Kelly Bradley isn’t impulsive. Unless you count that time she walked into billionaire power player Jack Sutton’s office and proposed on a sticky note. He said yes, by the way. With that one word, he saved her from crippling student loan debt and his company from a takeover that would mean its end. What could go wrong?A lot, as it turns out. This is a standalone fake relationship … standalone fake relationship marriage-of-convenience with a twist of suspense in the Sutton Billionaires Series. A shorter version of this book was previously published in the Sutton Capital Series under the name Legal Ease.

The Billionaire Deal (The Sutton Billionaires Book 1) by Lori Ryan is a great story that I have read. This is book number one a great start to a new series and I recommend it to all.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
An awesome story. I love strangers to lovers trope boos. All characters are wonderfully created. The plot ran smoothly, and surprised me near the end. Good job. Look forward to reading more of the Sutton books.
The Billionaire Deal was the perfect way to spend a Saturday. Lori Ryan got just the right mix of romance, suspense, and likeable characters. In could not put the book down. This is the first book in the Sutton Capital series, and I can’t wait to read the rest!
This was a must read for Lori Ryan. Please note this was originally released as Legal Ease so if you read that one you have read this one.
One of my favorites! Read it twice!
I really enjoyed this book. Enjoyed the writing, the characters and the plot. I enjoyed it so much I bought the next book at full price, and then the next book at full price. Needless to say, I enjoyed all three.
Well written story about a billionaire who must marry to save his company, Sutton Capital, and a young woman who is trying to pay her tuition for Yale Law School.
Jack Sutton’s parents were very much in love and they wanted the same thing for their son, so when he had shown no interest in finding a woman to love, his mother changed her will before she died, so if he was not married by his 35 birthday, the proxy rights to her shares held in trust would go to her sister in law. While Aunt Mabry had once been a loving member of the family, after her husband deserted her and her son, she became very bitter and took it out on Jack’s parents and after their death him. Kelly Bradley’s best friend, Jennie, is a temp secretary for Jack, and out of boredom, after discovering a broken light on the phone system, listens in on Jack’s conversations and discover his situation. Hearing the story from Jennie, Kelly, totally out of character, walks into Jack’s office and declares herself to be his fiancee. What could go wrong? Lots. Engaging characters and I look forward to reading the next books in the series.
I read an ARC, but I don’t remember the source. This is my voluntary and unbiased review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story until the couple had sex. Then it became just another erotic book with descriptive intercourse every few pages. Too bad. Won’t be reading any more books by this author.
This is one page-turning book I just couldn’t put down. It had a few twists that made it different from other ‘marriage of convenience’ books I’ve read. In my opinion, if you’re looking for romance in an easy to read page-turning style, this is a great book to read.
great read
4 stars
I have received a free copy of the New Haven, Connecticut set novel The Billionaire Deal: The Sutton Billionaires Series, Book 1: Jack and Kelly by Lori Ryan and this review is given freely.
Not the usual fake marriage romance novel. Family drama containing a jealous and spiteful Aunt, a strong attraction with some humor and some steamy scenes plus a suspenseful twist.
Holding out for a soulmate, Jack Sutton finds himself one week before his thirty fifth birthday still single and scrambling to fulfill a clause in his mother’s will to get married to retain control of Sutton Capital. Last minute help coming in the form of his spying temp secretary Jennie’s law student best friend Kelly leads to love only to have tragedy strike.
I absolutely loved this book I couldn’t stop reading. From the moment Kelly walked into Jack’s office I couldn’t stop reading wanting to know how the relationship builds. The build of the relationship dynamic was beautifully done.
4.5* !!!
I loved this first book from Lori Ryan. I’ve read her work before but never felt the same eagerness as I turn the pages. Her debut was a standout effort in my opinion. The characters are wonderful and the heroine is feisty and so much fun! The hero has more depth than usually found in a modern marriage of convenience story. There’s a lot of saucy humor and a bit of scary suspense. Ms. Ryan did a tremendous job and I would love to know which books of hers are in a similar vein.
4 stars . Good not great
Great book
This now is my second book by this author, the first was book 5. These are stand alone stories, but as with most series, have cross over character’s. As it’s been mentioned there is a shorter version of this one called Legal Ease.
This was very suspenseful with great main and secondary character’s. I loved the spunk of the h and how she came up with an idea to help herself and the H. This story has many twists, believable situations and touches on a subject that is still happening all over the world – human trafficking.
What I especially found with this writer, is romance builds at an appropriate pace. There is passionate lovemaking, within marriage heat level 4 out of 5. The ‘F’ word is used several times.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and a tad of spice. (ljb)
Fantastic read!!
Slow toward end
Cute story about family drama and finding the right women
