#3 What is your biggest takeaway from the story?
Ruby Rockford and I are meant to be.
I just have to prove it to her.
For the entirety of my adult life, I’ve been content.
Content in my single lifestyle, content in my stressful-but-extremely-successful job as the main corporate counsel for almost every Fortune 500 company in North America, and content in my playful, spontaneous ways.
I had no idea it was possible for someone to change my mind.
The endless women and work are no longer enough, and just as Ruby Rockford told me–it’s about time I grow up.
It’s going to take a strategic attack from more than a couple brilliant minds to win her affection, but luckily, I know exactly where to find the right guys for the job…
The Billionaire Book Club.
It’s safe to say that I, Caplin Hawkins, the man most women would call The Ultimate Player, have finally met my match, and man oh man, has my end game changed.
I’m coming for you, Ruby.
And soon, you’ll be coming for me, too.

This book had me rolling on the floor laughing. I had to put this book down several times to just laugh it out. I’ve loved Caplin’s appearances through books 1 & 2 and I’m so glad he got his own book. Ruby was amazing, she holds her own against Cap and I could see so much of myself in her. I think when you can relate to a character the way I related to her, you just fall in love with her, the book and everything about it. Great writing, and I can’t wait for more of Max Monroe’s work!
This was just my 2nd Max Monroe book and I am looking forward to reading more. These ladies make me laugh out loud. Loved getting Cap and Ruby’s story. If you are in need of a great Rom Com then this series is a must read.
I have been so impatiently waiting for this book since I “met” Cap! This man is the peanut butter to Thatch’s jelly! Those two together in a book and I just know I am going to love it.
I love a book where a man like Cap (aka manwhore) finds a girl who might be the one girl who can make him change his ways…LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Oh, Cap – you can see what Ruby was up against…
“I love women. Love talking with them, working with them, listening to them…and goddamn, do I love fucking them. Bent over, leg lifted, missionary, cowgirl, wheelbarrow, doggy style, spooning…”
Ruby, oh this woman is the best! She’s a strong, hard-working law student. She’s worked hard for a long time to get to where she is and she’s too smart to fall for a man like Cap. I love that she’s immune to his ways but watching Cap try to weasel his way into Ruby’s pants (well heart too), he finds that she just might be the one girl to change him.
The Billionaire Book Club has all the boys – Kline, Wes, Thatch, Trent, Quince, Milo, all the boys we have come to love and when you get them all together, talking about romance novels, you sure to laugh your ass off!!
“I love Ruby Reckford in a way I didn’t think was possible. Not for anyone, but especially for me.”
The Billionaire Book Club by Max Monroe is a new standalone, hilarious romantic comedy. Everyone was anticipating Caplin Hawkins’s story. I was really curious about the mysterious girl, beave enough to tame the hottest playboy in the city.
Caplin and Ruby’s story is a light and easy read. Did I mention funny? Their first meeting was the funniest scene I have ever read. For the first time, I was happy I read at home. Caplin, the successful lawyer set his eyes on new prey, witty and smart law student/audiobooks narrator, Ruby. Cap, being a very confident man did not suspect Ruby will not fall to her knees in front of him. I loved her spirit, resistance, and very hard-working personality. Cap for the first time had to work to get Ruby’s attention, especially toward his bed. And there is nothing better than the help of his best billionaire best friends.
Will Caplin wear Ruby down? Will Ruby make Cap work hard for her attention?
Max Monroe in a great and funny way helped Ruby to tame Caplin. I really enjoyed reading every (almost) encounter between Cap and Ruby. And attention of all billionaires in one room was cherry on the top for me. Although Cap did not steal my heart completely. I did not like his motivations toward Ruby. She was open, sweet and completely honest with him. Even though Cap, after realizing his mistake, in a swooning and very creative way showed his love toward Ruby I think he should do better.
I can’t wait for more Caplin and his gang! Lena, I am ready for you!
It was really hard to like Cap. Portrayed as a player, manwhore, billionaire… Ruby was great but a bit naive. Overall good story. Steamy sex scenes! Happy ending.

