Lilly Walsh is used to keeping things buttoned-up and aboveboard. After all, the last time she hooked up with someone in a wedding party, it nearly cost her her wedding planning business. Thankfully, those rules don’t apply when she meets a handsome stranger in a hotel bar. One bad pirate joke leads to the best night of her life, but come morning, she’s got a wedding to plan. Lincoln Reid never … Reid never imagined he’d see the woman who rocked his world last night and then ran out on him ever again. But there she is, planning his best friend’s wedding with the same passion and drive that brought him to his knees. She’s adamant that wedding planner and best man can never mix, but that just means he’s got four weeks to make her see him as more than just a one-night guy. Because he’s itching for more than one night…or five, or ten…

This was my first book by Mariah Ankenman and I absolutely loved it! Such an amazing read filled with all kinds of reading goodness:
Positive and uplifting friendships (on both her and his sides).
Strong women who own who they are and what they are (they are hot).
Sexy, down to earth, realistic men who aren’t afraid to be both strong and vulnerable (man tears are sexy as….)
The one night stand that rocked their worlds (walk of success people not walk of shame ).
A deliciously entertaining journey from said one night stand to a sexy no holds barred romp that would seal their fate.
A drool worthy happily ever after that you will thoroughly enjoy.
TBR this fantastic read and if you’re like me you’ll also grab the first book in this series “The Best Friend Problem” and gobble that up as well.
(I received an ARC via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review).
The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman is a delight. I really love this author’s voice and her sense of humour. She has created an interesting set up with her group of wedding planners and the people they encounter. The heroine Lilly is bright, lovely and a professional…and she has a rule to never date anyone associated with the weddings she plans. In walks Lincoln, the best man. The chemistry is there from the start, but these two fight it. Lincoln has demons, just like Lilly does, and neither gives their heart easily. But when they do, we fall in love with them. Bonus: there is an awesome groveling scene in this one.
Note: I am friendly with the author on social media. This review is my honest opinion and was unsolicited.
SOOO funny! When you find out your one-night stand is also the best man for the wedding you’re planning, you either jump ship or do your best to ignore the chemistry between you. Lilly is super uptight, but with good reason to keep her distance. Too bad Lincoln is determined to remind her how good they are together. Mariah Ankenman writes the best RomCom’s and I guarantee your cheeks will still be sore the next day from laughing so hard. Don’t miss out on this wonderful series!
Lilly has one firm rule. No getting involved with a member of a wedding party of her clients. She had done it before and gotten burned. Badly. When she meets Lincoln in a hotel bar she has no idea he is the best man of the wedding she is planing. Lincoln is drawn to Lilly, but she has a wall up. He understands somewhat about her rule, but he will not always be tied to her clients. I loved Lincoln for most of the book. There was one point I wanted to smack him upside the head. Lilly was a wonderful character, although I wanted to smack her upside the head sometimes too. I am really loving the women from mile High Happiness.
I go to a Mariah Ankenman book after I read something dark and I need a pick me up! Her books are so funny and lovable. This series can be read as stand alones which I also appreciate. This book is all about taking a chance and finding love. Highly recommend.
This was just okay. The writing didn’t flow as well as I would have liked, and it was hard for me to get into the story. I found Lilly annoying, even though I understood that she had legitimate reasons for staying away from Lincoln. It was more the way she constantly thought about him and fooling around with him again, but wouldn’t act on it. It was exhausting reading that. The biggest thing was it didn’t seem like anyone else was bothered by her and Lincoln, just her. Lincoln was okay, at least his reasons for not wanting a relationship made sense to me. I really enjoyed the friendships between the two MCs and their friend groups. It was better for me than the relationship between Lilly and Lincoln. This was a first for me from this author, but I would read her again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Mariah Ankenman is back at again with another romantic tale in the ” Mile High Happiness ” club, this fantabulous time around it’s Lilly Walsh’s turn to dive deep in the world of lust, trust, and love- with Lincoln Reid. A spectacular meet up turned forbidden fruit chemistry explosion.
