariel, he can feel a connection to her. She is special. He brings her to Paradise Resort.
He has a job set up for her as a maid. He also make sure she has clothes and everything else she would need. She had nothing living on the streets and he wants to give her everything. Galen can’t stop touching her, although innocent in intent he feels the electricity. He even is jealous when she talks to another man. This is a totally foreign feeling for him.
Her attraction to Galen has Ariel confused too. He has given her everything. He is her boss and he has a love and leave them reputation. She can’t have it go bad and lose her job and security. Galen presses her for sex just for fun. She tells him she will not sleep with him, only to a man she loves and who loves her.
Galen is challenged by Ariel, she slips into his heart with him fighting every step of the way. She finally gets a compromise from Galen. He will leave his heart open to the possibility of love, although he doesn’t believe it will ever happen.
Going home for Christmas we meet Galen’s family. He loves them dearly and make sure they have every comfort. His mom is a tough woman who takes no crap from Galen, no matter how much money he has. The teasing with his siblings and in laws definitely shows his lighter side.
Everything fall to pieces on Christmas eve. Ariel takes off from the house. Crushed, Galen will move heaven and earth to find her. He realizes too late he can’t live without Ariel. I felt so bad for Galen. He needed to find her.
Their romance starts off slow but soon the chemistry is undeniable. They spend every day and night in bed. I wanted the story to be over at this point. True to form though Michelle Love has more twists up her sleeve. This story had me hoping everytime I turned the page that the couple would be back together.
I do have a problem with a plot point. In book one we have Galen and Ariel meeting for the first time. She is a new hire already working at Paradise. In book three Galen talks to Ariel on the phone and brings her to his island. He meets her at the airport in person for the first time. We do have some characters from earlier books but they have minor interactions and will not confuse you. The story also like the others does end on a happily ever after.
