The comedy in this book OH.MY.GOD is just fabulous. I was literally laughing while reading this book. ~Bed and Books I’m no Prince Charming, and the last thing I want is a Cinderella. My instructions were simple: scour the city for a fake fiancée who’s not my type at all. Have her on my jet Monday morning, dressed for a yacht vacation. I need a woman believable enough to convince a certain … enough to convince a certain client that I’ve changed my playboy ways…yet too annoying to tempt me—no emotional entanglements, thank you very much. This is business only.
If she’s unfazed by my looks and wealth, all the better. Should be easy. Right?
Apparently not, because my people go and hire Tabitha. My hairdresser.
What were they thinking? Yes, I said annoying, but I didn’t mean her, the most aggravating woman in the world.
Tabitha is sunshiny. She has a pet hamster. She loves Hello Kitty, and she gets under my skin like nobody else.
As if that’s not bad enough, the minute we step on deck, she thinks that certain people on the yacht are up to something shady—based completely on her soap opera knowledge. She won’t listen when I tell her she’s being ridiculous.
But as the days go by, I find that we’re actually having fun. And our fake kisses are heating up. And suddenly her wild theories aren’t sounding so strange after all…

I loved this book so hard! It is the perfect Rom-Com! Rex and Tabitha were original, and authentic, and explosively hot. I loved spending time with them and catching up with old billionaire friends, including Smuckers!
What I loved about Tabitha and Rex was the acceptance.
This wasn’t your typical grumpy one falls for the sunshine one, opposites attract, trope.
Childhood tragedies and hardships drove Tabitha and Rex to develop opposite ways to cope – she handles everything in life with fun and humor and bright colors, while he becomes hard and closed off and basically hating anything remotely resembling fun.
And the best part was – she loved him just like that and never once saw him as anything other than his true self or tried to change him. And he loved her the same way.
Even before she saw his soft side, even before he saw her hard one.
They peel each other’s layers off slowly, fearfully, with care and respect, and with this grand emotion of loving someone just so.
Martin is the go to when it comes to irresistible, unpredictable, entertaining, over the top romance. A curmudgeonly playboy that has everything to lose and a one of a kind firecracker that has everything to gain, The Billionaire’s Fake Fiancee is masterfully, delicious fun. Rex and Tabitha will have your heart racing, jaw dropping and temperature rising with their hilarious antics. Martin takes emotions on a crazy, sexy, cool escapade that will bring on a multitude of smiles.
Really great book. Couple are great characters separately and fabulous together. The book has several funny, cute, and cringing moments. But all wraps up in a wonderful way.
Fun!
Wanna go on a emotional rollercoaster ride ???? This book is for you. The story has a lot of drama with a sprinkler of romance .
A tale of a stock market workoholic billionaire Rex who knows nothing but to stick to his roots and never forget the struggle to come this far in life. Tabitha a hairdresser who is full of life a fan of soap opera and hello kitty she doesn’t believe the fairy tales be it cindrella .
In order to land a big client Rex decides to hire a fiancee describing his hate list cum hairdresser qualities and there the story begins .
Tabitha brings out the softer side of his crush Rex out make him do things he has never done before like taking a hot bath or acting all detective with her .
The best thing about the novel is how you never give up on loving someone and try to set things right .
This tale is not a typical happily ever after it’s the amazing journey to it with a lots of ups and downs
Highly recommended to all romance lovers .
This book cracked me up. I laughed so many times. Love these characters!
I have enjoyed all the books in this series, but this one is my favorite! It has every single one of my favorite tropes packed into one entertaining read.
Grumpy/Sunshine
Fake Fiancée
Close Proximity
Sexy Billionaire
So much fun! I stayed up way too late reading this, and if you love those tropes, you will too.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! She was so funny and his complete opposite. But as they say, opposites attract. She was able to get him to relax and enjoy life (along with solving a mystery in the middle of all that!!)
This is my first book by this author and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. What I got was snappy banter, a great friend group and the classic grumpy/sunshine trope done so well I couldn’t help but be swept away. Neva Nevarre is such a ray of light bringing bubbly, glittery hair dresser Tabitha to life, while Jason Clarke shines as billionaire grump Rex, who thinks numbers are better than people until Tabby comes along. This is a standalone in this authors Billionaires in Manhattan series but can be read as a standalone as I did. What I loved most about this was how unashamedly funny it was. You can’t beat funny in these times. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.
I am always, always, always happy when I read an Annika Martin romcom, and this is no exception!
Rex O’Rourke is a workaholic, focused solely on his career and his company, and he has a reputation as a playboy because he doesn’t sleep with the same woman twice. He’s got too much work to do to make any promises and get involved! But now, his reputation has caught up with him and work is on the line!
Enter a fake fiancee to help put his reputation behind him and seal the deal. His assistant finds him a fake financee that could NOT be less appropriate as far as Rex is concerned! Enter Tabitha Evans, vivacious, loud, and in technicolor!
The audio of this book is also OUTRAGEOUSLY FUNNY! Neva Nevarre is amazing as the vivacious Tabitha, and Jason Clarke is grumpy, growly and gruff as Rex. They were PERFECTLY cast in this opposites-attract rom com. So, so, so, so good and so much fun to listen to.
I really loved this audio! The narration was INCREDIBLE. The sex scenes were great. The chemistry was there. The comedy had me laughing. I really DID feel like I was watching a soap opera at times like it was suppose to be. I was on the edge of my seat wondering if they were going to get caught with those toenail clippings. Rex and Tabitha were simply amazing. I really loved everything about this and I would listen to every book in this series. It was FANTASTIC. *THANK YOU VALENTINE PR*
I have read all the books in this series and each one is special in its own way. Annika Martin writes fantastic women characters. Tabitha was smart, strong, funny and endearing but all that came from emotions she guarded from her past.
