Princes of Texas Book Three.
Nick Prince has wanted to be a pilot since he was eight, but his dreams were ruined when his father left the running of the family ranch to Nick in his will. Now, Nick is stuck on the ranch for the foreseeable future. Charlotte Bailey has been running the ranch with Charlie for years and knows everything about the day-to-day business. As the office manager, she is the real power behind the ranch. Now that Nick is in charge, the two have to work together every day. This is a problem, seeing as they have a rather complicated past. Neither can get over the one night they spent together, but do they really want to?
If you’ve been waiting to see sparks fly between “Born with a Broken Heart” Nick and “All Business” Charlotte, this is the book for you!
I think every new book in Julia London’s Princes of Texas is my favorite, and BILLIONAIRE IN BOOTS has taken that place in my heart. I love Nick and Charlotte, both as individuals and as a couple. Nick is the eldest of the Prince children and has always felt like he’s a square peg trying to fit into a round hole when it comes to his family. After all, how many cattle ranchers are vegetarians? Plus, all he’s ever wanted to do is fly. When his father died leaving the family business in a mess, Nick is the one that everyone expects to fix things, so he puts aside his dreams and becomes a grumpy rancher. Charlotte knows the Prince business inside and out, and it’s her job to help Nick…and forget their one night together before his father died. All she wants is a family of her own, and time is running out to find it. Watching Nick and Charlotte’s relationship is so much fun, especially as they evolve from employee and boss, to friends, to something more. Nick feels the most at ease with Charlotte, but knows they are on different paths. Can they find their way to each other and their dreams?
Not only are Nick and Charlotte characters to love, we return to the Prince family that is full of characters that will keep you giggling at their antics. Added to that, we have Charlotte’s family that adds another level of fun, not to mention an expanding cast of animal characters. There is so much more I want to say, but you should discover it yourself.
This is book three in the series, but it can be read as a stand-alone, though I recommend all three. There is one more Prince, so I can’t wait to see what London does with Tanner.
Thank you to NetGalley for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I had a great time reading this book! From the first page you know that the banter between Nick and Charlotte would make this a fun read. After Nick’s father’s death Nick’s dreams of becoming a commercial pilot fly out the window, he had a ranch to run, debts to make right and a family that needed him. Charlotte grew up with Nick, she worked for his father after graduating college, since she began working under Nick their chemistry has been thick, especially after a hot Christmas night together. But Nick and Charlotte are at two different points in their life, he wants to be out seeing the world and she want to settle down and start a family, can they get on the same plane? This book is full of great witty banter, quirky characters-family at that-, a vegetarian cattle rancher , bad app dates and sexual tension, what a great read!
What can I say about the final book in the trilogy? Lots but I will try to be brief. LOL! I’ve read all the books and this one has to be my favorite. It was close because I love Hallie to death. Plus, their mother and grandmother are such a hoot.
What endeared me to this book so much was Nick and Charlotte. Both are very likeable characters and people that I cared about throughout the book. Nick is a grump, but he has every right to be a grump. Being a rancher was never his life plan and the resentment that he still held on from his father and in some ways his mother, are relatable. I especially loved the scene with his mother regarding him being her son. It was heartfelt and poignant. At that moment, I finally connected with her and generally felt a tug on the heart. There might have been a tear or two.
Charlotte is hilarious but she in her own right is royalty in town. Just not with the money. The emails back and forth between them are downright hilarious but also you get a feel for their chemistry and the true friendship developing between them. The both need each other but are too afraid to admit it to themselves, much less each other. Also, Charlotte doesn’t put up with Nick and his grumpiness. She gives him space when needed but can also feel the coldness when he’s gone.
Their chemistry is off the charts, but Ms. London takes her time with them. Nothing is rushed, and the fluidity of the story takes charge. I can only imagine Ms. London writing this book and both characters shouting at her at times. They had a lot to say and she let them say it. Plus, Hallie had a bunch to say, too in the book. She really loved her brother and it shows here. Nothing was going to shut her up except for the bathtub at Nick’s.
I’m sad to see the series end. This is one of my all-time favorites from any author. Ms. London knows how to write a funny, heartfelt, poignant and relatable story with likeable characters.
I miss Charlotte’s dog. He is a scene stealer for sure.
This is book 3 in the Princes of Texas series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this or you probably won’t understand what is going on in it as those books lead up to this one. In this one we get Nick and Charlotte’s story. Nick is the oldest and has always been geared up to take over the family business. Even though it has never been his dream, but now he is left to clean up the mess that is left behind after his father passes away. Charlotte can’t believe that Nick is back to run the ranch. And as the office manager, she now has to help him to do so. But such close proximity between the two of them has them both feeling things that they don’t believe that they should be.But can plans and dreams change or is it the road to heartache?
I really liked this one! Charlotte is this down to earth woman who isn’t afraid to call things as she see’s them. And her little bit of snark at times just completely cracked me up! Nick comes across as this man who has the weight of the world on his shoulders. And in some ways, he does. But he is also has his own insecurities to deal with and what he thinks of as the loss of his dreams. But when he figures out what he truly wants-I loved him then! He stepped up and fought for the people he loves along with his own wants and dreams. This book definitely kept me reading!
