This book was okay. Neither of the lead characters were all that likable. The obligatory drama that occurred three quarters of the way through the book seemed overly manufactured. I deleted the book from my Kindle immediately after reading.
This is another hilarious hit for this author duo! These authors can tell a story that will have you hooked and laughing throughout. I always know that I am in for a treat anytime I pick up one of their books and this book is no exception.
The Billionaire Boss Next Door gives us the story of two workaholics with both having something to prove. Neither have time for a relationship but find something in the place they least expect to.
I really loved both Trent and Greer; their personalities separately made me fall for them but when you put them together; their over the top antics, quick wit and sarcasm; will have you anxiously waiting to see what happens next.
This book is a complete standalone and so I suggest you jump right in. You will NOT be disappointed!!
Max Monroe are back with a whole new billionaire series and I couldn’t be more excited! This is what they do best!
This is an enemies to lovers romance and is jam packed full of all the witty banter, one liners and great characters all weaved in amongst an awesome story that had me laughing out loud. This book was just what I needed right now. More please!
The Billionaire Boss Next Door is another great book by Max Monroe. If you’re a fan of the Billionaire Bad Boys series, then you’ll probably love this book, too (Thatch does make a brief appearance in this book). There were several LOL moments for me while reading this book. This book is an office romance, enemies-to-lovers romance that is mainly told in Greer’s and Trent’s POVs (first person). There are a couple of chapters that are written in Cap’s (one of Trent’s best friends) and Emory’s (Greer’s best friend) POVs which help set up the whole next door situation that Greer and Trent find themselves in. I loved all of the characters and loved the banter between all of them. Two of my favorite parts of the book involved a reenactment of an iconic scene from the movie Say Anything (I loved that movie and that song!). This book is a relatively quick read with minimal angst and plenty of funny moments. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a romantic comedy. One note, I’d like to make (that the author’s also note at the beginning of the book) is that the book does end around 90% and they include a sample of the first book of the Billionaire Bad Boys series, Tapping the Billionaire, for any of those readers who may not have read those books.
I’ve heard great things about Max Monroe so I jumped at the chance to read their latest book and was not disappointed! I loved the character of Greer – from the independence to the sarcasm she was an all around great personality, and I loved the quirky things she did to Trent (namely the burner phone)! Regarding Trent, I really liked how they were able to show personal growth for him, where he first started very abrasive and critical but as he recognized and developed his feelings for Greer he felt more confident and comfortable in himself. This was a totally entertaining book, and I really enjoyed reading. While this was my first book, it definitely won’t be my last especially because I am interested in Cap falling for someone!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Omg, so I haven’t read any Max Monroe books since their Billionaire Bad Boys series and I forgot how much fun they are! With a swoony hero, a sassy heroine, ALL the laughs, and great banter between friends, I enjoyed the heck out of this one and am excited for the rest of the series.
Entertaining & hilarious!
I loved this book! It is an enemies to lovers trope. The plot is unique and entertaining. There was a wonderful cast of characters. There were many LOL moments and the witty banter between Trent and Greer had me cracking up! They don’t start out on the right foot when they meet but eventually, they can’t deny the heat between them. Are they willing to cave in and risk more than just their pride? Other things are on the line here and neither have been lucky in love. I loved Greer!!! She is quirky, smartass, and her witty sarcasm kept me in stitches. Trent is a sexy, swoon-worthy alphahole who is no wimp in the sarcasm department. They both give as well as they get.
What a great read! It was refreshing and I hated for it to end. I can’t wait to see what is in store next from Max Monroe! If you like hilarious moments filled with some sexy times, this is your book! I highly recommend reading it!!!

I’m just going to state this here. If Max Monroe write a rom-com book, I’m reading it. No questions asked. No dilemmas. No trepidation. I’m one-clicking it and gobbling it up.
Why, you might ask?
They are queens of the rom-com (romantic comedy for those of you who aren’t “in” with the romance lingo). The reasons are indefatigable as to this crown. Using their most current release as the evidence of their queendom, I’ll elaborate on why you should be reading their books, especially The Billionaire Boss Next Door:
**These ladies know how to write dialogue. As I was reading their newest book, I found myself thinking over and over again…how do they do this? How do they write such witty, laugh-out-loud dialogue? Whether you are reading their Billionaire Bad Boys series, The Mavericks’ series, the Jerk Duet, or this newest offering, you are guaranteed side-splitting dialogue. In this book, most of those words come from the mouth of the heroine, Greer (she has the best name, by the way). Over and over again in this book, you will read the genius of Max Monroe’s words and wonder, like I do, how do they do it. Here are just a few samples of their brilliance:
Greer: “If this space is a womb, I’m smack-dab in the center of Satan’s uterus.”
OR
Greer: “My milk shake brings all the boys to the tyranny. Go figure.”