Their hot to touch, passion-filled, emotional story with a side of laughs, friendship and love, was a stellar blast to read- I hope to read more from these fabulous characters soon!
I received a copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a charming and witty book. I adored Lilly and her snarky comments (internal or spoken it didn’t matter!) This book also had some very great words of wisdom about life, love and growing from each relationship whether it was a failure or a success. These characters were written in such a manner that I was fully enchanted and felt so real to me. It was almost like I was right there in the middle of the scenes.
This book is the second of the series and also the second book from this author that I have read. I so look forward to reading many more of her books. I am so looking forward to reading the third BFF of the group, Moira’s story. She is such a great character. As the second story of the series, you really don’t need to read the first story as the author did a fantastic job of writing that this could be a stand-alone (I HIGHLY recommend reading the first story though!!!)
The story was written in a dual POV format. It is my favorite as I can get into the characters’ minds to fully understand their actions in a given situation.
This is a sexy story with some bedroom scenes. There were some details given but not of an erotica manner. That being said, I highly recommend this story for anyone over the age of 18. Especially if you adore a great rom-com.
This is the second book in the Mile High Happiness series by Mariah Ankenman. I didn’t connect with this one quite as well as I did with the first book, The Best Friend Problem. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed this one and it was a fun read, I just didn’t relate to Lilly and Lincoln as easily as I did Finn and Pru.
Lilly and Lincoln both have very good reasons to avoid relationships. There’s a lot of validity to why Lilly now stays away from dating anyone in the wedding party of her clients. She’s been there, done that and has the scars to prove it. Lincoln’s story is way more traditional, but it has left him with just as many issues. That being said, I’ve gotta admit that geeky Lincoln had me smiling a lot during this story.
So far there are only two books in this series and each one is fun, quick, and entertaining to read. I’m sure there will be at least one more. After all, Mo needs her story told!
I really liked this book and it gets 4 big Lincoln stars from me.
Lincoln is a very sexy tech geek whose ex-wife really did a number on him and ruined his trust in relationships and love. He meets Lilly at a bar after she has been to her best friends wedding and they have a one night stand. The morning after she has disappeared without giving her last name or phone number.
Unfortunately for them both he is the best man at the next wedding “the mile high wedding planners” are working on and she is the wedding planner who does not date people involved in weddings especially not the best men. How are they supposed to stay away from each other when their chemistry is so hot and burning and can Lincoln learn to trust in love again and leave his past behind?
I really loved Lilly and Lincoln together and that she finds his really lame jokes funny is so sweet. They are so different but somehow they just fit and I just rutted for them the whole way.
In the beginning I thought that Lilly was very dry and stubborn and I had trouble liking her but she changed throughout the story and became more open and fought for what she wanted.
The side characters were great and I thought that Lilly really needed her very open and forward friend Moira (Mo) to push her out of her comfort zone and take risks she wouldn’t else have taken.
I can definitely recommend this book.
I got this book from Entangled Publishing and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was cute and fun! It was my first from this author, but definitely not my last 🙂 (Book 1 in the series, The Best Friend Problem , is on my TBR–this one worked fine as a standalone, though.)
I really liked both Lilly and Lincoln–they had a lot of chemistry, and their relationships with their respective friends were fabulous. The resistance they each had about a relationship made sense, though of course they should have known that resistance is futile and anyway, they didn’t really want the moratorium on romance to last any longer than the readers did 😉
It’s a romance, so you know going in that there’s going to be a black moment coming–this time it’s Lincoln who throws the relationship away with two hands, which was beyond frustrating (even he thought so while he was doing it…grrr) but he finally makes up for it in a way that is absolutely perfect for both of their characters.
Bring on Mo’s book! I can’t wait to see what her “problem” will be 🙂
Rating: 4 stars / A-

Opposites do attract!
Wedding planner Lilly Walsh swore to never date anybody involved with any wedding she was planning again so when she met Lincoln Reid in a bar and had a one night stand, she thought she was in the clear. Little did she know that she would see Lincoln again as the best man of the next wedding she was planning? Lincoln was moving to Denver for work and he really liked Lilly and wanted to see her more but she refused to give him the time of day after the problems that happened the last time she dated someone in a wedding her company was planning.
