#3 What is your biggest takeaway from the story?
Ruby Rockford and I are meant to be.
I just have to prove it to her.
For the entirety of my adult life, I’ve been content.
Content in my single lifestyle, content in my stressful-but-extremely-successful job as the main corporate counsel for almost every Fortune 500 company in North America, and content in my playful, spontaneous ways.
I had no idea it was possible for someone to change my mind.
The endless women and work are no longer enough, and just as Ruby Rockford told me–it’s about time I grow up.
It’s going to take a strategic attack from more than a couple brilliant minds to win her affection, but luckily, I know exactly where to find the right guys for the job…
The Billionaire Book Club.
It’s safe to say that I, Caplin Hawkins, the man most women would call The Ultimate Player, have finally met my match, and man oh man, has my end game changed.
I’m coming for you, Ruby.
And soon, you’ll be coming for me, too.

From the intro you will be laughing out loud. These ladies know how to hook you and not let you go until you are finished with the book.
Take this as a warning, make sure you don’t have anything important or time sensitive to do when you pick this book up, because you will get NOTHING accomplished until you are done! I could not put this book down. Cap and Ruby’s story is funny and sexy sprinkled with feels the best combination for a great book. I can not tell you enough… Stop everything, run and grab this book!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
5 stars??? Pffft! That doesn’t come close to what The Billionaire Book Club deserves. I wish I could give it 100 hilarious stars. I completely adored this book! It was unputdownable, highly entertaining, and steamy!!! I laughed the entire time and may have shed a tear or two.
The characters in this book all have their own special characteristics that make them funny and endearing. I loved seeing characters from previous books and a new one too. The friendship aspect of this story is one of my favorite things about it. They are always there for one another, and their antics cracked me up. Cap stole my heart with his hilarity, wit, charm, and endearing personality. I loved Ruby because she was strong, smart, beautiful, and took zero crap from Cap. Ruby’s mother was hilarious too but I can relate to wanting to protect your child no matter how old they are.
Max Monroe are absolutely amazing & brilliant at writing rom-coms (romance period, not just rom-coms)! I don’t know where they come up with some of their phrases, but they are hilarious too. I am naming them Max Monroe-isms. You see a pattern here I’m sure…this book is just plain hilarious. Lol. The plot was unique, original, and had me flipping the pages as fast as I could. I stayed up till 3:40 a.m to finish it. I cannot say enough great things about it, & how much I enjoyed reading it. I have loved every book in this series of interconnected standalones. I was excited for this one and it did not disappoint! We get to see who the next book will be about and I am super excited about it!!!
***ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.***
OMG!!!! I never thought I’d love the antics of a character as much as Thatch Kelly but M&M just hadn’t created Cap Hawkins yet. Hands down, he’s my favorite of all the M&M men (don’t tell Thatch!!)
Ruby is so fierce. She has all the qualities: super smart, snarky, and zero problem standing up for herself. I seriously want to be her when I grow up.
I can’t get enough of this series and will be counting down the days until Lena’s story hits the shelves!!!
The most amazing, entertaining, Cap-tivating story that you wont be able to put down!! I know I sure couldn’t.
Hilarious banter and friendships that make you want to be a part of everything. If you could live in a story, this is definitely one I want to live in…too bad its fictional LOL.
I literally fell in love with both Cap and Ruby. They were both so much fun…the never ending witty banter just made this book so worth reading and a highlight of my week. What happens when Caplin Hawkins meets his match???
The authors have written another sensational book and I look forward to more!!! They sure are talented writers of romantic comedies!!!
A book that must be read or you are missing out the absolute best rom com.
Ya know, I really should stop being surprised by how much I adore Max Monroe books but they get me every. single. time!
I’ve been anxiously waiting for Cap’s book and this one did not disappoint. I laughed so many times at the absurdity of these characters and the things that come out of their mouths that I’m quite sure I annoyed the hell out of my husband LOL!
One of my favorite things about this series is the interaction and involvement of all the Billionaire characters. It makes me fall that much more in love with them all!
It’s walk-into-walls engrossing (not saying I did that or anything though). It’s laugh-out-loud funny. It’s Rom-Com gold.
