I am super impressed with The Billionaire Benefactor by Emma St. Clair. The more I read St. Clair’s novels the more I’m convinced she is one of the BEST storytellers we have today. What impressed me the most about The Billionaire Benefactor is how much substance there is within the pages of this story. This is not your average Hallmark-y, fluffy Romance. There is romantic tension, don’t get me wrong. It is great, but it’s not the crux of the story. There is a man, Roman, hurting after the loss of his beloved father. Roman is the kind of guy who would give a person the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He is a genuinely good guy, but he often sticks his foot in his mouth and causes hurt feelings. He doesn’t mean to, he just speaks before he thinks. The heroine is a single mother, Jenny, dealing with the loss of her husband doing the best she can to navigate the painful situation for her children. Jenny is a bit prideful. She doesn’t like handouts and pity. She needs help, admits it to herself even, but has a super difficult time accepting “charity” from others. Why does she feel this way? Because she doesn’t want others to think poorly of her, to think she is a failure. So she hides her truth. All this gets her is a lot of overwhelming work and loneliness. I really love how Roman, and his good friends, work to break down Jenny’s walls and get her to expand her world a little. I also really love how Roman takes to Jenny’s children and becomes a good male role model in their lives. And, I really appreciate the inspirational themes throughout the story. All in all, The Billionaire Benefactor is a great story I highly recommend. If you are in the mood for a highly engaging Contemporary Romance with substance, then definitely check out this story!
I purchased a copy of this novel in eBook form from Amazon.com on January 2, 2021, in order to read for fun and review. The opinions in this review are my own.
Jenny is a great character, strong and focused on doing what is best for her kids. Her expectation for having another man to love in her life is nonexistent. Good thing Roman is a football player because she gave him a run. I like Roman, he is not prepared for a widow with 2 kids but he also can’t give up on the instant connection that they share. This is emotional including tears of mirth and joy. The ending opens the floodgates of happiness.
This is one of my favorite books of Emma St. Claire’s. There were some great plot twists that took the story in directions I didn’t see coming. I loved the characters and the chemistry they had between them. I felt Jenny’s longing and her pain from her previous marriage. Definitely check this one out!
Loved both the main characters and the supporting ones.
The actions and reactions all seemed realistic. The kids were well written.
The story was original–kinda hard to do with the recent plethora of billionaire romances!
Loved It
This was a really great love story. Jenny was separated from her husband when he died, but no one knew that. She was struggling trying to take care of her kids. Roman came from a very prominent family and was a football player. They met because a friend told him she needed help. He shows up at her house with a big check and she shut the door in His face. He tried a different tactic the next day which went a little better because of his friends. There was a lot of push and pull in their relationship.
Great weekend read.
The Billionaire Benefactor is a modern day fairy tale with a HEA. It is a good book with a good mix of characters but Roman really needs to grow up and tell his mother to back off! This is a quick, sweet, easy read.
This was a great read. I highly recommend it.
The Billionaire Benefactor is a well-written clean romance. It’s one of the best of the billionaire romances that I’ve read. The main characters, Roman and Jenny, are likable, but not perfect. There’s a horse of a dog that adds humor to the story. Jenny’s children not only add a layer of depth to the other characters, but also add to the story itself. There are twists and turns to the plot, definitely one that I didn’t see coming. There’s a great HEA. I plan to read more of Emma St. Clair’s work. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
A clean enjoyable romance that is well developed and the story moved smoothly with clumsy interactions, romance, lots of emotions, humor and a great twist. This sweet romance kept me turning the pages to find out what happened next. Jenny a single widowed mom with two kids meets Roman a pro football player. An entertaining wonderful must read. I voluntarily reviewed this standalone ARC.
Clean Christian Sports Billionaire Romance
This romance novel has so many positive descriptors; clean, Christian, sports hero, billionaire. This is a nice story about a football hero and a poor widow. It is not as cliché as it sounds. This author has a talent for taking a cliché story and turning it into a story the reader can’t put down. This story has many twists and turns before it gets to the expected outcome. Followers of this author will not be disappointed with this story. It is warm, clean and faith-filled. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest opinion.
The Billionaire Benefactor, written by Emma St. Clair, is the third book in The Billionaire Surprise Series. I really enjoyed reading this book. You know that a book is going to be good when you laugh after reading the first couple of pages. The book is 225 pages of fun. The author did a fantastic job telling the story. The characters are kind of quirky and likeable. The Billionaire, Roman, can’t seem to keep his foot out of his mouth. He tries real hard, but just can’t keep from offending people, especially Jenny [the one person he is trying to help] Ms. St. Clair is one of my favorite authors and this book is one of her best. Looking forward to the next one.
