This five book Berserker saga is full of high drama, action and adventure, mysticism, fantasy, violence and gore and romance, of course, involving four sisters who are taken and introduced into the Berserker style of living. All the stories are well written and captivate the reader`s interest.
1. Sold to the Berserkers
The main female character has a past history of abuse and trauma. The story is gruesome and violent in parts but overall this is a love story; exceedingly sensual story with much steam. This is a well written short story that flows well. I found it enjoyable.
2. Mated to the Berserkers
The main female character is indoctrinated into the life style of the Berserkers. She has some difficulties adjusting to their mores and suffers the consequences of her actions. Again this story is very engaging with great characterizations. Another enjoyable read.
3. Taken by the Berserkers
The main female character`s story is set apart from that of her sister by the fact that she had been stalked by the dark main male character for quite some time. Sabine accepts their way of life and adapts to her new situation, however, she is not happy with her living situation. She is exceedingly independent and has long ingrained ideals for herself. Over time she comes to understand that giving herself in a relationship that is loving and supportive will only add to her well-being and not subsume her sense of self. Good story.
4. Given to the Berserkers
Again, Muriel`s introduction to the Berserkers is different than her two older sisters. Her abduction appears to have been twofold: one, to mate with the Berserkers and two, for protection. Muriel is with the rival Berserker group to her sister, Brenna`s. This story really heats up in intensity as the Berserkers all strive for domination in attaining a mate. This novel is even more gruesome in spots than her sisters`stories and is very sexual in nature. The fantasy and mystical elements to the whole Berserker saga still about in this novel. A good read.
5. Claimed by the Berserkers
As with Muriel, Fleur`s twin sister, Fleur was taken to mate with the Berserkers but to also protect her. Muriel`s potential mate had to compete for her. Fleur was given the option to make her own selection. Unfortunately, who she was friendly with were deemed to be inappropriate as mates. As a result she was claimed and taken by her mates away from the pack. She too learned the ways of the Berserkers. Fleur`s story has not only the layer of mysticism to it that the previous novels had but this novel also has shadowy evil. A very intricately woven fantasy tale. Ms. Savino you have a great and vivid imagination!
Excellent reading for mature audiences. Well worth the time to indulge in a reading spree of this saga.
Excellent work Ms. Savino!
This was a very good PNR shifter box set based on the Berserker legends, half man half wolf, cursed by a witch that turns them into the Beast, a thing of rage that will kill anything in its path. Cursed to become the Beast and loose themselves to madness unless they can find their true mate, who is able to calm the Beast and keep them sane. This is the story of 4 sisters, Brenna, Sabine, Muriel and her twin Fleur and their Berserker mates! Spanking, claiming and explicit scenes are prevalent throughout this series.
Sold to the Berserkers #1
Brenna was attacked by a wolf as a child, it left her scarred and mute. Abused and mistreated by her stepfather, she is sold to a band of travelling warriors for coin. The warriors are Berserkers who have been watching her for a while, having been told by a witch that their mate bears the scars of a wolf. She is taken back to their encampment, frightened and unable to communicate them, yet she finds that she is treated well and cared for. Samuel and Daegan are the pack masters, joined in a brother bond they lend each other their strength as well as keeping the pack together. They are to become Brenna’s mates, but she must learn the way of the wolf and its pack, which means following the rules or being disciplined for misbehaving.
Mated to the Berserkers #2
Another Berserker clan have heard of Brenna and want her for themselves. Brenna has magic in her that is able to sooth the Beast in the Berserkers, she comes from a family of witches that has to do with nature and submission, even though she is unaware of this herself. She must learn how to get along with her mates, submitting to them and bonding with them through the mating heat, mating bond and mating bite. Can Brenna learn to tame the Beast in time before it takes over them?
Taken by the Berserkers #3
Sabine has been kidnapped by a tattooed warrior, Maddox, in the hope that she is the one that can stabilize his Alpha, Regnvald, who is losing his mind to the Berserker madness. Sabine and her sisters are Hedge Witches, using herbs to heal. Maddox is from the opposing Berserker clan that holds Brenna and is hoping she can mate with him and his Alpha. But Sabine is stubborn and does not submit well, she has a spirit and fire about her, but her magic is that much stronger if she would only learn to submit.