Laugh out loud hilarious! Book three in the Billionaire Collection (each can be read as a stand alone) features one of our favorite loud mouthed, confident, known playboys, Caplan Hawkins. He doesn’t believe in ‘One true love.’ He is fiercely determined to be playing the field until the end of time. Never wanting to ‘settle’ down with just one woman…. but then he meets Ruby. A beautiful (though she may not realize how attractive she is,) smart, strong, independent, witty woman. She doesn’t fall for his charm and isn’t afraid to put him in his place. Things go well between them (in a platonic way) yet he is enjoying the challenge of getting her in his bed. Of course once he gets his way, he becomes the biggest idiot, but eh, whatcha expect from someone who has never been in a relationship. He may have one of the brightest minds when it comes to law, but he is totally out of his element with matters of the heart. There is so much humor throughout the entire book. Even if you are unfamiliar with the series, or the guest cast of characters, you will love and appreciate what they each bring to the story. Many of my favorite bits were when the men started the book club! All these men sitting around talking about women and how to get (and keep) them…. while reading some romance novels. 😉 The book is, obviously, fun and light hearted. Easy to read. Hard to put down. Quick paced. Well written. There is some steam. It alternates between POV.
*I received an ARC of this book.
*4,5 stars*
Every time I read a book by these authors, I can’t help myself from laughing out loud ‘cuz the stories are always so laughable and just puts you automatically in a good mood! I really adored Ruby in this story and she and Caplin were hilarious together. It’s really a heartfelt story that will also pull on your heartstrings but will make you snort out loud at the same time 🙂
Caplin is a very well known lawyer but also a player who has a different woman every night of the week. He doesn’t want to settle down, even though all of his friends seem to lately. When he first meets Ruby, there’s this instant attraction between them but Ruby wants nothing to do with him but he doesn’t let up and eventually chases her down. Despite all of his efforts, she doesn’t fall for any of it. Ruby wants to protect her heart and she knows Caplin is a player but slowly her walls are coming down and Caplin finds ways to get through to her. Although she seems to finally let her guard down, will it be enough?… And will in the end Caplin finally be able to leave his one-night’s behind…. for love?…
I have been waiting for Cap’s book and it does not disappoint! The banter between Cap and Ruby is so hilarious you may want to rethink reading this in a public setting. I loved the storyline and the supporting characters. Cap is definitely is worth the wait and will make you laugh and swoon. A must read in this series!
Cap and Ruby’s story is amazing! This book pulls you right in from the beginning and will make you swoon and laugh so much. This is a must read if you love a romantic comedy.
I read an advanced copy for an honest review.
Cap Hawkins. A guy whose ego is is so big, it’s amazing his head fits into any room. He loves the ladies (literally) and then leaves them. He’s a PLAYER and he knows it. He’s a lawyer who get’s the job done and is a self made billionaire.
Ruby Redstone is a law student who has had one too many bad break up. She doesn’t trust any man and is too busy to have any fun.
When these two meet in one of the most hilariosly and awkward meetings, Cap is intrigued and sets about to find and pursue her. Ruby is not interested. Cap can’t understand!
With the help of all of our favorite previous men (Billionaires) The Billionaire Book Club is formed to help Cap get the girl. It was a riot to see Thatch brought to tears of emotion!
This book will have you laughing until you cry, snorting with laughter and be amazed that someone like Cap, actually has a heart and will become a beloved character after all!
Hands Down the BEST rom-com of 2019! I have never laughed-out-loud more while reading. The writing was witty and filled with sarcastic banter! I enjoyed very minute of this funny and swoony story!
Calin Hawkins is NEVER going to be a one woman man. He likes variety too much. He’s a corporate lawyer at the top of his game and he loves a challenge. Once he meets Ruby, he has to have her.
Ruby is driven. She’s in law school and works two jobs! She’s always in a rush that she forgets to live and have fun.
Since Cap has decided Ruby is what he wants, now he’s got a plan to get her right where he needs her. He offers her an internship at his office. The perfect way to get her close and break down her walls.
This story was an absolute favorite. Cap is sexy and draws you in. He’s intelligent and totally hilarious. The side characters had me laughing throughout the entire story as well. I just loved every one of them!
And that ending…just EPICALLY SWOON WORTHY!
This is a TO NOT BE MISSED Read! These ladies just keep getting better and better. Their writing was fantastic and they had me completely invested from the very first page.