The Best Man Problem is fun to read where Lilly and Reid are very opposite types where Lilly hates computers and that is Reid’s job is but they both love to play pinball games which leads to his groveling scene which I loved.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.5 Stars
Lily has instituted a rule for herself about getting involved with anyone from any wedding she’s working so of course the one time she decides to have a one night stand, he’s the best man in the wedding she’s currently working.
I liked Lily and Lincoln. There were parts of this book that just dragged for me and I found myself skimming a lot of chapters.
Can one night turn into forever?
Not if these two have anything to say about it…
…but then again, the heart wants what it wants.
One of a string of recent Entangled Publishing reads I’ve completed and yet another to add to the stack of OMG-THIS-WAS-SO-GOOD! Grant it, this one has a bit more spice than the last one, but I can’t say anything else even slightly negative about it. I adored the lead characters and their interfering (but with so much love!) friends. Getting to know them only made the connection for both them and us stronger. Their time together before the wedding party was definitely a night to remember, but the wattage of sparks flying when they were in the same room (or even thinking about each other!) was electrifying! True, I wanted to let Mo make those “special brownies” for Lincoln (such a good friend, as is Pru!) with his reaction to something in particular, but…although I don’t agree with said reaction, I get where he was coming from, and I think the way Lilly handled it showed so much strength, so much growth that though stinging at the time, it was totally worth it.
Definitely a series I’m glad I came to and one I will be checking into its first release post haste! Reading recommendation for ADULT readers of Contemporary Romance due to some content.

The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman was a story full of steamy chemistry and charm. Lilly Walsh is a wedding planner with her two friends and she knows not to mix business with pleasure. Then she has an amazing night with Lincoln Reid, only to discover he is the best man in an upcoming wedding she is working on. He is off limits now. But their chemistry and connection is undeniable. Can they find a way to be together? This was a fun and steamy story.
Happy reading!
This is book #2, in the Mile High Happiness series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and to really understand the series, I recommend reading these in order.
Lilly is not known to have a one night stand. When she does actually indulge, she feels free and like it was the right thing to do. Later, she finds she is going to run in to Lincoln repeatedly.
Lincoln is glad to see Lilly again. He was wondering what made her leave without any clue. When they seem to be running into each other all the time, he hopes he can convince her to give them another shot. Or will he be friend zoned?
Such a steamy and fun story! I loved each and every page in the time I was reading this book. There was humor, and sexy times, and so much unexpected. I found myself cringing or laughing out loud. I really hope we see these characters again, they are a great pair. We also got to see some already well loved characters from earlier in the series. This is a great read.

Book 2 in the Mile High Happiness series and it was good read. Quick read with very likeable characters. Lincoln and Lily were good together. Good storyline that was very sweet and cute.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
A charming story. Both Lily and Lincoln have been burned in a past relationship and are wary of starting a new one. That doesn’t stop their sizzling attraction. This is a witty and funny story with wonderful characters. These two get to know each other and explore their options for a future together. There are some steamy scenes that add spice to the story.
I loved this story. It was funny, sweet and the characters were easy to love and connect with.
Lilly is a wedding planner, she doesn’t do one-night stands, she doesn’t date clients or anyone in the wedding party. She is hard working and great at what she does. Lincoln is new to hear area and the best man to his best friends wedding. A wedding that Lilly just so happens to be planning. A wedding planner he has previously met and knows in an intimate way.
I LOVED Lilly, Moe and Pru’s friendship. These girls are the best of friends and coworkers. They are a group of women that I would love to be friends with. I equally loved Lincoln’s friendship with Marie and Kenneth. Lilly and Lincoln together is AMAZING. These two had such an amazing connection. I couldn’t get enough of them.
The Best Man Problem is a super fun, sweet, hilarious romance novel that will warm your heart. I can’t wait to see what is next up for the Mile High Happiness crew.
This is book two in the Mile High Happiness series, and it’s just as fun and steamy as The Best Friend Problem.