I could provide you with so many other examples, but (1) Amazon might not accept this review due to their strict censorship guidelines and (2) I want you to read the book and find your own favorite lines. Again, this is a strong reason why you should be reading Max Monroe, specifically The Billionaire Boss Next Door. You may, however, need to wear a Depends diaper as you pee your pants at their humor.
**Secondly, everyone knows that the characters are EVERYTHING in a Max Monroe book, and TBBND is no exception. It isn’t just Greer and Trent, the h and H of this book. It is also the ancillary characters who charm you. As they have done previously, the predominant voices are Trent and Greer. However their friends also receive chapters in this book, allowing us other seats in observation of the main characters. Even more, Cap and Emory are laugh out loud hilarious (Cap is on par with Thatch from the Billionaire Bad Boys series). Even more reason to read it for the way it allows you to escape life for a little bit.
This is an enemies-to-lovers tale. From the outset, Trent and Greer are attracted to each other, but their initial perceptions of each other are mistaken. As such they don’t particularly like each other at first. However, everyone else, including their friends Cap, Emory, and Quince, see the potential. Thankfully, Trent and Greer’s attraction and subsequent working relationship allow them to see more of each other’s characters beyond the initial judgment, and the story changes. What we come to know about these characters is that Trent’s gruffness comes from living in the shadow of his father, and he wants to break away from it, finding his own space in the family business. He wants to be “seen” and accepted by his father. Living in that shadow takes a toll on him, and he struggles to find himself. Greer’s difficulty is worry over failure. Her design business is in trouble, and she needs the job with Trent’s family business. Her worry about failure and her natural pessimistic worldview hold her back from really engaging in life. Trent and Greer are two people who are stuck. They need to move forward, but they need to get out of their way to do so, which they do, once they acknowledge their interest in each other.
When they finally accept their attraction to each other, two things happen. Trent blossoms. He becomes a better version of himself in his ability to accept and love Greer as her self. He becomes less grumpy and learns humility through Greer’s encouragement. And Greer blossoms on the job, helping Trent begin to build his legacy. Like any supportive relationship, these characters bring out the best in each other, and it’s the beauty of this story, this book. It’s the encouragement we need, as the readers, to seek our own happiness. To be honest, Trent and Greer are opposites, and it should be a struggle to read them, yet their chemistry is both fiery and sweet. They make each other better. Usually, I like the H or h more than the other; however, in this book, Trent and Greer are a unit, necessary together for the success of this story.
**And the epilogue. I love a “happily-ever-after” like the rest of the romance kingdom, and Max Monroe do that so well with The Billionaire Boss Next Door. I wrote to them on Facebook after finishing the book that there is a moment in the epilogue when I was filled with so much happiness I thought my chest (read this as heart) would burst. Trent proves himself to be the BEST book boyfriend in his admiration and love for Greer, and I can support that. I simply didn’t want the book to end.
I really did love everything about this book. I had intended to read it slowly as I had other ARCs to read plus my professorial duties. However, the moment I began to read this book, I could not put it down because Trent and Greer’s story is special. It will make you laugh; it will make you tear up; and it will make you believe in happy endings. This is the rom-com genius of a Max Monroe book.
***4 ‘Burner Phone’ Stars***
When the eye rolling and the snort/laughing equal out in the end, you know that you ended up enjoying the ride (even if the eyes are a bit sore from all that rolling) and I can’t deny that I enjoyed the whole opposites attract/enemies to lovers crazyness that Greer and Trent (and their crew) put me through. I laughed, I groaned, I shook my head and even swooned just a tinsy bit and was more than satisfied when everything was said and done.
Greer. Here’s the thing about Greer. I loved her. I did. I loved that she owned herself, the good, the bad, the ugly and had no problem speaking her mind, but…and yeah the BUT conflicts with what I just said. But there were times when I really wish she would listen to her inner monologue and take a step back and think about her words and actions. The same can be said for Trent, though in a different sense. He’s a good man and he’s got a lot going on, but man, he really did need a good kick in the balls because him and stress management were non existent.
The funny thing is that these two colliding ~ and dear lord did they ever collide ~ was the best thing that could have ever happened. They are opposites, but they ended up balancing each other out without losing what made them unique. Of course their road was all kinds of bumpy and crazy, and there was one point that kinda shocked me, but I also loved that it happened because it showed just how much these two were growing, so I couldn’t help but be okay with it and loved how everything turned out for them in the end.
I’m still a newbie to the minds of Max Monroe, but I’m really enjoying getting to know what makes them tick with each book I read. This one is definitely a crazy, chaotic romcom, but it was a fun one. The supporting cast of characters were crazy but I loved everything they brought to the table and I’m crossing my toes that Cap will get his soon, because the man definitely needs to be brought to his knees!

