Same building.

***DNF***
I’m in a horrible book slump, y’all. I’ve really enjoyed this author’s books in the past, but this one fell flat for me to the point that I wasn’t able to finish. It was with a heavy heart that I had to DNF at 37%, even though the vast majority of the other reviews for this book are super glowy. Maybe I’m under caffeinated and grumpy because of it? I dunno. But I don’t feel good about this.
Plot overview: Quirky, snarky Greer takes a job without realizing that her new boss is a) the guy she insulted the previous evening, and b) her new next door neighbor. Hilarity ensues. It’s a enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract romance.
If the book was poorly written, I’d feel OK about DNFing it. But that’s not the case. The writing here is great. The dialogue is hilarious, the side characters are great, I adored Trent, the hero, and it hits on some of my all-time favorite romance tropes. Where the book totally lost me was Greer, the heroine. Here are some of the ways in which she chapped my ass:
1. She’s late all the time and not at all apologetic about it. In fact, she seems sort of proud of it. That’s just rude.
2. She thinks Trent is a jerk because he questioned her about just sitting on a piece of exercise equipment he wanted to use while she scrolled aimlessly through her phone, not exercising. I’d be irritated too if I wanted to use a machine at the gym and some chick was just sitting there, in my way, staring at her phone. That didn’t make TRENT the jerk, Greer. YOU’RE the jerk.
3. Insulting the fancy hotel you’re staying in—free of charge, I might add—to a stranger the night before your interview with said hotel’s management is incredibly stupid and rude. (Is anyone else sensing a pattern with Greer?)
4. Greer’s extreme reluctance to apologize to Trent for her assholery (or even acknowledge her assholery) was incredibly aggravating. Grow up, Greer! You’re in debt up to your eyeballs and need the job. How about you try to NOT irk the crap out of your new boss?
5. Greer has the personality of a rabid badger. It’s no shock to me that her business is failing and even her best friend gets super irritated with her every time they talk.
Then there was the fact that Greer and Trent’s good friends decided to keep secrets from the couple for no good, apparent reason, other than their own amusement. That kind of made them seem like jerkoffs, too, and up until that point, they’d seemed like good folks, so it didn’t ring true for me.
So, there it is. Yet another example of a book everyone but ME loved. I’m so, so alone…

Max Monroe has done it again by giving us yet another billionaire to fall in love with……..
If you are looking for a laugh out loud hilarious read The Billionaire Boss Next Door is a must read.
I’m not going to give too much of Greer and Trent’s story away because I firmly believe this book needs to be read with no expectations to get the best out of this book you need to go in with an open mind so all I’m going to tell you is how this book made me feel. It certainly ticked all my boxes, characters with sizzling chemistry and banter that flowed so naturally, laugh out loud moments as well as some giggles to myself moments all made me love this book. Oh and who can forget the swoon worthy secondary characters who I really hope get their own stories in the near future.
This is a highly entertaining read that will leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat so all that’s left for me to say is get your one click finger clicking you won’t regret it.
What a quirky read. If you are looking for a light hearted, funny read this is the book for you.
Greer is something else, she literally has no filter and it is great. You never know what is going to come out of her mouth and it makes her so endearing and lovable. Trent has so much on his shoulders that he is a little hard to take in the beginning. Trying to prove himself almost ruins him. Putting these to together made for some wickedly fun moments.
Can you just please write a bad rom-com already Max Moroe? Just kidding, I don’t think you are even capable of such a thing. Max Monroe is up there with the dynamic duo of Christina Lauren in my rom-com world. Once again they gave us a cocky bunch of Billionaires (well – Trent claims he’s just the son of a billionaire – but “whatever”).
First things first – the Thatch prologue was everything – I miss him so much, he could possibly be my favorite MM character and seeing him start me off in this book was the best! Please don’t tell Thatch how much I loved it because as I continued to read, Trent began to sneak onto my list of favorite MM characters. And I really don’t want to choose who I love more..I just can’t.