The billionaire book club title: Jackpots
Yes I think we all have been waiting on Cap’s story and it was everything I though it would be. This book got me from the beginning. Talk about laugh out loud funny. I was up at 2:00 am cackling. Max and Monroe are queens at storytelling for romantic comedies. Good gracious the scene where Cap and Ruby first met in the law library was comic gold. I laughed so hard. Speaking of Ruby. She is fan freakingtastic. She knew exactly how to put Caplin, the lovable jackass in his place. She definitely knows how to reduce his ego. The characters in this book are hilarious. The text messages between Cap and Liz were priceless. By the way I’m loving Liz. She knows how to cut Cap off at the knees too. The only thing that I didn’t like about the book was that Ruby never figured out that Cap was recreating scenarios from the books that she was reading or narrated until she found the books in his bag. I thought that was ridiculous because she was familiar with the books so there was no reason for her not to know what he was doing. For me that was the only blemish on the story. Sigh that was the perfect ending. Caplin Hawkins, that’s why he’s a lovable jackass. Even a player can’t put run love. I have read many books by these lovely ladies and I have enjoyed every one of them. I’m already looking forward to the next release. Until next time y’all happy reading.
I LOVE this book! Every time, every darn time I think the last book of Max Monroe is the best they prove, once again, I am wrong. Yes, I stopped reading to write this down so I don’t forget my thoughts. The text messages are off the charts, funny, smart, insightful and pure genius. Can I also just acknowledge ,Thatcher, OMG, he just makes me smile EVERY darn time.
Earlier I posted on Social Media that I highlighted 2 full pages. I never do that. So stay tuned I’m only at 43% into this hilarious book.
Ok I’m finished reading and this book is as good at the end as it was in the beginning. It never let up for a moment. This book had me laughing out loud. I was so happy I was in my home if I was outside and reading this book people would’ve thought there was something seriously wrong with me. That being said with all the hilarity there was a really good story to be told.
Caplin is “The” Ultimate fantastically good looking player and high powered lawyer. He’s never met a challenge he couldn’t successfully tackle, until now! Enter Ruby.
Ruby is driven, smart, can’t be easily fooled and has more jobs than she can handle but she does. Men don’t figure high on her priorities, maybe someday she’ll meet the man of her dreams but it won’t be today. She won’t be sidetracked….hopefully.
Yes, Caplin is charming, funny, egotistical and thinks his friends are whipped. He also has his mission to complete and makes a plan. Ruby has her own set of rules. Watching this story come to life ( cause yes, I could visualize it in my mind) was fantastic. We got to see all of the characters we know and love. It is a standalone but seriously if you haven’t read the entire series you’re missing out on so many laughs and joy. All the original Billionaires are back as well as all the ones from this series. Kline and Wes make my heart melt but Thatcher is still Thatcher only funnier and wiser. There’s a line in the story that goes likes this, “Thatcher walks in with a tray full of mini hotdogs, warm pretzel, and assorted charcuterie. It’s like Martha Stewart in a giant man’s body”. I laughed so hard at this because I could literally picture this giant of man with his sentimental romantic side doing this for his friends.
Ruby’s parents are not to be outdone in the comical department. Her mother is the overprotective, loving mom but her dad is outrageously honest and will have you laughing so hard you might need some protection if you get my drift!
Seriously, if you need to laugh, swoon and just feel good this is the book you want to read. I felt so good from the beginning to the end of this book. It was like therapy. You may even tear up a bit. It still holds true,”The bigger they are, the harder they fall”. Sometimes the best laid plans don’t always go as planned. Sometimes it’s even better! My suggestion do yourself a favor and read this book you deserve to feel as good as I did!
Oh this was awesome! Hysterical and sexy and romantic. I loved this book. Caplin Hawkins is awesome! I love him. He’ll never too Thatch but he’s a close second in my book. This book was so much fun. I couldn’t get enough.
The Billionaire Book Club was a great addition to the series. I loved it! It was hilarious and such a great read. I loved loved Cap and Ruby. Their chemistry and connection was everything. I loved them together. The banter during the guys book club was great and so funny. Thatch is still as crazy as ever! Definitely recommend this!
Another funny AF novel from Max Monroe! These books always take me way longer to read, because I usually have to read paragraphs over again because they are just that funny. I am now officially torn at which one of these bad boy billionaires is my fav. I know Caps story would be good, because in every other book I have totally loved him. Well ladies it is finally his turn to fall, and Ruby is holy soooo perfect for him. She is just as quick witted and funny as he is. These two will have you laughing your a$$ off throughout the entire book.