Nick and Charlotte’s story is an emotional and moving tale in The Billionaire in Boots by Julia London, book three in The Princes of Texas series. Nick is the eldest Prince children whose wings were clipped with the death of their father. Unlike the twins who had the freedom to do what they wanted, Nick was forced to take over the management and operation of the ranch and clean up all the messes his father left behind. All Nick ever wanted to do was become a pilot and travel. As office manager Charlotte knows it’s her responsibility to help Nick but he’s been grumpy, sad, and brooding and she just wants to make him feel good. Nick knows that Charlotte is off-limits and Charlotte knows that Nick is not long-term material as he’s trying to leave but when these two work together the office steams up from the heat and electricity between them. I love the way Charlotte uses humor to make the situation easier between them. Her humor is hysterical and she definitely makes Nick laugh, even if she’s making him crazy. Nick is torn between wanting to stay to be with Charlotte and going to flight school. Knowing this responsible man, he will figure out a way to make it work; especially since these two belong together.
Ms. London wrote a wonderful, emotional, humorous story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, lots of laughs, and charming characters giving Nick and Charlotte that chance at love, family and a future together. I highly recommend The Billionaire in Boots to other readers and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Nick has had a rough couple of years. His father’s death has messed up lots of things for his family, but Nick seems to have gotten the brunt of it. He is angry about that but trying to cover it up and do the right thing. There are only a couple of bright spots in his life: his animals and Charlotte. It’s too bad Charlotte can’t stand him. I have felt really bad for Nick over the last two books, and I am glad he is getting his happy ending. He deserves it.
Charlotte is a pistol. She has run the ranch office for years and can do it blindfolded. She is smart, cheerful, and focused on her dream of having a family someday. I really loved her spirit and sense of humor. I am ready to ride to Three Rivers and be her best friend right now!
These two are obviously meant to be together. They have so much chemistry, but they can’t quite make reality match. I got choked up while they struggled. But I also laughed a lot because Charlotte keeps the banter rolling. I just love her! A great book!
Nick and Charlotte….my new favorite couple. Charlotte, the outgoing, sarcastic heroine. Nick, the brooding, kind hearted hero. I loved them together. Their banter had me laughing out loud, their emotions had me crying. A wonderful story of friends to lovers and following your dreams, even if you have to update them a little here and there. Great book!
If you’ve read the books prior to this one then you might like me been waiting for Nick and Charlotte’s story. We’ve gotten a glimpse of them in the prior books and you have to wonder how they’d be together.
Well, your wait is over. I have to say that Charlotte cracked me up for most of this book. I just loved her. When they email each other you can’t help but chuckle a little. So funny. It really started the story so nicely.
This was not an easy relationship. First off they both wanted different things in life. Poor Nick felt like he had been locked into a business he didn’t want to run. Not for a minute. I think that made him angry and also lonely. He had all the weight of the family on his shoulders. It’s very sad to me. Since I really enjoyed the family I hated that he wasn’t happy.
I think because of his unhappiness he was at times a hard character to like. But if you looked down deep below the business stuff he is a wonderful man who cares about those around him. He just wants to do him.
Now on to Charlotte. Poor Charlotte everyone is moving on and having families and she wants that so badly. Too bad she falls for the one man who doesn’t. She deserves a life and someone who will love her wholely.
Even when these two aren’t together they are cute together. When Nick draws her into his life as a pilot and what he’s doing is so cute. It shows just how perfect these two are together.
As a whole, this is a good story that you will enjoy. The interaction between the half brother and Charlotte didn’t make me like him though. He’s not that nice. I’m so glad that I took the time to review The Billionaire in Boots. Do yourself a favor and read the books in order. You will enjoy all the characters better that way especially the mother and grandmother.
As the firstborn son, it’s been drilled into Nick that he is the heir apparent to the Prince family empire. But cattle ranching has never been his true passion. Nick wants to be a pilot. However, when his father dies, leaving Nick to clean up the mess, he knows he must do his duty before following his heart.
Nick’s grandmother always said Nick was born with a broken heart.
When Nick realized his dream of becoming a pilot was suddenly taken away from him. He started believing with was true.
Nick hated everything about ranching and huge responsibility of caring for the business.
After his father’s death realized how much debt was left behind. Nick knew, he had to make hard decisions to save the family business.
Charlotte has been running Prince business for five years. She knew there was some problems.
However, her and Nick had a troubling relationship and want sure they could work together to solve the problems.
Nick knew he was going to have work with investors and take a loan out to save the company. Not sure how he explain the money troubles to his family who never had to budget in their live.
Nick and Charlotte started working together to save business. Along the way they found love and duration to save Prince business.
Finding love Nick realized maybe a broken heart can be mended.
Nick and Charlotte have history. They work together, they are trying hard to stay away from each other since that one night. This is the setting for a story that is warm and sweet, hot and spicy and above all absolutely hilarious.
