I was sold this book based on the ridiculous title and the author. No doubt in my mind I would be entertained. Max Monroe own zany comedies with billionaires. They freaking copyrighted that sh!t. So of course my needy, greedy self had to get in on this!
The Billionaire Boss Next Door might not just roll off your tongue but it will have you choking on your tongue. AND…biting your lip, holding in cackles, and definitely snorting at inopportune times. As a matter of fact their warning/dedication was 110% accurate. if reading this publicly avoid beverages, hot foods, and choking hazards, you will thank me. (You will also be hungry and dehydrated but very much alive!)
I had a ridiculously entertaining time reading The Billionaire Boss Next Door. I’m super excited that this is only the beginning of the next series by these authors. Live long and prosper newest crop of billionaires! I will be here with you every step of the way!

When Greer and Trent first meet, it’s not in a boardroom or an office for an interview but in a workout room. Greer knows design and much to Trent’s annoyance, she’s truthful in her assessment of his father’s hotel. Greer is hired as the interior designer for the new Vanderturn New Orleans Hotel and Trent is overseeing the whole operation. Talk about an explosive beginning. To add fuel to the fire, they wind up living right next door to each other. Their hatred for each other grows with each passing day until their mutual friends have had enough. They scheme to bring these two together, no matter how hard Greer and Trent fight it. Can these two stay professional long enough to create the most beautiful hotel the world has ever seen? And even more importantly, can they open their hearts to each other, or will they ruin their only chance for happiness?
This is my first book by Max Monroe (I know, I know, where have I been?) and it’s like they wrote it just for me. I love romantic comedies and in this one, the dialogue is side-splitting humor I couldn’t stop laughing at. The one-liners are balanced by the electric sexual tension between these two. The best part of the whole story was when Greer didn’t just hop in the sack with Trent but told him she couldn’t sleep with her boss. No matter how much they both wanted it, they were responsible adults. I won’t give away anything but there is a swoon-worthy ending which melted my heart into my shoes.
If you love romantic comedy with a snarky heroine, an alpha male in need of an ego check, pick up The Billionaire Boss Next Door. Highly recommend!
Favorite Character/Quote: Greer. A woman after my own heart, she’s the spunky heroine who’s on the precipice between success and failure. Every emotion, thought and snarky comment is presented in this laugh-out-loud-til-you-pee-your-pants romantic comedy.

Greer is a struggling interior designer from New Orleans. She’s trying to save her little company with this huge hotel job she’s about to interview for.
Trent is the heir to said hotel empire and he’s struggling to prove to his dad that he’s got what it takes to one day take over the company.
Greer and Trent can’t stand each other.
Their first meeting at the gym made this reader fall from the couch laughing – but it also made those two hate each other.
And just hours later they were kissing each other. But it was a masked party – so they don’t know they kissed each other. LOL!
And now they have to work closely together for the next nine months!
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN!
Because not only will they fight and bicker and argue at work all day long – once they’re home at night – their fighting won’t stop – because they live across the hall from each other!
LOL! I so want to move into the apartment next door and just watch them fight their way to a happily ever after!
Which obviously will take a tiny little while!
But the reader has an amazing time witnessing their journey!
I really loved reading this story. Trent is the perfect guy – rich, hot, nice, grumpy.
And Greer is just adorable & hilarious!
I was expecting something a little bit funnier though. It was really funny and adorable … but other reviews and comments from MM led me to believe that I would be ROFLing all through the book – which I didn’t at all. Plus the whole next door thing doesn’t happen until a third of the book is over already and the title suggested something a bit more romcom along those neighbor lines. I expected a tiny bit more hilarious moments and maybe even a few more sexy moments. But maybe that’s just me.
I still really loved the book. You can’t not love a book that starts with a prologue from Thatch! (P.S. should you not know who Thatch is – you’ve obviously been asleep these last few years and need to hurry to amazon and get started with Max Monroe’s first amazing Billionaire Bad Boy series!)
I also loved all the other characters in this story. Greer’s bestie Emory and her boy Quince. (I’ve read all MM books so far, but I don’t remember those two? Did they have their own story? I can’t remember! But I don’t think they did – even though I would’ve wanted to read how they fell for each other!)
And I especially adored Quince & Trent’s other BFF Cap. Cap and Thatch just have to be twins, right?!
Although … those three might’ve been in this book a tiny bit too much for my tastes. I adored them – but all their scenes took time away from Greer and Trent’s love story. It’s not really all that bad, but it was a tiny little bit too much. I guess we had to have them in here to prepare for Cap’s story. I can’t wait to read his book! The next Billionaire Collection book will be with us in July – but it might not yet be Cap’s – he’s not yet ready for love!
THE BILLIONAIRE BOSS NEXT DOOR was an adorable & funny New-York-Boss-Man-New-Orleans-Enemies-To-Lovers Rom-Com! I adored it!
Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Trent – this one is MINE!!! (Quince, Cap & Thatch are mine too obviously!)
Max Monroe return to their rom-com billionaire roots and the result is a hilariously good time! Greer and Trent were fantastic – their sarcastic jabs at each other and disdain for one another had me rolling from the start. The fact that they had to put up with each other through work and then later, at home as neighbors, made for some seriously explosive chemistry. It was just a delight to watch unfold and with a great cast of supporting characters, The Billionaire Boss Next Door is a fabulous start to what is sure to be another hilariously fun and sexy series.
A hilarious story by an author duo that I have a feeling will be a favorite soon. But it was more than just funny, there were really good ideas as well. For instance, Greer’s description of what it is like to be single at a New Year’s Eve party was spot on, exactly the way it feels. Then there was the part that it sounded like Greer was being killed while she watched a certain tv show, even through the wall between her and Trent’s apartment. The people who lived next door to me when I lived in my townhouse probably wondering what was going on whenever I was watching Whose Line Is It Anyway? I mean my dogs hate when I watch that show, they won’t sit on the couch with me because I laugh so much. There was the end though, with some misunderstandings, and I thought I’d be mad at Trent for what happened, but he cleared it up pretty quickly once we heard the rest of the conversation. Which meant then that I was mad at Greer for not confronting him about it.
My only big issue with this was the female narrator paused so much and sometimes at weird spots, and read so slow that I had to speed up her narration. But I didn’t feel like messing with it back and forth on chapters to keep the male narrator on regular speed, so I had to get used to him a little fast, and that wasn’t the most ideal. In the end though this book was hilarious and I can’t wait to read/listen to more in this series or other books by this author duo.
After reading the other series I thought I’d be loving this one too. Unfortunately it just didn’t hit the mark for me. It took me awhile to get into the book. I loved how Greer and Trent met and didn’t know it was each other at the time. But the chemistry from then on wasn’t there for me.

The Billionaire Boss Next Door is one of my favorite books that I have read this year so far. The whole story is steamy and delicious that I could not stop reading it. The main characters Trent and Greer do not like each other but have to work together. Trent moves in right next door to Greer and their banter is so cute and hilarious at the same time.
This is one enemy to lover’s story that any romance lover will like. There is substance and amazing character development. I loved all the side characters as well. This story would make one amazing rom-com on the big screen. I loved how easily the story flowed and how fast it was to read. I could not get enough of the two main characters and all of their tension between each other.
Many times while reading I began to laugh out loud. If you have not picked up this gem of a book then please do. Easily five stars from me. What a great office romance book. I am a new fan of Max Monroe! Their writing reminded me a lot of my favorite author duo Christina Lauren.
Max Monroe really knows how to write witty dialogue, elevating her books from your typical romance. Her characters are three-dimensional and totally relatable. This is my first book of hers but it certainly won’t be my last.
Another hilarious read by Max Monroe that had me hooked from the start. I absolutely love the banter between Greer and Trent. When they were together it was explosive. Amazing characters and amazing story that everyone must read. I’m dying for Cap’s story because something tells me it’s going too be Phenomenal. Another 5 Star read that everyone absolutely must one click.
I borrowed this book with Prime Reading. It was suggested based on other books I had read.
I enjoyed this slow burn kind of story. I found the premise to be sort of cute, the way the couple met being less than ideal and then some efforts made by their friends to sort of throw them together. I think having both characters bringing in some baggage that the other didn’t know about made them more vulnerable and when they finally opened up to each other it was all the more meaningful.
The ending was my favorite part of the book. The way that the final party was set up to let Greer know just how much she meant was SO romantic and sweet.
Max Monroe has seriously won my heart! With each book I read by this dynamic duo, I fall more in love with their writing and storytelling abilities. The Billionaire Boss Next Door is a hilariously funny story that will not only make you practically pee your pants, but it will also make you swoon. There’s so much to love about this enemies-to-lovers, office-romance, boy/girl next door story. Greer is ridiculously funny and I swear, I laughed out loud repeatedly at some of the things that came out of her mouth! She’s pushy, independent and says exactly what’s on her mind, often to her own detriment. Trent is trying to come out of the shadows of his father. He’s over-worked, over-stressed and just wants to prove himself in the world of business. He and Greer had instant chemistry and were sheer perfection together. I loved this book SO HARD! 5 stars
I loved this book for many reasons. It’s mostly set in my favorite place New Orleans. Though I would have liked more descriptions of places, that is a personal preference only and nothing against the book. The fun comes from the secondary characters already knowing immediately that Greer and Trent were meant for each other. Enemies to lovers, co-workers and Neighbors, sexy times were bound to happen! I loved that this book actually got me to laugh literally out loud, and was such a fun read that you don’t want to put it down! I devoured it in one day, and couldn’t wait to jump into book #2.