Romance Rehab: Book recs, author services, general badassery: http://www.romancerehab.com/
It’s been a while since I hated a hero as much as I hated the hero in this book. He really outdid himself, though.
Plot overview: Douchebag manwhore Caplin stalks young, beautiful Libby. And instead of having him arrested, she falls for him. Because sure. Why not?
This makes me sad because I actually really like the author’s writing style. It’s fun and light and she has a way with witty banter. With a different hero, this one might’ve been a keeper for me. But sadly, because the book hinged on the odious Caplin, I couldn’t bring myself to finish.
Oh, Caplin. How I hate thee. Let me count the ways:
1. Self-proclaimed “playboys” who take pride in bedding different women all the time and actively avoiding anything resembling human emotion make me want to vomit.
2. Anyone who takes what he calls “pussy calls” (a “clever” revision of a “booty call”. And by “clever” I mean gag-worthy, of course) after he’s met the heroine is gross.
3. After he meets the heroine and fails to get her name and number, he stalks her. And I don’t mean he attempts to arrange a meet-cute by waiting around the last place he saw her and hoping to run into her. I mean he actively digs into her life and invades her privacy. There’s nothing adorable or charming about stalkers, I’m afraid.
4. When he finds her (after stalking her, of course), he makes a lewd sexual joke. When she rebuffs him, he offers her a job. Because, sure, who WOULDN’T want to work for a guy who stalked you and propositions you in the grossest way possible?
5. When he’s propositioning the heroine, he’s approached by one of his past fuck buddies, who is portrayed as nothing more than a vapid bed-warmer. To make it clear to the reader that the heroine “isn’t like other women because she’s so special?” Gag.
I actually really liked Ruby…right up until the point that she found herself laughing at Caplin’s lewd jokes instead of running in the opposite direction from the dude who openly stalked her and seemed super proud of it (he called himself an “opportunity maker.” I call him a restraining order waiting to happen.) All I could do at that point was side-eye her on behalf of every woman who has ever been stalked and harassed. Because we all know that if Caplin had been ugly and poor, this would’ve been an episode of Criminal Minds as opposed to a “hilarious rom com.”
So, long-story-short, I wanted to nut-punch the hero. I find that when I want to nut-punch the hero in a romance, that’s a problem that can’t be overcome by simply maning through and reading the rest of the book. So I DNFd like my life depended on it. And I haven’t looked back since.
Cap is a playboy who finally has to fight for a girl when he meets Ruby. Ruby knows he is trouble and tries to avoid him, but he is certainly persistent and plays a little dirty to get to her. Ultimately, watching Cap fall in love while he thinks he is just making another conquest is something else. He really was clueless. When he screws it up, his rock bottom is a sight to behold and the author describes it in detail. With the help of his billionaire friends (Such a treat to catch up with those guys!) he is able to get back on his feet and make an effort at being a better guy.
This book has everything you expect from Max Monroe; sizzle, laugh out loud humor, over the top conversations, and good friends. I wasn’t sure I could like Cap, but I really did. He just didn’t know what he didn’t know. Ruby is awesome: a strong female character who carefully weighs her pros and cons then jumps in. I loved her.
An excellent addition to the series, I highly recommend for a good laugh.
I’ve been waiting to read about Caplin and the one woman who could bring him to his knees. And this book really hit all the marks. It’s funny, charming, sweet, heartwarming, and sometimes ridiculous.
Caplin was one of the top corporate lawyers in the country, a self-made billionaire. He’s intelligent, driven, from a wealthy family, and not to mention super hot and sexy. He knew his strengths and used them to charm every woman he had encountered, and they just voluntarily thew themselves at him. He was afraid of commitment and never thought he would be a one-woman man, until he met Ruby, in a hilarious and awkward circumstance.
Ruby was a law student, with a side job to narrate romance novels. She was smart, motivated, hard-working, and career-oriented. I absolutely adore Ruby! She reminded me of myself during my undergraduate and graduate schools, working many jobs and pulling all nighters to get through those years. I was able to relate to her so much, to understand her struggles and her resistance to the charming Caplin to remain focused. But those were the characteristics that stood her out from all the women Caplin had met in his life, and she was just exactly what he needed…
At some point, I hated Caplin for being such a jerk to Ruby and didn’t think he truly deserved Ruby. But once he fell, he fell hard, redeemed himself with the help and support from his Billionaire Book Club buddies, and earned forgiveness from his lady love. It was so much fun to meet those guys again in such a hilariously ridiculous setup, while they played a significant role in Caplin’s love journey.
