What can I say – I love the Hope Valley series but I think Nona and Trick are my favorite couple. No, I dont think I know.
Nona has thought about Trick a lot – especially now that his divorce is final. Their kids are friends so they run into each other at soccer games so seeing Trick cheering his son on just makes him that much hotter in Nona’s eyes. When things take a romantic turn at the wedding of their best friends Nona cant believe that Trick sees her the same way she sees him – that is until he walks out of her house in the middle of the night saying he cant do this. Now Nona is doing everything she can to avoid him – that is until he changes everything.
Trick knows Nona is sexy – he just spent the best night with her, but after a messy divorce he didn’t want he isn’t sure that getting into another relationship is in the cards for him. Then he realizes that Nona just maybe what he needs and he will do whatever it takes to let her know that.
Ms Prince weaves a tale that has it all – great main characters that you root for and I for one felt like I knew them. It has great kids, great secondary characters and even suspense. We get to see both sides of this story through alternating POV’s which I love – it brings the reader into the story even more. We also get to see some old friends from Hope Valley and the set up for future books is definitely there. The Best of Me was so much fun to read I didn’t want the story to end.
If you are new to the Hope Valley and Jessica Prince then I recommend The Best of Me – its a standalone so you can jump right it. Its a great ride and so worth it.
The Best of Me by Jessica Prince is the third inter-connected standalone romance in her Hope Valley series. Told in dual POV this book is part friends to lovers, part second chance and 100 percent awesome. I decided to read books 1 (Out of My League) and 2 (Come Back Home Again) before just diving into book 3 and I am glad I did. I was so invested in the characters by the time I cracked The Best of Me open that it was a no-brainer I was going to love it.
All these books so far have been sexy, funny, emotional and have a whopping great angsty moment towards the climax of the story that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I don’t want you to think it’s formulaic and boring though – god no – these books are hand crafted awesomeness. From the turmoil that Trick deals with in letting his marriage go to the stress baking activities of Nona and her kids quiet observations proving they aren’t just tiny humans, their smart kids aware of their mother’s turmoil.
This binge-read of the Hope Valley series was my first time reading anything by Jessica Prince but it will NOT be my last. Enjoy!
Third time is the charm? Well I don’t know about that as every book in this series has been a jewel so far but I am in love with the Trick and Nona’s story. They are both coming out of difficult relationships and divorce life with kids can always be a bit hairy. They have been “dancing around each other” for some time now and then when the opportunity presents itself for them to be together, guilt and reservations hold them back. Single parents and Second Chance at love with maturity at their disposal. You will love the romance, passion and humor at times thanks to Nona. I am looking forward to the next chapter in the town of Hope Valley.

This series just keeps getting better & better!! LOVE Trick & Nona & their blended family!!
Trick takes a little time to get his head outta his butt, of course. Once he does, tho, he is ALL IN and ALL ALPHA and it’s a great sight to see! I love that they both are very protective of each other & their kids, all 4 of them. They blend their families together in a real and honest way.
I highly enjoy this author’s writing style in this series. The pacing, cadence, characters, story lines – everything meshes perfectly together to keep the pages turning. This has become one of my favorite series, & is a definite re-read! Each book makes me look forward to the next story!! : )
I know that I say this with every single book in this series, but each new book that Jessica Prince gives us in this series is even better than the last! Romance, friendship, intense drama, relationships, and ALL the feels made me cheer for Trick and Nona throughout their story! After a bumpy start, they should know that being together is going to be anything but easy. The twists and turns in this book absolutely made the story and I fell head over heels for Trick and Nona! I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
Ahhhhh I have been dying to know more about Nona since this series started and Jessica did not let us down. I now want to be her friend even more! Plus Nona does some kickass baking whenever she is stressed – seriously, the best kinda friend to have!
Trick and Nona are both divorced parents (divorced from other people, not each other!) I loved watching their relationships with their children. How they made sure their needs were put first. Their lives were an integral part of this story. And when they bond with each other’s kids – it will melt your heart!
The Best of Me has everything in it… laughs, feels, suspense, steam and above all else love. The different elements in this book combined with top notch storytelling makes this a don’t miss book!
The Best Series!
I can’t find words to rightfully explain, but every time I think about this series, I feel blissful and my starts to warm.
This is one of the series I’ve ever read, and I can’t even wait for the next books.
I don’t know what kind of magic this author does, but evey time I read her books, I’m filled with hapinness and love.
I miss her books when I’m not reading, and I love them when I start one of her amazing stories.
And since page one, you can’t help but love her characters, who are always so perfectly flawed and so relatable that you can almost touch them. Their stories are yours as well, and reading them gives you embraceful hope.
And that was exactly how I felt reading The Best Of Me.
I loved Nona since Out Of My League, and Trick had intrigued me since then as well.
But I honestly didn’t think I would love them this much.
This is a story about a second chance at love, and how you have to learn how to let go of the past and the idealization you created over something that brought more sadness than joy.