I loved the chemistry between them.
4.5 Stars!
This is the third book in The Princes of Texas Series and I’ve enjoyed each and every one. The author has written some really great characters, as well as compelling story lines.
It’s not often that I love both the hero AND heroine in a book, let alone each book in the series. As with the previous, I loved this book and Nick Prince’s story. He was always a brooding and quiet presence in the previous books and it was enlightening to learn that he was actually shy, lonely, and a bit broken. Charlotte was another spunky and fun heroine who fell in love with Nick despite his grumpiness, as she calls it.
This was a well-developed story all around, but also a great continuation of the Prince’s saga. I’ve been very pleased with the plotting of the series and each sibling’s romance. I had originally thought that this would be the final book, but was thrilled to learn that there will be at least one more to come.
Our public library is now open for picking up books that have been on hold, since COVID 19 I, so I got my hands on this book and read it on a hot summer afternoon. I have not read the previous books in the series, and there are so many characters, that I needed name tags (post-it flags where the characters was introduced). Aside from that it was a very enjoyable read and I have already ordered the previous books.
Nick is the oldest of the Prince sibling, heir to Three Rivers Ranch, something he never wanted. From a young age he knew two things, he hated ranching, specifically inflicting pain on any animal and he wanted to fly. He had earned his pilot’s license and was ready to attend flight school to earn his commercial pilot certificate, when all his hopes and dreams came crashing down on him after the sudden death of his father and the reading of the will. While his siblings were left property that helped them with their dreams, he was saddled with the ranch, a ranch that was land rich but cash poor and in debt, due to his father’s gambling. And a illegitimate half brother, no one knew about, who was also left a large chunk of property. He feels stuck and grumpy and lives in a house in a quiet part of the ranch with some rescued animals.
Cassie Bailey has also lived her whole life in Three Rivers. Straight out of college she was hired by Charlie Prince as office manager. She has one dream, to find a man who will put her first and lots of babies, but her biological clock is ticking. Several years ago she and Nick had had one drunken but unforgettable night together, but Nick had pulled away because he hadn’t planned to be staying. Now they have to work together, as awkward coworkers. The book is their journey from friends to lovers with lots of bumps in the road until their HEA. Appealing but quirky characters (who ever heard of a rancher who doesn’t eat meat?), fun banter, vivid descriptions of the land all combine to make a very entertaining read.
Love this series and need more about this family. I will read anything London writes because it’s always captures me 100%. Can’t wait to read the next tale.
No one writes snappy, witty dialogue like Julia London does. Complete and utter charm in this contemporary romance. Pick it up, y’all.
His father’s death has trapped Nick into running Saddlebush Land and Cattle Company. He’s angry that he is expected to give up his dream of flying. He wants to travel and to escape his family’s expectations. His Family is over the top. They think Nick is a grump and they tell him he’s a loner. They don’t appreciate his strength. I was impressed that he adopts abandoned and abused animals. He cares for them. I liked his flirty interaction with Charlotte Bailey. Their emails made me laugh. It hide the powerful attraction between these two. I hoped they would develop a lasting relationship. However, I was worried that they wanted different lifestyles. Charlotte wants a husband and babies, but Nick wants to fly and see the world. He doesn’t want any relationship responsibilities. I was upset when Nick broke up with Lottie. I hated how heartbroken she was. I wasn’t sure that Nick would ever come to his senses. Julia London kept me entertained. Don’t get me started on the baseball rivalry. I couldn’t put down Billionaire in Boots. I’m enjoying the Princes of Texas novels. It will be hard to wait for the next book which comes out in 2021.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
An enjoyable story of two people who discover there is a little more than to the eye between them. Thank you to the author and publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my early review.
ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review
Though this is the 3rd in the Princes of Texas series, it could be read as a standalone (I forgot all I read in book 2 and still enjoyed it)
Charlotte and Nick have been dancing around each other for a long while, and just when you think that it is going to be more of the same, moves are finally mad.
I like the Charlotte is not afraid to tell him like it is. She knows what she wants, and she is going to get it, come hell or high water.
Their initial email conversations had me smiling and laughing at times. Full of snark, you can practically feel them both rolling their eyes.
This book was full of sweet, full of sexy and oh my goodness I was so frustrated at times with our cowboy. I knew he would finally come to his senses but sheeeesh it took him a while!
I loved seeing more of Hallie and Rafe from book 2, and I really do need to go back and read book 1
Something started to happen that I was hoping for all through this read, but now I have to wait a while to see where it goes. I don’t want to wait lol
I am new to Julia London stories, however I have liked what I have read so far, and look forward to reading more in the future.
Julia London’s characters are lovable and addictive. This book has humor and a
heart wrenching plot but with a happy ending.
The author is really good, but this book is son boring! I could not finished it….Sorry Julia!! You are awesome but what happened here??? The girl is so full of herself and gets unbearable the guy is nice but too much brooding all the time. It could have been funny but it’s not…..25% of the book and I gave up. The two starts are because Julia is great