Max Monroe gave me some of my favorite tropes – rom-com, enemies to loves, boss/employee and neighbors falling in love! They did it with swoonability, sexiness (duh of course they did), laughs, banter that produced belly laughs and yeah – I may have gotten a few side-eyes while reading this book but you know what? TOTALLY WORTH IT!
As the summer is sneaking up this book is the PERFECT beach read.
This bunch of boys is about to give the OG Billionaires a run for their money!
I CAN NOT wait for Cap’s story, he delivered some of my favorite lines in the book!
There ain’t no shame in my big dick game.
…love…it slaps you in the dick almost as often as it tickles your balls. You gotta balance the two and figure out how to enjoy the pain. Get turned on by it. Harness it. Use it.
Max Monroe – Is Cap related to Thatch by any chance? Distant cousins or anything or in order to be a Billionaire you have to have a large dick? Is that is the handbook or something?
I loved this story but I love all things Max Monroe and this didn’t disappoint!! This book makes me want to go to New Orleans the feel of the city the charm it just is calling my name.
Geer is one of the best female characters I’ve ever read she’s smart and confident and funny. When she meets Trent in the gym I literally laughed because “happy people don’t kill people” every one needs a little Elle Woods in their life.
I just loved the mystery of the kiss and then seeing both prospective atheists struggle she has and the pressure he’s under.
This book just clicked all the buttons for the feels and funny a little sexy and a great read.
I wasn’t sure about a new group of billionaires because let’s face it we all love Thatcher but Trent is pretty awesome. He is sweet sexy caring and funny. Paired with crazy Geer the story just flowed. I can’t wait for the next one but I hope there’s a lot more Geer and Trent.
This was a great book. I laughed so many times, but also rooted for Greer and Trent to fall in love. A perfect enemies to lovers novel.
4.5 stars for The Billionaire Boss Next Door by Max Monroe. I am a big fan of the way the Max Monroe rights. There is just a way Monroe writes that conveys emotions better than most. I love the banter that Trent and Greer have in this book. Also, the side characters are amazing. They truly made this story what it is.
Greer has worked hard to make her design business a success, and that just isn’t happening for her yet. She hopes if she lands this job it will. Trent wants his father to realize how hard he is trying to show him that he can do his job. The new hotel in NOLA is it for both of them. However, these two do not get off to the best start.
This was a great book filled with lots of laughs. I enjoyed it and read it in one sitting. It is a must read!
There’s a new set of billionaires to read about.
Trent and Greer will crack you up.
Their friends interfering ways are hysterical.
Don’t eat while reading this book, you may either choke from laughter, or spit your food out from their antics.
I can’t wait to read who the next billionaire will be.
I could not even finish this book, so boring with annoying characters
The Billionaire Boss Next Door gives us what we love most about Max Monroe. Trent and Greer’s story is quirky, hilariously funny and seriously steamy. A love hate relationship blooms between these two that at times has you laughing out loud then wanting to yell at the pair of them. As behind the scenes plotting is carried out these two don’t stand a chance to stay away from each other. Just a little shout out to our good looking billionaire friend Thatch, I missed you and your introduction to this book grabbed my attention and had me starting this book off with a huge smile on my face. Their story will keep you entertained from start to finish and will leave you feeling a little lighter by the end. If you are after a romance that is a little unpredictable, humorous and packed full of characters that you will instantly love, then grab this book and a glass of wine and sit back and enjoy the party.
The Billionaire Boss Next Door is Max Monroe doing what they do best…make me laugh! While I love their more serious books, their rom coms are where it is at. I seriously would like to spend the day in this duos heads just to see how they come up with the comedic gold they write!
Greer is definitely one of a kind! She definitely gives Cassie a run for her money when it comes to her antics. I don’t want to give anything away, but the burner phone advice was hilarious!
