A Second Chance For Jillian and Everett
This is the second of ten books in the Secret Billionaires Club Series. What a great group of men guaranteed to set your Kindle on fire and spice up your life. They’re all billionaires, gorgeous and sexy as he…. This is the story of Everett and Jillian. He’s not into commitment or anything permanent. This story is centered around St. Patrick’s Day. They knew each other in high school and are reconnected when he’s injured and she’s his nurse. Lots of drama and some turmoil as they sort through their different problems and hangup. The book is short and the ending is a little rushed and leaves some things up in the air. Overall a good read that I read as a reader copy and voluntarily chose to review.
Everett, his friends and this “game” is turning into a hilarious affair but sometimes you just don’t know what you really want until you see it…again. I like Jillian, she is very dedicated to her son & her career. Their attraction is instantly rekindled forcing them to rethink or maybe overthink….. Short, sweet second chance story with a few life lessons for them both. Money can’t buy love, but this billionaire is lucky. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
I’d already started falling in love with this unique group of men in the first book, and this one encouraged me to fall a little farther. Everett provides us with a new layer to the definition of commitment-phobic. Jillian has obligations that would make the most marriage-minded man think twice. And yet somehow, a connection from their youth has been burning all along and flares up when the two encounter each other again after a near-fatal accident. The short format of this book means everything happens quickly. And there’re a few loose ends left by the time this story is over, so I’m really looking forward to the next book to see if we learn more about them.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
It do enjoyed this second book in a series even better than the first one.
Everett is phobic of engagement, so much he never ever had a relationship, only seeking no strings attached encounters. So when he rekindles with long lost from view kind of friend, he does not know where he stands. Run for the exit or follow his instincts.
Jillian had a crush for Everett when a teens, but it’s been a while and since she has moved and has built a life for herself, if not perfect, it is one with those she loves. So when she sees him after so many years, what does she expect?
I do wonder if we will see more of them in the coming books as the book ends with a happily for now.
When a military exercise goes wrong, Everett finds himself in hospital, where the nurse attending him seems to be familiar. Reconnecting with his high school crush leaves Everett feeling confused as he has no time for romance or any other kind of commitment. Jillian has her own problems, not that she is complaining, but having a special needs child and responsibilities at home, leave her little time for relationships. Nevertheless, when the opportunity presents itself, both Everett and Jillian find it impossible to deny their attraction for one another. After making a bumbling offer that has Jillian running for the hills, Everett thinks he has lost his chance with her. This is a sensuous but clean romance that can be read in an evening, It is also well written and arouses one’s emotions, making one wish that Everett was a little less controlling and Jillian a little more open to accepting help. Although part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone that comes to a happy close. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I loved reading Everett’s story and how he was going actually going to find love. It was fun reading how out of the rest of his friends, he was the one avoiding the holiday date, yet he ended up on it anyway. Him and Jill were cute together and their chemistry was palpable. I am disappointed that they didn’t have a full sexy scene and would have loved to read more of their future. I am hoping we see more of them in the future books in the series.
Everett was in a tank playing war games in Australia. He steps out and their tank is hit and his hands are burned as he pulls a friend, who is on fire, out. The next thing he knows he is in a hospital. He’s a determined bachelor but their is something striking about his red headed nurse. Jillian once kissed him 15 years ago and is still attracted to him. She was married before but he left when their son, Jack, got sick. She is now a single mom with a son in a wheelchair. They get to talking and attraction draws them together.
This is a contemporary romance that is worth reading. The characters are well defined, interesting and likeable. They go through emotional drama as they deal with their internal fears and struggles and external barriers. The storyline is easy to read and keeps your interest. Of the five books, I have read in this series, this is my favourite so far. I enjoyed the interplay between the characters and her family. It is a touching love story that can be read in one sitting. I look forward to more books in this series.
This is a fun and entertaining story that I enjoyed reading. The characters are captivating. The plot interesting and fun to read. Everett is injured and his nurse is Jillian, his crush from school. Jillian is a single mom with no time for romance. They both have problems and no interest in relationships. There is plenty of drama, sparks, humor and romance. I found this story easy and fun to read.
My review …..
This book is part of a series (but they can be read on their own)
Everett likes his life, no he “loves” his life, no family, no commitment, only fun, and the military, he doesn’t need anything else, well maybe his buddies in the “secret billionaire’s club” but that’s it.
Jillian is a nurse who has seen many injured people come through her hospital. She wants an easier life, and when an old “crush” comes through her doors and makes her a crazy offer, she does take much time to think about it.
I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of this story, they don’t really connect for me, the story just doesn’t flow as well as I thought it should. And the ending does leave it open (will we see more of a commitment in other books?!)
Fated love.Who would have thought that you would end up with the boy of your high school obsession? Jillian never expected to come face to face with Everett, but when he gets hurt, they are thrown into each other’s paths. Everett realizes that all he wants to do is ease Jillian’s burdens.
This was a cute fast read with engaging characters.
The perfect quick escape.