4.5 Stars
Hold your horses. Hold the phone. Hold your wig. Just hold onto anything because you’ll need the support as you’ll be laughing your a** off. Max Monroe has done it again people, just when you think it can’t possibly get better it’s no surprise they knock your socks right off.
I’ve been dyiiiiiiiiiiing for Cap’s book since he first appeared in the series. Max Monroe gave just enough of Cap in the other books to cleanse my palate which only made me thirsty for more. And damn, this billionaire playboy had me falling more and more for him.
Ruby had me right from the get-go. I knew instantly she was going to be the perfect woman for Cap. She was able to bring out his vulnerable side. And ultimately showed Cap there’s more to life than work.
Cap charmed the pants off of me. Yes, he has his moments but it didn’t take away the fact that he still had me swooning nonstop. There were also countless times I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. I just fluffing loved him and couldn’t get enough.
Ruby and Cap were perfect for each other. The chemistry between these too is so intense and sizzling hot. I can’t even remember how many times they had me fanning myself, seriously, so hot.
The Billionaire Book Club was a hilariously laugh out loud read with so many feels. A fun and entertaining romantic comedy that had me wanting more. I also really enjoyed the appearance of some familiar faces. It’s always good to check up on what some of my faves are up to. Surprise surprise, but not really, the dynamic duo, Max Monroe fluffing did it again.
Max Monroe is still the reigning champs of Rom-Coms. In true Max Monroe fashion, The Billionaire Book Club was hilarious. Like belly clutching laughing so hard, kind of hilarious. This duo of authors took the banter to another level. They took the dialogue to another level. Throw in the wittiness that is beyond clever, and it was a wrap. I’m a sucker for life. I am a fan favorite of their choice of references used throughout The Billionaire Book Club, and when they are showcased, it made me fall even more in love with Cap and Ruby’s story. It goes without saying their story developed nicely. Cap and Ruby’s chemistry was felt to the tips of my toes. Overall, The Billionaire Book Club is a winner!
Cap is America’s best Corporate Lawyer. His reputation proceeds him, in the court room and out of the court room. He’s a playboy through and through and never intends to be tied down.
Ruby is on the go constantly. Her day to day life does not leave her with a minute to spare. She is a ball buster that doesn’t have time for games.
Caplin Hawkins has his eyes set on Ruby, and he’s willing to break all the rules to make ‘them’ happen. Can Cap convince Ruby to give them a shot?
* I recommend this book!
5 star review The Billionaire Book Club by Max Monroe
What a cracking way to start to my last day at work before my holidays. From the first chapter, I knew that this book was going to be great and I wasn’t wrong.
Max Monroe have done it again. I have been intrigued by Cap since he first appeared in the series and this book has just cemented my love for him. Ruby Rockford had me in stitches from the introduction, I knew she was going to be the perfect woman to bring Cap to his knees and I was right.
I loved how Cap’s entire perspective on life was influenced by Ruby as he fell for her, she really brought out his more caring and vulnerable side showing his that there is more to life than work, work and more work.
The chemistry between Cap and Ruby is intense and so smoking hot I almost needed a fan.
The appearance of some familiar faces is always greeted with a smile and when the men get together to discuss ideas on how Cap can woo Ruby, then you know that there are going to be some awkward and uproariously funny shenanigans going on.
This was a laugh out loud, hilarious read that had me receiving many funny looks as I was reading on the train to work. It was non stop fun and all I can say is please write more stories with these amazing characters. Another fabulous book Max Monroe, you two nail the RomCom genre and set a very high bar for others.
Overall Rating:
To Mr. Caplin Hawkins, Esquire:
Well, you did it. You did the thing that I didn’t want. I fell in love with you. Darn those authors Max Monroe. See, I thought I saw you in Turner and Milo’s books. You know, the cock-sure, jacka$$, overworked playboy. I wanted to read The Billionaire Book Club and continue to dislike you (well, not really dislike, maybe it’s “be reticent about you”) as a hero in a book. But those genius authors Max Monroe did it. They did the one thing I told myself not to do: do NOT fall in love with Caplin Hawkins. It will only lead to undying devotion. But you did it…and here’s why:
*You are too smart for your own good. Like really, really smart. I think you surpass Kline Brooks’s- level of intelligence at times. And that’s sexy. For a reader especially. We love a hero who has a brain that rivals his big….hot dog. You illustrate this in your ability to juggle that crazy life of yours.