4.5 stars Come on its Max and Monroe it’s automatically going to be a good book. First of all starting the book off with Thatcher Kelly was brilliant. Read all of the original billionaire series and you will understand that statement. I loved all of the characters in this book but honestly Greer least of all. I liked her but I thought she was a little immature for someone her age. I’m all for strong speak her mind funny women ie..Cassie but I just wasn’t all in with Greer. Greer was belly laughing funny and the gym scene with the butt sweat had me rolling. I loved the premise of the story and how it flowed. The ending was great as well. I hope the next book in July will be Caplin’s story because I think he is going to be my favorite billionaire in this series. Until next time y’all happy reading.
You will LOVE Greer and Trents story! It will have you laughing so hard at the bickering between the two. Their story is defiantly enemies to lovers and you will not want it to end!
A new Billionaire Collection by Max Monroe! Oh! Yes! OMG! Thatcher’s Introduction is amazingly hilarious! I miss him! Greer and Trent’s story is a great enemies to lovers story, totally hilarious! Trent is a handsome character. Greer is sassy, hilarious and totally badass. They share an undeniable chemistry. I absolutely love their story! Now, I can’t wait for the next book in this Collection! Oh! And if you haven’t read or listened to the Bad Boy Billionaires Series yet, you have to!
5 Stars
The Billionaire Boss Next Door by the incredible writing duo Max Monroe, is their latest rom-com stand-alone and it was sooooo good! I haven’t laughed this hard while reading in forever. My stomach hurt after laughing so much and I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time. I honestly have no idea how they keep topping their last books time and time again but they do! TBBND was full of humor, friendships, witty banter, and characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.
I loved Greer so freakin’ much! She was hysterical and her one liners were on point. Greer owns her own interior design company and is struggling hardcore. When an opportunity arises that would help her tremendously, she jumps at the chance. Too bad she had no idea that her new boss was going to be a hot AF pain in the butt…
Trent was the perfect hero! He was strong, smart, and didn’t back down. When the new interior designer turns out to be the woman who gave him hell at the gym, he knows he’s done for. What he wasn’t expecting was to kinda love it…
Max Monroe has done it again!! Made me fall head over heels in love with the characters. Sparks literally fly off the pages between the hero and heroine. I seriously could not put this book down! I loved the storyline, it flowed well, and I am so looking forward to seeing what they come up with next!
Swoon bombs and hilarity abound in this new series by this dynamic duo!!
The Billionaire Boss Next Door has introduced so many funny, new characters. Trent and Greer have the best interactions. Between the covert texts from burners and the fighting, these two have red hot burning chemistry. I loved all the banter and transition from enemies to lovers.
I can’t wait to see what happens with this crazy group of billionaires!!
I loved this book, just like all the rest of their work. Funny and filled with great characters. I can’t wait to read what comes next.
4 stars!
Greer Hudson owns her own design company based out of her hometown of New Orleans. She has put everything into it but it has become a sinking ship no matter how hard she works. Then she scores an interview to design a hotel in New Orleans with Turner Properties, and if she can snag this job, her business will finally be successful.
Greer flies to New York for the interview but before she even meets with the owner of Turner Properties, she ends up insulting a stranger at gym, unaware that it’s her future boss. Things get a bit hostile when they start to work together and even worse, they end up being neighbors. Now, Greer sees the enemy everywhere she turns but unfortunately she can’t stay away from him if she wants to do her job well. The fact that she is wildly attracted to him only frustrates her further and things get even crazier the more time they spend together.
I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance and The Billionaire Boss Next Door has it all. Sizzling sexual tension, smoldering heat, swoon worthy sweetness, and a whole lot of heart fill the pages, and of course it is another romantic comedy by the hilarious Max Monroe duo so this book is also so freaking funny. The banter is fantastic, the friendships are gold, and romance made me giddy while making me laugh-out-loud. It’s such a feel good, fun read, I couldn’t get enough of it.
Greer is an individual and I loved that she’s not afraid to be herself. She is snarky, loudmouthed, unfiltered, and a jokester at heart, and every funny analogy she spouts out had me giggling. And the awkwardness! OMG, she is awkward at times. She says all the wrong things at the wrong times but she can’t help herself, especially around Trent.
Trent Turner is this sexy alpha businessman who knows what he wants and works hard to get it. He is desperate to prove himself to his father and the hotel in New Orleans is his way to do just that. However, he never factored in the fact that he would be working with the woman who insulted him, his new enemy, and things don’t go the way he expects. He has never met someone quite like Greer and when he is around her he doesn’t act himself. He can’t control his thoughts when it comes to her and it’s driving him mad.
Greer and Trent start off on the wrong foot and from that moment it is hysterical. They didn’t know they are going to be working together when they met at the gym and each interaction after seems to escalate in both comedy and intensity.
