All my life, I’ve wanted to play with the big boys…All right — get your head out of the gutter! You know exactly what I mean.I, Emi Nakamura, am as ambitious as they come. Someday I’m going to be a top chef, and I’ve got a good start here in Cherry Valley, heading up the first big restaurant in this small town.I’m SO focused on heating up my career that I don’t even have time for the guy who … have time for the guy who just moved in next door to my apartment.
I barely notice how cute and sexy he is with tousled sandy hair and gorgeous green eyes. And I REALLY don’t notice how tall and hot he is with those faded blue jeans that show off his tight…
Never mind.
I’m TOTALLY focused on my budding career.
And I appreciate the friendship I’m developing with supportive, friendly, flirty Sam, who’s just opened Cherry Valley’s first pot shop.
Which, come to think of it, also gives him a bit of a bad rep.
Heck, I’m pretty sure some naughtiness is the very last thing a chef needs when she’s trying to project a sophisticated image.
But tell that to my libido, because every time I hang out with Sam, I see something hungry in his gaze.
Something that’s telling me we should be more than just friends.
Something that a good, shy girl like me desperately wants a taste of…

1 Chef + 1 Pot shop owner = Match made in munchie heaven
So Cady Gilmore has become one of my favorite romantic comedy authors in a very short time. The world she has dreamed up and then put to paper, or in my case to Kindle, with Cherry Valley is so much fun that if I could go there I definitely would. This small town is filled with quirky, lovable, funny, infuriating, generous, and oh so sexy characters. Each has their own individual story but yet each book in the Cherry Valley series is entwined with the others and they all build as we read along.
The Big Bliss is the latest in this series and it tells the story of Emi and Sam. She is a very talented chef who is also very shy. She is so shy that she comes off unsociable and snobbish. Additionally she has no love life to talk about. Sam is a lovable rake who has opened a new pot shop in town. Okay it is really a cannabis dispensary for both medical and recreational marijuana but it just sounds more fun calling it a pot shop. Anyway, he moves in next door to Emi and these two are definitely attracted to each other but slowly become friends first. Eventually circumstances mean that they will have to finally admit their feelings not only to themselves but also each other.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this author!!! She has become my new favorite! This book was no different, she is amazing! Her plot, word and character building are of the charts. She grabs you form beginning to end and made me feel like I was there in Cherry Valley. I loved Sam and Emi their relationship was hot and steamy. Their getting to know one another could be lol funny at times. I found my self laughing while at the doctors office with people looking at me and wondering why. The word twitterpated comes to mind. This has drama, suspense, twists and turns and laughter with love and romance. There were some trying situations but in the end love Conquers all! You need to grab a copy to fond out how they reach their HEA!

This was a great addition to the series. I love Emi and Sam together. I’m glad they got their HEA.
Fight against prejudices and oneself
Excellent romantic story of two characters who seem to be opposed, but who are two fighters in their own way facing a small town that was until now asleep and has trouble accepting change. The story is very well written and takes the characters from the previous volumes (but the story can be read alone)
I really liked its characters: they are two workalcoholics, with opposite behaviors, with a hero Sam who manages rather well the stress of opening a store of marijuana in a small city that grows but some of the inhabitants do not want a shop like his, and a heroine Emi, chef of a sushi restaurant who has already won a good reputation, but it was hard at first, and who is now stressed because she knows that a food critic will come to her establishment. Sam is her neighbor and he offers her to try one of his products which frees Emi who seems weird but who is very shy and too anxious. Between her shyness and her old experiences, as well as Sam’s habit of finishing in the friend zone, the two heroes do everything to stop an attraction they do not want to recognize, not to mention that Sam’s job can only taint the rising glory of Emi.

**Spoilers**
Fantastic, Emi and Sam are so much alike trying to please family, people, employees, everyone but themselves. This scenario of one shop that could break up a community and life long friendships is heartbreaking. Love how Grace of all people advise Emi on her decisions and actions, before she hears Sam’s explanation. Great ending for this CV community and couple to get their HEA.
