I pretended to be the girlfriend of one of the richest men in New York City. It was only meant to be the one time. I mean, it was the week before Christmas, I was shopping with my best friend and we were hungry and wanted to dine at the new swanky restaurant on the Upper West Side. For some reason the hostess misheard me when I mentioned Max Parker’s name. I’d been complaining that he was the … was the reason why I’d lost my job. Who was I to correct her when it meant that “my relationship” had caused a table to suddenly open up?
And then the next week I accidentally let it slip that Max Parker was my boyfriend to get into an exclusive club. And then there was the time when I saw that Chanel handbag and Prada shoes. I mean, it didn’t really hurt anyone, did it? It was just a little white lie.
How was I to know that my fake boyfriend would find out that I’d been using his name? Now he’s blackmailing me into playing his fake fiancé (Fiancée) in an arrangement that could only be classified as risqué. Turns out if I want to keep my apartment and not move home with my parents, I’m going to have to play along with his game. Only he’s going to have to go along with my rules as well and while he smirks at that idea he doesn’t know that I’ve got a plan of my own.

Charlotte lost her job due to a takeover so she fuming mad complaining to her friends about Max Parker who she thinks is some stodgy old man. She’s overheard by a hostess at a restaurant that she and he friends are trying to get a table at and out spirals the lie that she is Max’s girlfriend. Charlotte continues to drop his name and before you know it her little white lie spirals out of control. This was a great quick read with humor and swoon worthy moments.
I loved the plot of the story and was really into it, but probably about 75% way through the book give or take the story seemed to glaze over the details and just hit the bold points on the outline. I wish the author would have added more details to the book for further plot/character development or perhaps wrote a second book if they were worried about the book being too long.
A really fun and sweet romance. Charlotte starts pretending that she is Max Parker’s girlfriend but then gets caught by Max. He then proposes a fake arrangement with Charlotte as compensation for her lie. There is attraction between the two which leads to some pretty steamy scenes. The best parts are the email exchanges between Max and Charlotte as they are fun and will make you smile and laugh!
I received a free advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a fair and honest review.
A theme I never seem to get tired of especially when an authors puts their own spin on things like this one did it felt like an almost new concept with characters that worked so well together

This was such a great fun book to read, absolutely loved their romance and their back and forth emails were so entertaining, couldn’t help but make you smile I actually got the second book as an arc and then realised this book came first so of course had to start at the beginning and so glad I did! Going to start book 2 now
This book ended up as a 50/50 split for me. Originally, I was intrigued by the blurb. I thought the plot sounded fun and I was excited to read it. After I finished reading this book though I was left with mixed feelings. I still think the concept behind this book was a great one. I just feel it fumbled on the way to success. What could have been a enjoyable meet-cute, innocent mistake plot device turned into avarice and selfishness. I found this particularly offensive considering the grudge Charlotte held against Max. This totally ruined the character of Charlotte for me. Max was OK, but I did not love him. There are some funny moments and clever banter to be enjoyed but for me this was much more of a loss than a win. This is my candid review that I am freely choosing to post.
This was one great story!
I loved every word of it and I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read the other stories as well! Charlotte is a sweetheart who gets carried away in a lie about being the girlfriend of Max, a billionaire.
Max is intrigued and contacts her…
if you want to know what happens next and read their hilarious email exchanges, you have to read the book!

This book caught my attention from the opening. This book was funny, sexy and hot. Max and Chat were freaking made for each other. They gave to just as good as it gets to each other. There banter is funny and cute. Who knew a white lie could lead you to the man of your dreams. Can’t wait to read about her friends and see how there love life pan out.

This is a quick fun read that kept me laughing. I have been reading J.S.Cooper for a while now and she never disappoints. The women are smart, funny, and have strong female support. Max is mysterious but funny and a compliment to Charlotte’s fiery side. I received this as an ARC and voluntarily give my review.
The story line and character work were good. The book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a great way to start a series.

