I’ve read several of Vivi Holt’s books, but I think this may be her best yet. Somehow, she hooked me in the first chapter. I was so engaged with the characters, that I totally bought into the improbable plot. Why? Because the characters were deep and fleshed out, and the emotions were almost palpable. I teared up a few times, but I loved the ending.
I couldn’t stop reading this! The story was engrossing and romantic and so fun. I loved every page!
I really liked this story! I loved how she was there to do a signing telegram bit was mistaken as his emailed ordered bride. How she went along with it and how it came to light. There were heavy subjects in this book such as adoption, death of parents, death of a spouse, and reconnecting with birth mother, but all were tactfully handled. This sweet, clean romance was fun to read!
Audio Review: The Billionaire’s Email-Order Date (Email-Order Romance, #1) by Vivi Holt (Author), Amanda Stribling (Narrator)
Holt is my favorite author. She can open a heart, bleed it dry and then give it new life with only minutes to spare. The Billionaire’s Email Order Date is a tale of heartbreak, risk and love in all it’s glory. Chris and Kate are full of raw emotion, unfiltered hope and lessons that need to be learned. Holt and Stribling are like a balm for the soul. There will be tears, but they give way to smiles that make the sorrow worthwhile.
For me, this book did sparkle a bit. I loved the innocence and sweetness of this book. It made me want Christmas to be here already and for me to be held up in a cabin in Montana. It sparkled for me much like a sweet Hallmark movie sparkles for me. Sometimes they are unrealistically perfect, but I think that is why we Christmas lovers enjoy watching them. Sometimes you need to read a book that is going to make you feel a simple happiness that can only come from a perfectly set story. This book has quite a bit of emotion in it due to the grief the main characters are trying to work through. It was a good story which brought together two people from completely different backgrounds, yet they ended up being more connected than they could have ever known. It was happy coincidence that brings them together and understanding that helps them work through their grief. I would have given more spotlight to the character of Chris’ best friend, Steve. He was a guiding character for Chris, but he only received some spotlight at the beginning and a few references throughout. I think Steve should have been at the end of the book to help guide Chris after he comes back from Montana, rather than his brother Todd. I am not sure that there was anything major missing from the book. Boy meets girl, they work through life struggles, and find happiness on the other end of grief. The book could have added more festive activities for the family to bring even more Christmas spirit to the book. The author could have also added more meat to the characters returning to Atlanta and talking with their friends about their Christmas vacation. This is a short book at only 212 pages, which of course makes it a short, sweet, and to the point book. I enjoyed the book, but I could have enjoyed it just as well, if not more, if it had added more pages to bring more subplots into the mix. I really loved the cover of this book. It made me feel like I was about to read a Hallmark movie. The cover is sweet and innocent like the contents of the book. I really enjoy the simplicity of the book cover. This book is sweet as pie. I loved it. If you are a reader who wants to read a sweet romance novel and find two people falling in love this book is for you! There are no inappropriate situations and you will find yourself feeling warm and fuzzy inside reading this book. It was a great read overall and left me feeling like it truly is Christmas in July.

Chris, a billionaire businessman, needs a date for Christmas with his family. He wants to get his mother to stop setting him up on dates. His wife died and he blames himself. He basically checked out with her death, and stopped wanting anything to do with women or romance. Kate, on the other hand, is an orphan who was adopted, but when her new parents died she was all alone once again and struggling to try to make a living as an artist. So when she is mistaken for Chris’s date and he is going to where her real mom lives, she continues to pretend to be his date. This is a sweet romance and a nice Christmas story.
Montana Christmas
Fake date setups can be tricky and this one is handled wonderfully. Amanda Stribling does a great job narrating this fun Christmas HEA. Characters are believable and so is the plot!

If you need an uplifting story to lighten your heart, this is the perfect book to do just that.
Chris Everett is a self-made billionaire and seemingly has it all. Kate Grant is a struggling artist who has recently lost her adoptive parents in an accident. When they meet, a misunderstanding brings them together for the Christmas holidays at his parents’ ranch in Montana.
Chris is still reeling from the death of his wife, Mia, three years ago and has come to dread the holidays. He isn’t interested in ever loving anyone again, but will Kate be able to change his mind? Kate has been searching for her birth mother and just wants to feel like she fits into a family.
Ms. Holt always writes a great story with wonderful characters and heartwarming descriptions. This book is no exception. The narrator, Ms. Amanda Stribling, does a great job and adds a lot to the listener’s enjoyment of the book.
If you are looking for a happily-ever-after with Christmas in the background, this is the perfect book for you. Nothing unexpected, but enjoyable all the same. Of course, there are the usual misunderstandings between our couple, but knowing that all will work out in the end is what makes this type of romance so wonderful.
I was given the chance to listen to the Audible version of this book by the author and chose to review it.
To prevent his mum coming up for more blind dates Chris send for an email-order date. When Kate shows up he thinks she is his date, but she isn’t. Kate has her own reasons to play along. Can they convince his family they really are a couple? And what about Kate’s reasons? Will dishonesty and hurt keep them from building a lasting relationship?
This is an amazing book that you need to read when you love a good love/family story. These characters need each other to be happy but it will take them some time to realize that.
Warning: have tissues nearby while reading this story.
A wonderfully different, enjoyable story!
This story can catch you in a whirlwind, as you follow the two main characters, and imagine what could happen. Vivi Holt writes in a fun way, and wows you throughout the book. You will not want to put it down, until the end. I highly recommend reading this one!
The Billionaire’s Email-Order Date: A Christmas Romance
By: Vivi Holt
I really love this Christmas romance with Chris and Kate. I was grabbed at the start and did not want to put it down. I fell in love with these two and was rooting for them. I caught myself laughing out several times. A billionaire needs a date to carry home for Christmas, and a struggling artist who sings Christmas grams happen to be in the right place. A wonderful story about overcoming grief and loss. This is a sweet romance that touched my heart. Can there be a second chance for these two?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Imagine Kate’s surprise when she goes to deliver a Christmas gram dressed as an elf but gets whisked away as a fake girlfriend for the Christmas holiday. Chris a billionaire still bearing guilt over his wife’s death three years ago hires a date to take to his parents so they won’t try to set him up on dates. He mistakes Kate as the date and tells her she is going to his parents with him and he is laying her. What ensues is a story of family, finding family and falling in love, if Chris opens his heart to Kate.
This book was so good! I enjoyed all the characters very much but found my self drawn to Kate. This story made me laugh and cry, I was so drawn into the plot. Chris had a story but so did Kate. Chris has to forgive himself while Kate has to forgive another person. The love of family and romance makes this special Christmas book. A absolutely must read for the holidays!
The Billionaire’s Email-Order Date is a heartwarming romance. Chris blames himself for his wife’s death three years ago. Kate is all alone and not looking forward to the holidays. Kate stops at Chris’ to deliver a singing elf telegram. He mistakes her for his email date and whisks Kate off to Montana for Christmas with his family. Kate needs the $10,000 and she has another reason for being in Montana. Kate falls in love with Chris’ entire family. Will this whole charade derail? What will happen when Chris discovers Kate’s secret? I thoroughly enjoyed this book which I read in one sitting.