“I left my boss stranded on the sidewalk to wait for his own Uber, even though we were coming to the same place.
God, why can’t I stop doing things like this!
It’s like I’m trying to poke the billionaire beast.”
Their back and forth only adds to the sexual tension that is already off the charts and I couldn’t wait for these two to combust because let’s be real, I knew they would. However, since Greer works for Trent she has made herself off limits thinking it’s best to keep things professional. Trent isn’t in agreement and it’s hilarious.
“I don’t make a habit out of taking women on dates to lighting and fixture stores. The atmosphere isn’t exactly romantic, and they don’t let you drink wine while you shop.
But now that Greer has made it clear that dating is out of the picture, I’ve had to find ways to date her in secret.
And by “in secret,” I mean without her knowing.
I know; it’s complicated.”
Greer and Trent are so good together. They are on fire but what’s even better is the friendship they form. They get each other’s humor and I enjoyed the entertainment they provided each other just as much as they did.
Though at times their journey is bumpy, I knew they would figure things out and I couldn’t be happier with the ending. The epilogue is perfect. Fun and sweet and so Greer and Trent, I turned the last page with the biggest smile on my face.
“I know it won’t always be easy…but it will always be right.”
I really enjoyed the secondary characters in this book. Greer and Trent’s friends are awesome and I am so excited that there will be more billionaire books because I want more of this group. And I’ll add what a treat it was to get a little bit more of Thatch (from Banking the Billionaire ) and some other character POVs in this book. Too funny.
Overall, It’s a truly entertaining read and a great addition to Max Monroe’s billionaires!!
Max Monroe duo certainly know how to deliver a story with all the feels, I laughed so hard at times and got my heart squeezed in another. Greer and Trent story is one you don’t want to miss two opposites getting to one another. First they meet different times, then they become enemies and then lovers. So you get them all in one. Geer is so much fun, she is crazy while Trent needed to get his behind kicked. Their chemistry however is a big bang. I can’t wait for the next book of these amazing authors.
Max Monroe never fails to give us amazingly feisty heroines and Greer is the bomb diggity!
Greer is sadly ending a chapter in her life with the closing of her design business but simultaneously about to begin a new book being the designer for a new hotel, in her hometown, BINGO! Only thing hindering this endeavor is her boss, Trent. He’s arrogant, rude, and heaven help her, gorgeous and smells like sin.
Trent is deeply invested in this hotel adventure. It will seal the deal of taking over for his father. But his new designer is determined to screw this up.
Add in their chemistry, attraction, and fluffing funny friends and these two go from 0 to 60 instantaneously. But slowly, the other seems to be falling.
And talk about first impressions, whoa! Know it all about gym equipment, masked kisses, foul mouthed suggestions…perfect!
If you’re looking for lots of laughs and a torturous slow burn then this is the book for you!
I am so head over heels for Trent Turner right now, it’s bordering on creepy. It’s possible you may not like him in the beginning, but give him some time and you will absolutely fall in love. Trent is a hot mess, and I love watching a guy who seems to have his act together lose it over a girl. Trent may be grumpy and a little neurotic at times, but underneath all that stress is a man who is sweet, loving, loyal, and a little bit dirty.
Greer is perfect! She’s awkward, quirky, loud, opinionated, unfiltered, and easily one of the best characters I’ve seen in a long time. She is who she is and she doesn’t care what others think of her. Sometimes that gets her into trouble, but it always makes for an entertaining time.
I’ve probably said this in every single Max Monroe review I’ve written to date, but this has to be my favorite story of theirs so far. This book is an absolute riot. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much when reading a story, but Trent and Greer had me in stitches the whole way through. And it’s not just them. The entire supporting cast will hook you until you get sucked into this little insane family you’ll never want to leave. This is an amazing enemies-to-lovers story that you’re going to love!
They’re BAAAAAAACCCCCKKKK! Turn up the volume, grab a cold drink and enjoy them! The Billionaire Bad Boys were just the beginning. They have friends…lots and lots of friends. And if you know Thatch, then you have a good idea of the kind of friends they have! If you don’t, why are you waiting?
Max Monroe brings us a new set of Billionaires. We love them. This is Trent and Greer’s story and it’s an awesome beginning. We get a touch of the New Orleans sass, some of the big city life and lots of fireworks. Trent just can’t for the life of him understand this person named Greer. He doesn’t just NOT get her, he actually hates her. Or so he thinks. Thankfully his friends see the role fate is playing and they help him out.
Greer is another one of Max Monroe’s fabulous females. She has pulled herself up by her thong, started her own business and just needs a little break. This hotel job could move her into a whole new class in the world of designers. Can she handle the BOSS and keep her mouth closed enough to keep the job? Or maybe her mouth needs to help a girl out!
Get started now. You will never regret the enjoyable afternoon spent with a good Max Monroe rom-com.