Your work ethic. Dang, a trust fund baby? And you wanted to earn your own way in life. Respect, man. Respect. Oh, and it’s a turn on for a man to forgo his family’s money to work hard for his own wealth. An incredible turn-on.
*You are unapologetically you. It doesn’t matter if you’re receiving phone calls about women’s va-jay-jays or faxes of women’s perky mounds, you take it in stride and own that “stuff.” It’s charming too. I want to hate you for that, but you make no apologies for it, and it makes your book (I questioned why they gave you a book initially…I get it now) a hilarious ride of epic inappropriate gestures. These moments you created with your “man-whorish” ways brought the funny to this book; the “bent-over-grabbing-your-gut-laughing-aloud” kinda funny. Max Monroe wasn’t lying; if you don’t want people to look at you funny in public, don’t read this book there. It’s not NSFPC (not safe for public consumption).
*And let’s talk about your choice of friends. It is those mother-fluffers who gave your book its color. I think anyone who reads your book, Cap, will want to join the book club. Unfortunately, since most of us aren’t billionaires, we recognize our entry into it…is problematic. However, if we all had the opportunity to talk about women (men) and romance and romancing women (men), then I think our lives would be better for it, as was so quickly apparent about you. Thank goodness for their wisdom and patience to wait you out for your time of realization. Even more, how amazing that they rescued you from yourself when you needed it. You can’t help but start to like a guy who has friends like yours. And you should really hold on to Thatch, even though he’s a bit of a PITA at times. That man’s tears were “life” in your book.
*I didn’t think you could be reformed. At. all. After the first part of your book where you were non-plussed to poor Liz’s superhuman skills as your assistant, and Vin’s willingness to accept your ability to ignore him. I believed you to be immutable. Until you weren’t. That first kiss with Ruby, the care put into that simple action, was heart-poundingly profound. I felt it from the top of my head to my toes, and I think you did too. Even more, it’s that moment in the book when I think you finally began to realize that you needed her beyond the workplace, that she relieved an ache in your soul. On that dance floor is the first time, I saw some real Cap. From there, your moments of tenderness began to draw me in. The way you looked at her; the care you took in using those books to “woo” her showed me that you might be redeemed. Then, you messed up, and I questioned my sanity in liking you. But there was something different about you after that moment, something I liked. Even though I wanted to throw my phone and its Kindle app across the room against the wall, your brokenness engaged me and kept me in your story. And you didn’t disappoint. In the least. The resolution of this story is the moment when I finally dropped my walls and allowed myself to love you deeply, even more than your friends, Milo and Trent, which comes as a surprise because I loved their stories a whole lot. But your change, your tears, your heart on full display for everyone to see made me change my mind about you. There is only one other thing about your story, however, that makes it perfect.
*Her name is Ruby. Why I went from begrudgingly reading your story to embracing you is your woman. You are one smart man to figure out that she is much better than the “average bear,” woman. Well, she’s amazing. I love that she keeps you on your toes, that she challenges you because you need a woman who loves you but isn’t always “in like” with you. She brings normality to your life in her ability to push back against your narcissism and crazy. I think my favorite moment in her portion of the story (I actually cried a little at this moment) occurs when her mother finally recognizes the strength of her daughter (and can we talk about her parents? Funny. Mark Rockford needs his own Netflix comedy show). Ruby is the type of woman we all want to be, and your recognition of it made me love you more.
So, Caplin Hawkins, kudos to you for winning me over. I know Max Monroe should be given the credit for making me fall in love with a playboy, but then again, I think they write to the cadence of my brain. It’s so eerie to read their books like they’re psychic. Now don’t get a big head when I tell you that I picked up your book the minute it hit my Kindle (forgoing several other books which will remain nameless), and I didn’t put it down until I finished it. There was just something about your story that fed my soul. I don’t know. Maybe it’s ultimately because this book is so inception in that it has books in a book or maybe it’s that I loved your growth into a more decent human being (you still have some growth to do) or maybe it’s that you loving Ruby was the best part of my day or maybe I love that you call her “doll” and I don’t find it sexist. But I think the real reason I broke down my walls to fall in love with you and your story, The Billionaire Book Club, revolves around one simple reason: you are quite simply “the good kind of crazy.”
In love and romance,
Professor A
