Reese Crane, CEO of Crane Hotels, appears just as cold as the interior of his hotels. With the retirement of his father, Reese finally sees his future ahead of him…all he ever wanted and worked his entire life towards. Merina Van Heusen has grown up living and working in her parents’ quirky and bohemian style hotel. The Van Heusen is known for its ambiance, and no one is more shocked than Merina to find out that her parents have sold her beloved hotel to Reese Crane. In a fit of rage, Merina marches over to his lofty office and demands he give her back the Van Heusen…no matter his price.
Reese and Merina make a marriage bargain to both gain what they believe is most important to them. But somewhere along the way, they find material things mean nothing…and love is found in the most unlikely of circumstances.
The Billionaire Bachelor is the first book I’ve read by Jessica Lemmon, and it won’t be the last! While not my favorite troupe, I found she made the usually arrogant billionaire/CEO likeable from the beginning. The chemistry between Reese and Merina was smokin’ hawt, and I especially enjoyed how Merina wasn’t afraid to fight for what she wanted. Highly recommend this story to both fans of this genre as well as second chance romances!
I love this book it is a awesome book
We all know the basic premise. Playboy cons, oops- convinces very strongly, nice girl to do as he wishes for her dreams. No, not quite- ok.
Playboy billionaire tries to look respectable by using his enemy to hold off his board of directors…Yup, that’s better.
Problem in said plan is his betrothed. Marina is gorgeous, sophisticated and used to playing with the big boys. She may not be in the same circles but she’s darn close. She knows what’s at stake and that’s what matters most to Reese. While that’s all great, he made a major miscalculation. He forgot that Medina isn’t a robot.
She has feelings. She has needs. And he really would like to help with the needs but ignore the feeling. Until he realizes, he can’t.
But it’s too late. Too late for everyone…
Yes, I’m a sappy romance lover. You are too or you wouldn’t be reading this. I will proudly admit that I cried. I just can’t help feeling for the bumbling idiot who has to get reacquainted with his feelings and the damage he causes while he figures it out.
Every time that I pick up a book by a new (to me) author and I really enjoy it, I just want to kick myself because of all the time I’ve wasted not knowing about them previously. All this time, I could have been reading books by Jessica Lemmon but NOOO. At least I’ve found her now. She’s one that I know if I see her name on the cover that I will just absolutely love what’s printed on the pages. A little extreme after just reading one book by her, right? Not really. When you know, you know.
I actually didn’t even have any notes on this one. Usually, I’m found furiously typing notes on my Kindle as I read but not this time. I didn’t want to take the time to write something about what I was reading when I could actually BE reading.
The characters were fabulous. I loved how spunky Merina was. She has a mind of her own and she doesn’t hesitate to let you know what’s going on inside it. That’s not to say that she doesn’t get embarrassed sometimes … she does … but that doesn’t stop her from doing it again! Lemmon did a great job with making Merina seem outspoken and bashful at the same time. I can’t imagine that getting those two attributes to mesh so perfectly was an easy endeavor but she did it. Reese was equally as perfect. He’s this no-holds-barred businessman who has his eye on the prize but his heart has a different prize in mind. Gosh, I loved Reese. The juxtaposition of the hard and soft parts of his personality really made me love him so much more.
Merina and Reese together? (Insert squee) They are definitely one of my favorite couples of the year. The way that they were together just made you sigh and think about how awesome love is. Enough of the mushy stuff … the chemistry between these two was absolutely explosive and it made you excited to see what in the world could happen next.
Well, you guessed it, I enjoyed this one. A lot. I finished it last night and wanted to pick it up and start all over before I was even done with the last sentence. I would have been happy if it had gone another 200 pages or so. I just didn’t want it to end. Guess I have a new author to add to my ‘Favorites’ list!

I have been looking forward to reading this book for some time now, and have been anxiously awaiting for the opportunity to get up close and personal with Mr. Crane and I have to say he was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! Barely a chapter into the story and I felt myself being completely drawn into his world and captivated by his alluring playboy charm, seductive one liners, and domineering personality. Ms. Lemmon completely outdid herself with character development with this one, Reece & Merina were truly a match made in literary heaven, their chemistry burned brightly from start to finish, and their playful and VERY heated banter kept things HOT! HOT! HOT!! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent reading this scorching and very satisfying read, and I look forward to future visits to the Billionaire Bad Boys series!! Definitely one of my favorites from Ms. Lemmon to date!!
