“The Beekeeper’s Cottage” by Emma Davies is the perfect summer read. This book is the sequel to “The House at Hope Corner” but it can be read as a standalone book easily..

This is a light easy read for a lazy summer day. I instantly fell in love with the village of Hope Corner. The characters are wonderful which makes reading even more pleasurable.
I highly recommend this novel to all who love Romance/Chic Lit novels.
I requested and received an Advanced Readers copy from the publisher and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Grace has been married to Paul for years and has endured his abuse and philandering, up until now. When Grace tells him she wants a divorce, Paul reacts with his typical callousness and cruelty by promising to deny her the one thing she wants in the settlement, their home. Grace is devastated, and pours out her heart to her best friend and next door neighbor, Flora. As they are talking they are overheard by Amos, a drifter who happened by Flora’s family’s farm, and has been hired to do some remodeling work in exchange for meals and a place to sleep. Amos finds that he wants very much to help Grace with her difficulties, so they work out an arrangement where he helps her with some things in her home, and she introduces him to beekeeping, which she loves.
This is a very sweet and charming story, with a bit of romance thrown in. It was a true pleasure to read and I will be looking for more of this author’s books in the future. With no foul language or sex scenes, it is a book for anyone who likes a well written story that makes you care about its characters and the outcome.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author Emma Davies, and the publisher Bookouture, for granting my request to read this ARC. This is my honest opinion.

The Beekeeper’s Cottage by author Emma Davies will touch many of your emotions as you read the story of Grace and Amos. Grace is a beautiful woman who loves her home and gardens, enjoys beekeeping, and is ready to ask her selfish husband for a divorce. She has had enough of Paul’s lies and infidelities and all she wants is her home with some peace of mind. Amos is a very intuitive stranger who offers to work and help at the flower farm in the village of Hope Corner. As the friendship between Grace and Amos deepens, Grace wonders if Amos is carrying a burden and a secret, maybe he is trying to escape from an event or memories. Life for Grace is becoming more difficult as Paul refuses to allow Grace to have her house. It is the way he can hurt her the most. Paul’s boss asks Grace to host a business house party for very important clients. He makes an agreement with Grace that he will persuade Paul to allow Grace to have her house if his company wins the new contract. So it is ‘Game On’ as Grace, Amos, and her dear friends Flora and Ned try to help. During all the work to freshen the house, beekeeping, and tending friendships, Grace realizes what is most important to her life.
The Beekeeper’s Cottage is a wonderful and encouraging summer read!