Good book just not any sparks
Charlotte Johnson can’t believe her bad luck … she lost her job and her little white lie about being billionaire Max Parker fiancée ends up as front page news. Just when Charlotte thinks things can’t get any worse, the handsome reporter she thought was following her turns out to be Max Parker. When Max offers Charlotte $15,000 a week to be his fake fiancée, she gleefully accepts. It’s been so long since Charlotte’s been with a man who excites her, but is it worth it to become involved with Max?
The Billionaire’s Fake Fiancée is a funny, drama-filled and steamy story full of twists and turns
5 STARS for The Billionaire’s Fake Fiancé
ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.
This book was off the charts SO GOOD !!!
It’s a throughly entertaining ROM-COM with some unexpected plot twists. I read in just one sitting !
This is the story of Max & Charlotte. Max – aka The Billionaire & Charlotte an out of work graphic artist who has dreams of becoming an actress. Act she does as Max’s fake finance someone he hasn’t even met! Things start innocently when Charlotte name drops that she happens to be dating NY’s most eligible bachelor – innocently using her new boyfriends name to snag a vintage Chanel bag & next thing she knows her name is tied to Max’s in the news …
As with a number of this author’s heroines you will quickly fall in love with Charlotte. She is smart – gorgeous , a bit quirky & at present a little bit “down” in the luck department. Sparks fly as soon as Max meets his fake fiancé & he offers her an acting gig – to play his fiancé for real for 8-12 weeks while he negotiates a very important business deal with a Japenese company he has been trying to work with for 2 years.
Things don’t go quite as according to plan …
This book is LOL funny with some sizzling texts & emails between Max & Charlotte.

Max And Charlotte’s Story Is A Zany Over-The-Top Quick Read That Will Have You Laughing Out Loud!
This is the first book in the Alpha Boyfriends series about three best friends who meet during freshman year at Columbia University in New York. Charlotte, Emily, and Anabel, all twenty-five now, are young and single in New York City. Book one is Charlotte and Max’s story. Emily’s story follows in book two. In it she has a one night stand with Liam Montgomery, but things get awkward afterward. In book three, Anabel’s secret lost love is finally revealed when Luca reappears in her life.
Charlotte Johnson, twenty-five, has just lost her job thanks to Max Parker, the CEO of Parker Corporation. Her company had been bought out by his. The employees had been promised jobs once the deal was complete, but that was a lie. Charlotte now has thirty days to get a paycheck or she will have to pack up and move back to her parents’ home in Florida. She loves her life in New York and doesn’t want to leave her best friends Emily and Anabel. And although she loves her parents, she hasn’t been back in years. Brandon had left her and she still cannot face the memories back home. Bottom line: she hates Max Parker for putting her in this position.
When Anabel takes her and Emily out to lunch at a new hotspot, Charlotte takes the opportunity to rip into him again while they wait in line. But in a mix-up she is taken for Max Parker’s girlfriend and ushered to a table. Soon the news spreads, and before she knows it a seemingly harmless lie turns into an angry email from Max Parker himself.
Max Parker, thirty, made his fortune buying and restructuring companies. He is a Harvard Business School grad, but he credits his time in the military for helping him work through some issues and making him who is today. When he learns that Charlotte Johnson has been claiming to be his girlfriend, he can’t help but be curious. And when he meets her, he can’t help but kiss her. And propose that she be his fake fiancée.
Max and Charlotte’s story is a zany over-the-top quick read that will have you laughing and out loud. The couple has incredible chemistry and fantastic banter. Charlotte is sweet yet bold, while Max has layers hidden beneath his tough façade. It all pulls together in the end with a few tears and a happy ending. It closes with hints of Emily’s upcoming story.
Max and Charlotte’s steamy story is a light and playful quick read. The story is well-written. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are nicely developed given the length. The story is written in first person from Charlotte’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.
Charlotte was using Max’s name to get into clubs and buy things.
Max has no idea who this women is and why she is using his name. Two weeks earlier she was sitting with her friend Anabel about what an a**h*le she said that Max Parker all he cares about is money not people. Because of Max Parker she was out of a job. When he bought the small company he told her boss he would keep the employees which was a lie. Charlotte made the mistake of using Max Parker saying she was his girlfriend. Finally Max Parker contacted her and told her to not use his name again especially since his girlfriend was not happy with all the publicity.
He told her that she had to get the story rescinded and pay him $10,000.00. She told him off and that started emailing back and forth being as rude as she could. To make matters worse a reporter kept hounding her about Max and then kissed her. Meanwhile Charlotte couldn’t get over Brandon even though it had been a couple of years. Max offered Charlotte a job as his fake fiancé because he needed to close a deal and they want to deal with someone who was stable. Charlotte needed the money so she decided to play along. Max also had a secret that he wasn’t going to share with Charlotte.
Charlotte is upset because she is out of work, due to billionaire Max Parker purchasing the place she works at. While complaining about it to her friend, the hostess misunderstands her conversation! She assumes Charlotte is Max Parker’s fiance’. How can a little white lie hurt right? Lol, it’s so funny how she let’s it go out of control.
This was a such a funny and entertaining read. Loved the storyline, and their narrative, this story flowed perfectly. It’s a fast paced, well detailed story!
I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
