Bell Harbor is a one-million copy bestselling series.Everyone in Bell Harbor thinks career-minded plastic surgeon Evelyn Rhoades needs a husband. Everyone, that is, except for Evelyn…sort of. Even if she did want a husband (which she doesn’t…most of the time), she’d never let something as intangible as fate determine who she marries. No, if she’s going to find someone to spend her life with, … her life with, she’ll do it scientifically: with a carefully crafted list of criteria and an Internet dating site.
But when intoxicated, law-breaking Tyler Connelly crashes into her life by way of a stolen Jet Ski, unruly emotions defy common sense. Sure, he’s sexy, charming, and determined to win Evelyn’s affection, but all evidence points to him being the worst possible choice. He’s too young for her. Too irresponsible. Too underemployed. And, oh yeah, he’s her patient.
But Tyler knows firsthand how the best-laid plans can crumble under the weight of destiny. Now all he needs to do is to teach Evelyn that, in matters of the heart, love often supersedes logic.

Tracy Brogan is my go-to for chick lit!
Yes, this is another too-good-to-be-true hero, but as I’ve said before… “What’s wrong with that?” If I want reality, I can walk outside. 🙂
As the first book in this series, I laughed constantly. I literally had to put my hand over my mouth to hold back my chuckles, as people started staring at me.
I will say I liked the heroine in this story more than the first Bell Harbor novel, but if you like laugh-out-loud chick-lit, I’d recommend that you read both, especially since several of the characters from Book One make an appearance. This is not a series; it’s a collection. Book Two is not a follow-up to the first Bell Harbor novel, it’s simply a new story, set in the same location, which means you’ll bump into a few locals, but no evil cliffhangers, which I appreciate.
Note: There’s a little rough language, but most of it is believable, as in the character was usually perturbed at the moment. Sex is mostly beneath the sheets, nothing graphic.
Another great read set in the magical small beach town of Bell Harbor. Several characters from Crazy Little Thing reappear, adding their humor and unwanted advice to Dr. Evelyn Rhoades, feeling every day of her thirty-fifth birthday. No one in Bell Harbor hesitates to throw in their advice on finding romance—or at least good sex which could also lead to marriage. Her attraction to twenty-eight-year old Tyler Connelly evokes dire warnings.
Tyler’s a good guy, but definitely not marriageable material for someone like Evvie. He dropped out of college. His family’s screwed up. He’s facing arrest for something he informs Evvie he didn’t do.
Her obsession with their age difference, plus her obsessive determination to find a man who fits all her qualifications for a husband, provide several laugh-out loud moments. Bell Harbor really comes into its own as a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Evvie and Tyler are two of the most delightful characters in a funny, hopeful story I didn’t want to end.
I had no idea what to expect, other than I love how funny Tracy Brogan’s sense of humor and writing style could be at times.
I loved this book from start to finish! It was creative and I spent so much time laughing. When I wasn’t laughing I was falling in love with Evelyn & Tyler.
Tracy is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!
Sweet, fun, happily ever after.
Laughs and fun characters made this an easy to read romance. The two sides of the tracks get a thorough exploration here.
The first sentence of the book, “Birthday parties are a lot like pelvic exams – a little uncomfortable, a little awkward, a little too personal, but an unavoidable yearly nuisance – like a Pap smear, only with presents.”, sets the tone of the book. Funny, snappy dialogue and humorous situations abound as 35-year old Dr. Evelyn Rhoades tries a “scientific” approach to dating by using an online dating service. How someone so smart can be so naive and stupid to trust the “data” people submit and an unverifiable algorithm to match up people is beyond me, but it works in the story.
Evelyn is attracted to 27-year old Tyler Connelly, but is put off by the age difference and his trouble with the law. Is there more to Tyler than meets the eye? Can Evelyn overcome her biases? Ms. Brogan takes us on a humorous journey as Evelyn and Tyler navigate their differences to a HEA.
