I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Let’s face it, this is a dark romance… and bad things happen to them, just like they do in real life. And we can’t just go back and take things out of our lives because we don’t like them. We have to deal with our choices and their consequences. Unfortunately, the author of this book got so many negative responses to a passage in this book that she went back rewrote part of it. Now, I haven’t had the chance to read the version without chapter 6 in it, since I just finished reading the ARC version about twenty minutes ago but I’m not sure how I’m going to like it without that passage.
I can see why people had trouble with chapter 6. But, without it, you don’t really see how bad Zander has gotten. Even though Maya didn’t have the chance to agree to what happened ahead of time, he was in control of it from the beginning and you have to believe two things: one, that he really would never hurt her and two, he knew she needed to do this for her own reasons and he just let it happen in a safe environment. Ultimately, he knew it was what she wanted and he gave it to her. I’m not saying anyone else would want to be in that situation but let’s face it… it fits the storyline.
I enjoyed this book as an ARC. It challenged me to see things in a way I hadn’t thought of before and I hope I learned some insight into people and their motives. Will I read the adapted version? Yes, because I am a curious reader who wants to see what happens without that scene.
A dark romance that will make you think and feel.
Okay… I read the adapted version and here are my thoughts.
I can see why people had trouble with the scene in chapter 7. To be totally honest, I wasn’t totally comfortable with that scene but that didn’t mean that it needed to be removed. It explained the relationship between Zander and Renee. And how it affected Zander and Maya’s relationship. I’ve said it before… books are meant to make you think and reflect on situations that might be new and/or uncomfortable.
This book is about Zander, a man who grew up with an emotionally distant father, and because of his upbringing, Zander’s heart is an arid desert. He is a playboy of the worst kind. Maya, on the other hand, is a young, idealistic virgin. When the 2 of them meet, the chemistry is explosive. But neither understands the other, nor what they want from the other.
As writing goes, this story was well-written. The problem is that I didn’t LIKE the characters. It seems that all they did was try to “one up” the other one. Even as they confessed their love, I really didn’t care. I felt very disconnected with the book. One reason is because I wasn’t appreciative of the sexual encounters (threesomes). The story was off-the-charts steamy and the sex scenes imaginative. But for me, the saving grace was the characters chose monogamy at the end. I have read other books by this author and really enjoyed them, steamy scenes and all. This one just wasn’t my cup of tea. Still, 3 1/2 stars.
Arc review For honest review. zander troy is a man that takes what he wants. Maya is a 21-year-old Virgin that is hard to get .this woman , He has to fight for to get her .saying what is hard to get is worth keeping very cute love story
A good Bad Boy Billionaire read
Maya has a crush on Zander and one chance meeting tarnishes her image of him. As the story progresses they learn more about the people they want to be and what it takes to truly love. With oodles of steam and hot fantasies The Billionaire Bull is a good read for those who like Bad Boy Billionaires.
HOT AND STEAMY!!!
One steamy read with attitude and a twist of something bad. An absolutely amazing, easy to follow read that will captivate you from the beginning. You’ll fall in love with the characters as the tale unfolds. I couldn’t have put it down even if wanted to, its that good. Romi does an incredible job bringing this read to life.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Zander Troy is a billionaire playboy that can have any woman he wants. He doesn’t care who he hurts he does and says whatever he wants. That is until Maya. Maya is a 22 year old good girl she’s still a virgin that grew up in a catholic family. All she’s ever wanted is to have a boyfriend on Valentine’s Day and to lose her virginity to a good guy. She’s secretly had a crush on Zander believing he’s a good guy just like his business commercials. Their relationship starts out wrong and their whole relationship is pretty messed up. But through all that they realize that there is such a thing as true love. This is a different kind of read I wasn’t sure if I liked it at first but I couldn’t put it down I just had to keep reading and I’m glad I did.