Why have I waited this long to read a Max Monroe book? What have I been doing?! The Billionaire Boss Next Door was everything you could want in a rom-com, yet it still felt “new” because of the fantastic delivery. Greer and Trent were amazing MCs and their chemistry and hilarious banter were fabulous. The secondary characters only added to the joy of this story. It’s an endearing enemies to lovers/boss to lover story with wit and heart, and the writing is just what I crave in a feel good rom-com—whip smart and sarcastic! 5 stars for my first Max Monroe book. They are now on my go-to list!
Laugh out loud funny. Greer and Trent and their enemies to lovers story is one you should read. I love the word play of these authors. There are hot scenes, hilarious scenes, and tender scenes. I enjoyed the character growth of Trent as he learns to open up and also to become a leader. I hate how hard his father is on him at the beginning, but love how their relationship develops over the course of the story. Ashley’s growth is more from confidence in herself and her ability to pull out of her downward spiral to be a success. I love how much of a part communication plays in the success of their relationship, just like real life.
If you want a book to lift your spirits, you need to read this one.
This quote could also be used to describe this writing duo.
Trent Turner, has worked for his father since he was young. He is supposed to take over the reins, if only his father would trust him to do it.
He is going to help open a new hotel in New Orleans, but his dad doesn’t even trust him enough to hire his own team.
When his dad hires Greer, they don’t hit it off. As a matter of fact, they can’t stand other.
Greer, who says of herself, “I’m awkward and socially inept. Why they even let me out of the womb, I’m not sure” needs this job to keep her design company afloat.
She has to put up with pretty boy, even though he is making it difficult, as he barks orders to everyone, to the point they end up crying or practically having a nervous breakdown.
She comes up with a brilliant idea to try and turn his attitude around with a burner phone and some suttle attitude adjustment hints.
When their friends discover that infact they met one night at a New Year’s Eve masquerade ball, and had the ultimate kiss at midnight, they plot to get them together, which includes having them move in next door to each other.
This is a great enemies to lovers story with a drink snorting disclaimer.
Looking forward to reading the next one.
These two are so perfect for each other. Both equally stubborn and hardworking, they definitely take a journey to come together.
Greer is an Interior Designer who works for Trent. The Billionaire Next door neighbor. I had so much fun reading this story. I loved Greer’s sassy, crazy, and ridiculously outspoken personality.
Wonderful characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. I’ll be anxiously awaiting more from this series!!
Max Monroe writes one of the best rom-coms I’v ever read and this fact propably will never change.
The Bilionaire Boss Next Door is perfect example for that how to write great story, with lots of laughing in the background. Hot guys and sassy heriones is for sure Max Monroe’s Jam.
Greer and Trent – main characters- are really sweet together, even if they so different !!!! I really enjoyed their opposite characters because they were amazing with this unexpected match …. All this things gave Greer and Trent obviously funny moments and with this little harder ones! And THIS attraction between them … It was overwhelming ! It was thick like London mist and so hot that it could melt a lot of ice on this planet
I liked the most in whole story to watch how such a different people fell in love so deeeply when they started from very uncoventional friendship, with hate and lust in the background.
This book is great adventure with Max and Monroe, for sure The Bilionaire Boss Next Door is a must read !
Absolutely loved this book it made me laugh so much! I loved the snarky attitude of Greer and Trent they are two Peas in a pod! Definitely one click you won’t be disappointed by Max Monroe.
4.5 stars
I really enjoy stories with witty banter, outrageous quirky characters and funny moments!
Greer was too funny with her outbursts and I found her refreshing! Plus her best friend is a hoot!
What can I say about Trent??!! My oh my!! I really kinda loved him with his friends! What a laugh! So much tongue in cheek humor!
The text messages were too hilarious and I loved Greer’s sense of humor, actually all the characters just gelled together so well. I cannot wait to read more of this series.
A rather enjoyable read that will cause involuntary moments of laughter and happiness and wanting to be best friends with the characters!!! Should definitely be on your must read list!!!
I always enjoy books by the wonder-duo of Max Monroe and this one was no different. Spinning off the Billionaire series, this one includes all the things I loved about those books: Hilarious characters, solid friendships, men who are slightly clueless, and of course, Thatch!
This one focused on Greer, an interior designer that really needs to pull off this job to keep her head afloat, and Trent, the son of a hotel mogul who needs to prove himself worthy of standing on his own so that he can inherit the family empire.
The enemies – to – lovers trope is one that always makes me wonder if two people who REALLY didn’t like each other can come together and find their happily ever after. If you trust in Max Monroe, you know that they can make this happen (and they do).
I enjoyed this one, and while most books are told by the two main characters, this one had chapters from several which made it different from the norm. I look forward to more from this new group!