A 5-star fun, light, enjoyable rom-com. If you’re looking for a read to lighten your mood, this is the exact one you’d need.
Caplin Hawkins has no desire for a relationship he only wants a woman for a good time he doesn’t want to be locked into a long term thing. When his assistant takes maturity leave he has to do more of the grunt work. He works alone and he’s the best of the best in contract law. He runs into a sexy worker at the library but he never thought Ruby was going to take more than his library card.
Cap loves life he has fun he works hard and plays hard. He loves being the center of attention he gives Thatch a run for his money.
Ruby wants to graduate law school her over protective mother is worried constantly about her safety. Attending NYU law school is more expensive than she anticipated so she found a way to fuel her passion and get paid.
Cap decided he can’t let her go he needs to spend time with her and sleep with her of course. He devises this insane plain to get Ruby. With the help of all the Billionaires Cap and the boys start a book club. Not just any book club these bad boys are reading romance.
Ruby is a fierce woman who knows what she wants and works hard to get it and Caplin Hawkins will not take it away from her. She can bend but she won’t break. I loved this book it was funny I laughed so many times Max Monroe killed it with this book. I loved everything about the story and Thatch was one of the best characters in this book again. I mean we all love Thatch. I can’t wait for the next book in this series because we get to see another Hawkins find love . That’s right it’s Caps sisters turn!! 5 fantastic stars
4.5 stars – fun, sexy and feel-good!
“That pretty little librarian doesn’t know it yet, but she’s the new chase. My new mission.”
Caplin Hawkins’ first encounter with Ruby Rockford is hilarious! He’s massively taken with her, but she’s glad that she never has to see his handsome face again. Or…so she thinks! However, Cap has set his sights on her, especially when she proves to be a real challenge to bag. He even goes so far as to start up a book club with his billionaire friends to unlock the key to winning Ruby. LOL
“He has heartbreak written on his forehead, his chin, his veiny forearms, and both sides of his chiseled chest.”
Ruby has a lot on her plate between law school and her little secret job. The last thing she needs is to deal with a known player. However, when he makes her an offer that could give her a big leg-up in her career, she throws caution to the wind. What ensues is a fun, sexy chase during which they both get to know one another and realise there’s more at stake than one simple night.
“You’re everything I never knew I wanted and beyond.”
This was such a funny read. Cap is such an exuberant, larger-than-life character who knows what he wants. I absolutely enjoyed following the progression in their relationship. I loved how Ruby’s presence in Cap’s life changed him and made him see how life as a happy, settled man was worth so much more than the one he had been living. Ruby is totally cute but also so sassy and competent. I loved her manner and how she dealt with people. The ending was kinda corny but gorgeous and all about the big gesture, but I expected nothing less from Cap! A fab, feel-good read with lots of great banter.
Loved it!

Every book reader has that one book where they wish so hard that they could jump into the pages and live the life that was written. Max Monroe never fails to make me want to do that very thing. They perfected the formula of a fun and romantic story that you want to be part of, with characters who you can’t forget. And this story is yet another story I wanna live in.
Caplin and Ruby. These two characters were full of excitement and intrigue. They were fun and funny and I couldn’t help but get sucked into their vortex. Together they were dynamic but equally as strong on their own. However, when they were together… fireworks burst from the pages. Read it and tell me I’m wrong!! I dare you!
I love the world created by Max Monroe and having old favorites make their appearances. There’s never a shortage of laughter. So far, this is my favorite of the newer Billionaire series – I connected with the characters more with this book. With that being said, I have yet to dislike a book by this amazing duo of authors.

I highly recommend this story and look forward to everything coming our way from Max Monroe.

It’s a must to mention Card Games Ans Book clubs that will have you ripped. I promise Thatchy Boy at his Finest…
Grab this book ladies. Its perfect light and funny weekend read.