Trent was not my favorite at first, but he won me over pretty quickly. His John Cusack Say Anything moment….swoon! Hands down one of the most romantic things I have ever read!
“ , ’ .”
by the hilarious ladies of Max Monroe was simply…FANTASTIC! You can ALWAYS expect a laugh out loud, hilarious, and romantic experience with Max Monroe at the helm! Greer and Trent were so freaking adorable together! This enemies-to-lovers-to-SO MUCH MORE love story had me swooning one minute, and in absolute stitches the next. There were sarcastic quips and barbs flung about that made for such satisfying banter. When that was eventually pushed to the side, there was nothing but genuine affection and adoration from both sides. There were quite a few tropes going on in this book, all of which I loved, and the authors gifted us with a beautiful, entertaining, and charming finished product that you’ll want to experience over and over again.

Greer has a tiny problem – her interior design business is struggling. So now she’s off to interview, and hopes she really gets the job because her livelihood depends upon it. While in the hotel half-heartedly using the gym, she manages to insult a really hot guy when she mouths off about how ugly the decor is. But no biggie because she’ll never see him again. Right?
And when that really hot guy turns out to be her new boss, what’s a girl to say? Oops perhaps? What about when said boss turns out to be her new neighbor? Cue the snarky banter, the enemies to lovers thing we all love so much.
The Billionaire Boss Next Door was filled with Max Monroe’s trademark witty, snarky banter, loads of passion, and fun times. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is because Greer was just a bit too much for me. I know she was supposed to be awkward and different, and she was those things, but the fact that she had no filter on her mouth got on my last nerve sometimes. Honestly, I’m surprised Trent put up with her rude, runaway mouth. But aside from Greer, I loved everything else about this story. I can’t wait for more from this world, yay for Cap’s story next!
One of the best rom com that you will ever read.

Who better to introduce Max Monroe’s new billionaire story but the Big Man himself – Thatch! Anything who gets his stamp of approval is a sure bet as far as I’m concerned, which meant that I couldn’t wait to get to know Trent Turner and watch how his awkward, unfriendly, and combustible ‘relationship’ with his number one enemy, employee, and neighbor, Greer, played out in The Billionaire Boss Next Door.
Trent and Greer’s first interaction is less than stellar, some might even call it hellacious, and it’s that initial encounter that sets a precedence for what’s to come for this unknowing boss and his employee. And let me tell you…these two definitely know how to ruffle each other’s feathers, so to speak, and throw shade even if it isn’t warranted.
These two are both a bit over-the-top, which means that their bickering, their banter, and their desire to one up each other make for quite entertaining interactions that not only illustrates the amount of sexual tension that surrounds them but also the fact that their hatred for one another has turned into something so much more complicated, begging the question as to the true nature of their respective feelings and what it will take for them to focus on the present instead of what made them despise each other in the first place.
I truly would have loved to be a referee in the hallway of Greer and Trent’s building because it would provide me with a slew of hilarious moments made even more entertaining simply because of their attitudes and the passive aggressive ways they attempt to deal with one another. And even though it is a bit of a slow burn romance, Max Monroe does a great job building off of Greer and Trent’s mutual attraction and the change of direction their relationship takes the more time they spend together and realize that their hatred is unwarranted and counter productive when it comes to the potential of what they could be.
Enemies-to-lovers, office romances are some of my favorite due to the characters’ need to one up and embarrass each other, and then when you add in the comedic flair that Max Monroe brings to Trent and Greer’s story, it’s the perfect formula for a laugh out loud, quirky, at times adorable and steamy read.
4.5 Poison Apples
If you’re in the mood for a hilarious Romantic Comedy then look no further, The Billionaire Boss Next Door will tickle your funny bone and you’ll fall head over heels with the main characters, Greer and Trent. This lighthearted, enemies-to-lovers romance had me constantly laughing out loud; the writing is spot on and filled with snarky and witty banter. And as an added bonus the secondary characters are hysterical, they were the icing on the cake! I almost hate to mention it’s a Slow Burn, something I adore, because I know so many readers hesitate to read this trope. Do yourselves a favor and dive in, this is one you can’t miss!