Rex was a “one and done”, workaholic, antisocial, grumpy billionaire boss that also came from dubious beginnings. They teamed up for a fake relationship deception to land Rex some business.
The story is either Tabitha chipping away at Rex’s icy heart or Rex scaling the walls of Tabitha’s, sometimes both. You will love Rex’s approach to the carnal arts complete with descriptive dialogue and his skilled stoking of the flames. Well worth the read!
This is the fourth in the Billionaires of Manhattan series by Annika Martin. I loved this funny, light, entertaining story.
Rex O’Rourke is trying to close a deal, but he needs a fiancee so he enlists the help of his hairdresser. Tabitha is all kinds of fun (the complete opposite of the grumpy businessman) and she can’t help liking him.

The Billionaire’s Fake Fiancée by Annika Martin had me chuckling out loud to myself as I fell head over heels in love with Rex and Tabitha! The premise already had me hook, line, and sinker, and then their delightful attitudes and personalities made an appearance and I was a goner, ready to go wherever Annika wanted to take me.
Let me tell you, this was a hilarious yet poignant and emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey and I thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of it!
Rex? He’s a tyrant and he’s grumpy and I love it all, especially as we find out more about why he is how he is, and those layers? ABSOLUTELY worth it! He’s surly and he’s absurdly attractive and delicious and gah! I promise he’s worth it.
Tabitha? I ADORE her! Snarky yet sweet, feisty and fiery yet the kindest person ever. I definitely want to be her friend! And can I just say I fully appreciate her love of soap operas and how she applies it to every day life? ABSOLUTELY amazing and hilarious and sweet, especially as you get to know her better. (And I adore Jada!)
The two of them together? Combustion and chemistry and intensity and hilarity ensues and makes you love the story even more!
This story will have you laughing at their antics, sighing over their miscommunications that’ll have you frustrated, and swooning over their beautiful connection. So, dive on in!
I adore this series. These books are so rich with character and relationship development. And oh yeah, they are absurdly funny. The hallmark of this series is the extreme silliness of the comedy contrasted with the profoundly deep connections developed over the course of the stories. Rarely will you find books so funny and so telling at the same time.
Tabitha, Tabitha, Tabitha… This character has got to be one of the best this author has ever written. So funky and cute yet sincere and multifaceted, and her speech is perfectly millennial or Gen Z (I’m not quite sure which). She’s really more of a CARICATURE than a character—an exaggerated version of someone who hides her hurt with humor. And the more scared she is the sillier she gets. Joking around is her coping mechanism. She quotes Scooby Doo and Bugs Bunny; she likes Hello Kitty, sparkles and soap operas. She’s the perfect contrast to Rex’s character and just what he needs to pull him out of his darkness. If she were subtle he wouldn’t notice her, and you can see how he secretly gets a kick out of her.
Rex is intolerant, repressed and work-obsessed, and his background explains him very well. Tabitha gets him completely. I love how Tabitha can both blatantly aggravate him and mysteriously beguile him at the same time. He’s totally charmed by her despite his initial resistance, but once he gives in to it he won’t back down. It takes him a while to learn how to balance his life and a relationship but eventually he figures it out.
Honorable mention to Jada and all the other girlfriends from the previous books. Tabitha has really fun, loyal, loving and supportive friends. I can totally see why she considers them family and doesn’t want to leave them.
As I’ve said before IMO Book 1 in this series was the sweetest, Book 2 was the funniest and Book 3 was the most touching. I would call this book the craziest… in a good way. It was an over the top fun ride, but at the same time, something every romance reader is looking for—heartfelt connections.
This is a fantastic story—more incredible comedy and banter, more sexual tension, more painful, more redemption, a mystery, and a delightful tie in to all of our favorite soap operas. The characters are intricate and well defined. It’s everything that I’ve especially come to enjoy about this series. One more book and then it’s all over. *Sob* But I wouldn’t mind if this series went on forever. I’ve already read some of them more than once and without a doubt will do it again.
3.5 stars
This was a cute fun read. It was light and moved fast. I love that she was the quirky hairdresser and he was the billionaire who didn’t know that he was falling in love with her.
I also loved the intrigue in the story. The soap opera references were awesome! I loved watching Days of Our Lives growing up. I enjoyed reading how he started loosening up and actually listening to her theories.
A light hearted enjoyable read. I can’t wait for the next one in her series.
YES YES YES!!! Loved this book!!!! Couldn’t get any better than a sexy broody alpha male and a hilarious and witty girl who brings him out of his shell!! Oh man, LOVED THIS!!!!!
Loved this book! Pair a grumpy, growly billionaire and a perky, soap opera-loving hairdresser on a mega-yacht in the Caribbean and you get steamy delicious fun!
Okay, we need to talk …
LADIES & GENTS, I read so many genres … from literary fiction, to thrillers, to historical fiction, non -fiction, personal development, to romance. Romance is a fave. Shall I tell you why? Because it is BETTER than a glass of wine (or more) every night or therapy or prescribed helpers. To be honest, a glass of wine AND a book like this, and maybe a hot bath (with bubbles and no kids nagging) is the gold standard of self-help. ESPECIALLY IN THESE CRAZY TIMES … READ THIS amazingly fun and romantic and steamy read. I LOVED IT. I laughed out loud and swooned. It was perfect entertainment!
