Love this author’s books!
Good clean mystery with a twist ending.
Recommend to fans of historical mysteries.
An enjoyable, well-written read. I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series, although I now want to, so I can confirm it can be read as a stand-alone novel.
I am a big fan of this author and have been following her and these books. I find them to be fun books to read and an easy read while at the same time I reap the benefits of a good mystery with good characters.
Just discovered Penny and I’m a fan!! Love the Victorian setting and attention to detail! This was such a delightful book! I’m so glad there are more in the series……I will be looking up the rest of her stories!
I enjoy the Victorian world of British mysteries.
Love the series
I like the Penny Green series. Always entertaining.
Another great book by Emily Organ.
Our favourite 19th Century journalist, Penny Green is back along with all the regular characters. Once again set in the backdrop of London in the late 1800s and all the antiquated ideals of the time.
Having read some of the reviews of others, mostly Americans, I cannot help feeling that maybe the lack of understanding of British history causes the negative comments however they are wrong.
Emily captures the Victorian ideals perfectly in both the characters of Penny and James.
Once again a great read that will hold you till the end.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
A good read. Keeps you guessing.
I really enjoyed this book. I recommend it.
Enjoy the series. Intelligent female reporter. Rooting for her and so happy with the way this book ended!
I love the Penny Green series, a female journalist in Victorian era London. This particular book follows an especially engaging story. Riveting with twists, turns and complications, mystery upon mystery. Glorious!
True to its era, well researched, interesting well developed characters and plot, excellentvread.
I really enjoy this series, always waiting for the next one!
This was an entertaining read. I got a bit frustrated with the romantic relationship (ditch the twit, for Pete’s sake). This was my third Penny Green book. The heroine is a pretty good character. The policeman is a nitwit she’d do well to steer clear of.
I may skip the rest because of the romance that isn’t. Well see.
Historical novel with some progressive rights for women. This is also a murder mystery based on some actual recorded cases in Victorian England. This is part of a series that I am thoroughly enjoying.
Great character s that made me want to know more about them. The mystery was a little too predictable.
Victorian England was a slow read for me, so much unfamiliar. What truly surprised me was I had the wrong person picked out clear to the end as the murderer. I look forward to more novels set in this era.