Enjoy!!!!
Caplan really was New York’s biggest playboy! His trawling of romance novels to help create a perfect environment to seduce Ruby was quite entertaining. Loved the HEA.
This is my first Max Monroe book and definitely not my last!! Cap and Ruby were so much fun to read and it was definitely hard to put down. Cap was cocky, sexy and definitely a handful but Ruby handled him with ease but what would you expect from the gorgeous, sassy, tell-it-like-it-is woman who turned his head. Definitely a romcom I could read over and over again…. time to grab the rest of the books because I need the other couples stories now!
This book was funny on all the levels of humor. I laughed so hard in just the first couple of chapters I knew this book was going to be good.
Player of his group of fellow billionaires, Caplin is all about getting his needs satisfied and then moving on that when deeper feelings start to arise in him for a girl who can’t leave his mind, it scares him.
I loved the way Cap and Ruby came about to meet, because, come on, it is the most hilarious thing in the world. I thought it was both funny and romantic at the way he turns poker night into a book club. His friends are just super hilarious.
The only thing I did not really care for in this book was how way too skeptical Ruby was about Cap even though she knew she was starting to like him. And then the moment of Caps “come to Jesus” moment when he realizes what he has done, the state the authors illustrate him is a little too overboard for me.
But overall this was a great hilarious read that you won’t be disappointed in reading.
I could not wait to get my hands on this book!! I couldn’t wait to read Caplin’s book. I knew I was going to love the girl he was going to fall in love with. And I so did!! I honestly would have made him work for it a lot more.
Amazing characters. Amazingly written. This one has to be by far the funniest Max Monroe book yet!! I burst out laughing way too many times in public for my liking but hey. All is good.
I love how every hot guy is in every book too just to show you that you’ve missed them since they’ve had their book.
Ruby a law student grabs the attention of Caplin Hawkins is the most embarrassing way possible. He of course was very intrigued by this and decided that he was going to pursue this lovely blond woman. Unfortunately for him and lucky for her he catches feels and doesn’t know what to do with the feels you know being a player for all his life. Max Monroe
What happens when a billionaire playboy lawyer meets a girl who is impervious to his charms? One who he learns is a law student moonlighting as an audiobook narrator? When he has finally met his match? Well, he tries to win her over of course!
Cap meets Ruby as he’s forced to run his own errands and pull files from the law library when his regular assistant is on maternity leave. There, he encounters Ruby, a smart, quick witted law student who is filling in for her friend at the law library desk. Cap returns to try and find her, only to discover that she’s not a regular employee. He uses his resources to track her down, shows up as a guest-lecturer in her program, and tries to hire her as his assistant. Thinking this is the perfect way to win her over, he offers her a job – which she takes. Once he realizes that she’s not going to fall at his feet, he devises a way to win her over by convincing his billionaire friends at poker night to help. Thatch has a perfect solution – and convinces him to reenact scenes from romance novels…hence, the Billionaire Book Club.
As usual, his plan works right until the point where he freaks out and almost loses her. The story of Cap and Ruby is one that is filled with the typical Max Monroe hilarity and swoon-worthy scenes, including the creative way Cap wins back his girl.
I was so waiting for Cap ‘s story and it was everything I expected and more. Ruby is the perfect match for Cap. I laughed and was so immersed in the story I kind of forgot some chores, but it was so worth it. All the swoony and sweet scenes was perfect read for me after some really angsty ones. I love it so much.
I just knew Cap’s story was going to be enjoyable. He has always been such a character and as the most reluctant to settle down he was destined for a hard fall.
Ruby was everything he needed in a soulmate. Smart, feisty and strong. She was driven to make her way in life. And Caplin was such a dunce… thankfully it wasn’t too late before he realized it. And O. M. G. Did his 2nd attempt get to me. I tested up, I laughed, I giggled… and that was just a couple of pages. I’m not even counting all the feels I got from before and after that one scene.
I totally enjoyed this book and have been delighted with every release in the Billionaire Collection series. Max Monroe have a true knack for bringing billionaires to life and making me fall in love with them and their ladies.
