Oh my. I loved this book! The characters were great, the romance was overly sweet maybe a little too sexy, and the plot has twists and humor. It’s definitely an instalove romance so you’ve been warned.
I especially loved that Olive was plus sized. It really gets old reading about heroines who have the perfect body.
Okay, so I thought that by at least the title of the book, this would be humorous. At least a little. *sigh* I guess the joke was on me, because I DNF this when my kindle said 8%. The book was not what I thought it would be. I mean I understand that she is attractive and everything and this was an insta-love read, but d***. This was written so poorly.
It was cringe-worthy the way the main male character was towards her. I was really creeped out. Like he hadn’t even met her and was acting all f****** in love and possessive and like he needed to sleep with her because the way she ate his donuts. He acted like he would go and get her through a glass pane and ravage her over it. I was revolted.
Then when they finally met, she was so happy he wanted to have sex with her over how much she enjoyed the donuts his company made. He gave her a job and it was like voiced that she would have to sleep with him to keep it. She was all for it. I wanted to throw up. I just couldn’t finish reading this trash. Some people actually said they loved this and gave it 5 stars. I think they were smoking something or other.
I just don’t get how this was even published. Must be off their d*** rocker, you guys. Honestly.
This a total fairy tale of a book. A King, a princess and en evil step marketing director.
Donut King is not doing well. Owen is trying to save the business started by his parents, and in walks Olive. She is there to be a part of a focus group. Olive is in a tough spot, unemployed and about to be evicted. But then Owen sees her, and her reaction to his donuts and instantly falls in lust. He calls her back to “talk” to her. He ends up offering her a “job” as his assistant. They fall in love, and it all moves so fast. There is a great story here, with a lot of sex, and then a twist at the end.
It really was a great grown up version of a fairy tale where the handsome King swoops in saves the lady and carries her off to his castle.
Nelle L’Amour is a new to me author and I was very excited to read The Big O!
From the first page, the author had me hooked with this modern day Cinderella love story. Olive, who is about to be evicted, answered an ad from Craiglist hoping to make a quick buck before she ends up homeless.
Owen, The Donut King, is looking for a new marketing strategy because his business is falling apart. He sees Olive and is completely smitten with her and vows right then and there to sweep her off her feet!
The Big O was a very fast paced, fun read. I enjoyed reading about Olive and Owen and their insta-love romance. I loved the fact that Olive, who is a curvy, plus sized woman, finds her alpha male and HEA.