Greer Hudson, at thirty-three, is an interior designer and owner of Hudson Design. Despite happy customers and referrals, after five hard years, she’s on the brink of declaring bankruptcy and closing shop. This hasn’t deterred her snarky and biting sense of humor, it’s what keeps her sane. That and her best friend, Emory, who used her connections to set up an interview in NYC with Turner Properties, for the position of head designer needed for the new Vanderturn hotel opening, in her hometown of NOLA. She really needs this job, if she wants to eat and have a place to sleep at night.
Trent Turner (Junior) is the only son and heir apparent to the multi-billion dollar business his father started. Now thirty-three and a workaholic, Trent’s been trying to prove to his father he’s capable of taking over the business. And when he’s handed the responsibility of the new property, in NOLA, Trent knows he has to prove he can run a tight ship and open on time. He’s surprised and a little upset his father interviewed and handpicked the staff Trent’s going to be working with, for the next nine months. Including the obnoxious woman Trent had an unfortunate run in with at the gym, and he discovers is his new designer when his father introduces them.
“If she wants a battle, I’ll give her a damn war.”
These two get along like oil and water, not having made the best first impressions, but knowing they have to work together. And when they find out they’re next door neighbors, thanks to their meddling friends, the shenanigans commence. Soon, they realize how very wrong they were about the other. Greer makes Trent laugh, something he rarely does, and nudges him to be a kinder boss, with funny and strange anonymous text messages.
“She is one of the funniest women—no, one of the funniest people, man or woman—I’ve ever met in my life. She always has some kind of joke in her back pocket, and it’s always effortless. I swear, I could sell tickets for following her around the day to people. Once word of mouth spread, she’d be sold out well beyond her lifespan.”
Greer insists they keep their relationship professional; he is her boss after all, while Trent is adamant he wants to date and slowly convinces her to give him a chance.
“But now that Greer has made it clear that dating is out of the picture, I’ve had to find ways to date her in secret. And by ‘in secret’, I mean without her knowing. I know; it’s complicated.”
Until they have a misunderstanding, and luckily, their friends decide they need to interfere and help these two out. Just wait until you reach the incredible epilogue!

Thank you Max Monroe and socialbutterfly_pr for the ARC.
This book has so much to offer. With Max Monroe you know you will always have a good time. This one definitely did not disappoint.
This is the perfect summer read, light and funny. Greer is hilarious, snarky and sassy. Trent is a tyrant to sweetheart and swoony.
The story follows Trent opening a Hotel in New Orleans for his father’s company and trying to impress his father. Greer was hired as the designer for the new hotel. Their first encounter did not go so well and the story goes from there. Their friends are hilarious and add so much to the story. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and get more of these secondary characters!
It feels amazing to be back in Max Monroe’s billionaire romance world!
The Billionaire Boss Next Door is a hilarious, steamy, and fantastical rom-com that’s just a bit over-the-top, but in a totally good way. This enemies-to-lovers, office romance will have you doubling over with laughter and swooning over the entertaining story line.
Greer and Trent were great characters. Their unique relationship started out a bit (okay, maybe a lot) rocky, so the progression and development of this precarious relationship was completely intriguing. The book is riddled with satirical banter, red-hot chemistry, and the sexual tension literally combusts from the pages (okay, not literally…but you get my point). Throw into the mix an extraordinary ensemble of secondary characters, and you’ve got the beginnings to another outrageously delightful and enticing (standalone) series that readers will fall head-over-heels for!
Max Monroe have penned some of the best rom-coms I’ve read. Their stories are fun and comical, with plenty of eccentricity that makes them memorable well after you’ve finished reading. And this lighthearted and whimsical romance will only leave you wanting more.