Most of all, it’s a story about fighting for that one thing (or that one person, in this case), that is able to bring always the best of you to the surface.
That one person that, no matter what, no matter how, no matter the ups and downs of life, even with all her/his flaws (and sometimes, specially because of them) can turn something on in you that will light your darkness and make you see life with a new color, and happy color, a blissful color, a loving color.
Nona was extraordinaire. She was shining, radiant, always so devoted to their kids and a person who helped others to shine as well. She was passionate and caring, and she always had good words of wisdom and selfsteem to say. She was so precious, I could only love her.
Trick was intense and so amazing. A loving father, loyal almost to a fault and always so respectful, that even that was kind of a problem to him, when his spiteful and hateful tried to play him.
He was protective and he had so much hotness and sweetness in him you couldn’t even imagine.
And when he realizes what/who is right in front of him, and how different and better she is, and how incredibly Nona touches him, he can’t let her go and he will do whatever it takes to make her his.
So they can each bring out the best of each other!
As usual, I loved the secondary characters. They were fundamental to the story, but they didn’t stole the main characters’s thunder.
And Trick and Nona’s kids were so fantastic. Each one in his/her own ways, they brought life to the book and made everything even more tasteful!
I wanted to rush through the book to read their HEA, but I also wanted to drag it down to savor everything from them.
At the end, I was so fulfilled, and I still wanted more!
The Best of Me by Jessica Prince is full of action, feels, romance, drama, passion and heat. Nona and Trick’s romance took book 3 to awhole another level- it was so phenomenal!!! The chemistry and connection between the main leads in this story is off the charts intense and amazing. Trick and Nona’s love story continues to just have me loving this book and it is now my favorite in the series. Nona and Trick’s romance got off to a rocky start but soon it was all good and things went from sour to sweet n sexy super fast. I loved the kids in this book and the interaction between the main characters. I disliked the exs’ so much. There is tons of twists and I loved the emotions, feels, romance and steam this story puts out. I can’t wait for book 4 to come out.
My Rating: 4.8 stars ********
The Best of Me- so so good!! Trick and Nina- amazing! And Jessica Prince gives readers all the feels!! There is drama and romance and real feelings and I just wanted more and more!
I love Nina strength and her knowing what she wants. And Trick- love watching him grow. I love their story! Their friends add so much and this is just another great book in the Hope Valley series!!
Jessica Prince has been on TBR list for a while and I am glad that I started with The Best of Me. This book had all the elements of what good book is supposed to have, interesting story line, exceptional characters, some laughs and lots of heat.
Nona was a woman who I’d want to be friends with. Salon owner, single mom, loyal friend and girl who looked at a man and saw a future. Trick was the total package. A good man with a heart of gold, he took care of those around him.
The story line is this book is a page turning great read. Both Nona and Trick have some difficulties with their ex’s to work through, their kids and the blending of their families add another dimension to the story that makes all that more real.
Ms. Prince’s writing is excellent, pacing the story with all the emotions that add to the story line. I will be going back to read the first 2 books in this series and looking at other offerings from this author.
Ohhh I love love loved Trick and Nona! Though they got off to a rocky start, I loved every part of their journey! This book was so good I didn’t want to put it down! Loved their kids as well and I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series!
I am still riding the waves of emotion now that I have completed reading The Best of Me by Jessica Prince. She has brought life to the the Hope Valley series. Talk about second chance at love. Brings out the hope and makes us count our blessings!
I truly adores Nona. She was the glue for her family and friends. She knows what she has is something she would never take granted. Trick….well I hero worshiped the guy. Can Jessica gives us a more perfect hero for this story! He hit every mark.
For the extended family, I could not get enough! I loved the love that flowed through their veins. The support they provide. I could not put this book down. But that is the norm anytime I have a Jessica Prince book. The Best of Me is saucy and spicy. You have your heart in your through with the suspense. You will also find yourself laughing too. I could not ask for more of a perfect story! Hope Valley will consume you!
Hope Valley has become my favorite series by Jessica
Each book just blows me away. There’s alot of romance mixed with drama and then add intense drama and that right there is what makes Hope Valley a great place to visit.
This book is Trick and Nona’s. Now let me just say that I think Nona is the best female character Jessica has written. She’s all Sass with a heart of gold and nothing but lot of love for her kids. Tristen and Blyth.
Trick is all man. A detective in Hope Valley. Just knowing that would make me feel safe. They both have a crush on each other, but Trick has some lingering feels for his witch of an ass wife until Hayes tells him to get over it…..I loved that part.
The drama in this book was so different then other 2. I wont say why. But it will surprise you
***5 ‘Baking’ Stars***
I swear, with each book in this series I fall further and further in love with the inhabitants of Hope Valley ~ well, most of them anyways. The small town feel, the unique and fascinating characters all make the romance between the MC’s a lot more fun and interesting, which in turn made it so easy to get lost in the story and not want to leave it when there were no more words to read.