Given to the Berserkers #4
An agreement is reached between the two opposing Berserker packs in which a tournament of brutal games are to be held, the winner of which will get to take Muriel as his mate. Muriel has become friends with Fergus, one of the youngest Berserkers, who she wanted to be with, but he loses in the games with the final coming down to Siebold who is a bully and she fears and Wulfgar, known as the Enforcer, just one below the pack Alphas, a huge man known for keeping the peace within the pack. Wulfgar wins, but the rest of the pack are unaware of the warrior bond he has formed with Fergus, and as such end up sharing Muriel. But Siebold is unhappy and jealous and is determined to have Muriel for himself.
Claimed by the Berserkers #5
Fleur is Muriel’s twin and has always been sickly and ill, even when taken by the Berserkers, she is not well. As such the Alphas have agreed that she can pick who she wants for a mate. Fleur has always been able to see things, things that others cannot see, and she has only ever told Muriel about her visions, she has even seen her own death. She was haunted by Grey Men in her village, an evil she could see and feel, that resulted in the sickness she suffers from. How is she able to take a mate knowing that she is not going to live long? Arne, Erik and Gunnr are bonded brothers who believe Fleur is their mate, but they have been banned from her choice as the Alphas class Gunnr as unstable as he is unable to shift out of his wolf form into a man. So they decide to kidnap her and mate with her away from the pack. But the plot thickens at the Grey Men and the Corpse King challenge for their brides, the Hedge Witches, of which more are being held captive by a priest. The rogue wolves must escape the wolf pack that is hunting them whilst continuing to try and mate with Fleur.
This was a good box set, there is a recurring theme, but the stories differ enough from each other to hold your interest. More books in this series are set to be released.
Lee Savino has created storyline lifelike and filled with such passion, awe, and trepidation it will feed your soul and imagination from page 1 to the end of the series.
“For hundreds of years, the Berserker warriors have fought and killed for kings. There is but one enemy they cannot defeat: the beast within.”
Centuries ago a group of fierce Vikings followed a witch who could make them powerful enough to fight all battles. In doing so, her magic had transformed these men into beasts. Not only man or wolf, but a combination of the two that had only a killing rage within them. Once the beast took over, there were no rational thoughts left until there was nothing left in sight to kill. These men went centuries carrying this curse thinking there was no reprieve, until a witch told them of a woman who could calm the beast.
Follow along and be mesmerized in one of the best shifter tales I’ve read to date. You won’t be disappointed.
This is a great way to read the first 5 books in the series and by signing up for the authors newsletter you get another two books for free. We get the backstory about the first four women to bond with mates, two with the Alpha’s, which allows the packs to settle for a time. The box set ends with the discovery of the Great evil and finding more brides.
One of the best series that I have read. I would definitely recommend it.
The Berserker saga puts all of the first books in one easy to read set. It lets you read all about Brenna, Sabine, Muriel, and Fleur and their mates all at once.
I love all the sisters and their stories, but I have to say that Muriel is my favorite. The way that her mates found her, and how tricky Fergus and Wolfgar are is just awesome. Out of all of the mates that these 4 sisters have managed to get, Wolfgar and Fergus are the ones I would choose myself.
Just because Muriel’s story is my favorite doesn’t mean that I don’t like the rest. There is a scene in the second Brenna story that is just super hot. I’ll never think about deerhide the same way again.
Fleur’s story is perfect because she finds the mates who can actually protect her in the way that she needs to be protected.
There really isn’t anything wrong with any of these stories and I can reread them over and over and over and over.
An amazing boxset of the first 5 books of the Berserkers Saga. Dive into the world of the Berserkers and the woman they love and would do anything to keep them safe and protected. They are very hot, sweet, action packed and funny. Full of Alpha men and feisty woman.
I enjoyed the plot of the first 5 installments.