I adored Trick and Nona. Trick is a really, really good man. He loves his family, friends and has that whole alpha protector thing down pat and oozes charisma like no one else, which makes him all kinds of lethal. He did have him moments though, and there were times where the need to reach out and Gibbs smack him was strong, but once the fog lifted the man was all kinds of determined and that made him absolutely lethal. Nona is a force. She’s sassy, feisty and has a huge and generous heart that doesn’t hold back, even when it may be prudent to protect it. But for all her strength, she does have her vulnerable moments and while this may sound horrible, I actually found the method she used to work through it highly enjoyable and proved that going big is the only way to go.
Nona and Trick’s journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. It really was, but man, that start…that even had me going “Oh, NO he didn’t” (with eyes wide and the shake of the head). Even I was like “How will he get his ass out of that one?” But he did, with a little help (ie meddling, a good kick in the ass and a few other things) from those nearest and dearest to him, as well as a good dose of sincere and blunt honesty and it was so easy to see how these two would be perfect for each other. The swoons were real as were the smexy times and the laughs. These two, along with their kids, were just a lot of fun and I loved how everything turned out for them (and cannot wait to get glimpse of them throughout the series).
The Best of Me was a great read from start to finish. The whole suspense aspect was very well done and really did add another layer to the story and help to make it a real page turner. As for the supporting cast of characters, I loved catching up with Linc, Eden, Hayes and Tempie and seeing how their relationships have evolved and I absolutely adored Tristan, Blythe, Hannah, Shawn and Diva ~ they were all awesome and so well written. And then there are Gypsy, Rory, Marco and Cord…the little bits and pieces we got of these four has me totally excited for their books because they promise to be all kinds of goodness!

I love everything Jessica writes. This one is no different, as soon as it popped up on my kindle, I devoured it with a passion. A 4 star romantic suspense.
Nona is a divorced mother of 2. She’s not looking to find someone else. Trick is also a divorced father of 2. He’s not looking for someone else. While they aren’t looking they find each other.
I devoured this story in one day. I read it none stop. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is for personal reasons. It had nothing to do with the amazing characters or the AWSOME addicting storyline. I personally don’t like terms of endearments and there was a lot. I mean a lot more for my taste. I understand that in certain parts of the US they are popular.
It was a story that kept me on the edge of my seat with suspense. Not knowing how this story would play itself out. It’s great that we get to see where the previous couples are at. Bottomline this is a must read.
This is part of the Hope Valley series but I can safely say that it could be read as a standalone. But for better enjoyment read them all. This is the third book. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this book and series. I can’t wait for more.
The Best of Me is the third book in this series. This was Trick’s and Nona’s story.
I adored Trick! The man was hot, a great guy and such a wonderful dad. Nona was a sweetheart who loved her kids and put them first. Their relationship didn’t start out the best, but Trick soon realized his mistake and busted his back to make things right. The connection between Trick and Nona was special, and the funny banter they shared made me love them together even more. Their kids were also awesome and I loved how well they all got along from the very beginning. Even Emma grows up which I thought was a great addition to the story.
With Trick being a cop, you know there will be some drama, and in this case it hits close to home.
The ending with Trick and his daughter Hannah was super sweet and had me shedding a couple of tears.
Looking forward to reading Gypsy’s and Marco’s story next.
Nona Fanning has watched Patrick “Trick” Wanderly from afar, he had the marriage that every woman dreams of doting on his wife and standing proud as a father of two. Nona resolved herself that she would never have a man like that and after failed marriage she truly believes she will never have that. That is until Trick’s marriage dissolves and after some time has passed they share a moment, the problem is Trick doesn’t realize that he was letting the woman who could become everything to him slip through his fingers. When Trick realizes he wants Nona by his side and wants to blend their families, the ex’s become a problem. Can Trick and Nona lean on each other as they navigate shark infested waters that are swirling around them?
Not sure why I waited for this one but this is one of the best in the series. I loved Trick and Nona. Trick is a manly man who is all about family. He is one of my favorite characters so far in this author’s book. I have always loved Nona from the very first book and she just continues to amaze me with her thoughtfulness of others and the way she is with her kids. High praise.
Grammar and spelling errors are pretty widespread as are omitted words, misplaced words, unnecessary words, and mixed up characters. If not for that, this could be a great series.
Seriously – Nona kicks butt and takes names. I fell in love with her character, even when I wished she smacked some sense into Trick. I can seriously get behind a woman who picks herself up, dusts herself off and swears no one will ever take advantage of her again. I kept thinking of JoDee Messina’s song “Stand Beside Me” – I felt it could be her theme song.
I also love that the characters in Hope Valley are in their 30’s and 40’s – I’m always more interested in a love story where the characters have lived a little before settling down! Overall, I loved Trick and Nona and I cannot WAIT for Gypsy’s story!!
