Can Beauty tame her BEAST?Isabella—Grady Williams is a national treasure, the youngest living Medal of Honor recipient, America’s scarred superhero. With tattooed arms sculpted from carrying M-16s, this bad boy has girls begging from sea to shining sea to get a piece of his action. When my father squanders away my college fund, I make a deal with this dirty-talking Devil Dog—I will pretend to be … Devil Dog—I will pretend to be Grady’s girlfriend for the Marine Corps Ball, and my dad will write Grady’s war memoir.
Grady is fearless. Hell, this badass jumped on a grenade to save his fellow Marines! As much as I crave him, I refuse to allow myself to become addicted to a dangerous man who will detonate my heart.
Grady—Isabella Cuesta is an angel who can see beyond my mangled skin, a pawn used to repay her father’s debt, a woman who makes me feel like a man instead of a monster.
But I no longer believe in fairy tales.
She’s mine until our contract ends. I’ll take her hard and rough, listen to all her hopes and fears, lay down my life to protect her.
This beauty will never let herself love a dangerous man like me—a man who has killed, a man who runs towards gunfire, a man who never backs down from a fight.
But without her love, I’m not a man—I’ll remain forever a beast.
Publisher’s note: This is a full-length, standalone novel. Happily Ever After. No cliffhanger. No cheating.

Hot, hot, hot! Original retelling of a classic tale. I couldn’t put it down.
Wonderful contemporary military romance. The characters are outstanding, realistic and we’ll developed. There is lots of drama, hope and the stresses of both Grady and Isa. The storyline grabs you and keeps you turning pages. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
The beauty – came to the party as Black Widow and the beast came as the Hulk. Chance brought them together and it became complicated (in a mostly good way). This story is rich in detail and literally pulls from today’s present to ratchet up the level of intensity. I loved it. Not easy subjects are addressed by our team but very enlightening. Bravo!!
This is the first book I have read from Ms Albertson.
Love how the military was represented and the scars and pain were not glossed over. Love wins in the end. Beautiful.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This was a quick, easy read. The story line based on reality TV mixed with a war hero. I do not usually dive into storylines with regards to reality TV. However, I do have a soft spot for war heroes! A touch unbelievable, but isn’t that what a reader wants, something to escape into for a while. Interesting character development, easy to read, and a happy ever after.
I enjoyed “The Beauty and The Beast” (nook) because it is about a military hero. The story started strong but at the end it was not as believable as at the beginning. I would actually rate it at 3-1/2 stars.
If you like a scarred bad boy, this is the book for you. The hero sounds very hot. The characters are 3 dimensional and realistic. This is an easy read, perfect for summer reading.
I wanted to like this story. It was hard to see the story between all the bedroom scenes. It was especially hard to see how loved developed with how they were with each other. The ending was romantic just didn’t fit with their story. Not bad though.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book

Great original twist! Enjoyed reading this book!
Like a strong seal book. This was good. I do think ended in a rushed way though.
I have a thing for broken warriors and women that help them heal and find back into life. This story struck a deep chord within me and the storyline and the way the author writes are just so beautiful and relatable. Alana Albertson shows clearly that there is beauty in all of us, the broken, the misfit, the shadow parts. She brings it to light and covers it in so much love that it shines and radiates. And that glow fills your heart and makes you believe that anyone can find true love, no matter how chipped and broken, no matter how much of a shadow lies on your soul. You are beautiful and someone, that perfect, special someone will see it, appreciate it and love you exactly for this and you will love them back in the same way, unconditional, not despite any perceived deficiencies but precisely because of them. Such an amazing, wonderful book. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
It felt a bit disjointed but overall was okay.
Loved it !
What a wonderful take on the classic
3.5 Stars
Grady Williams is a hero, he believes the title is not deserved as he was only doing his duty. His duty left him scarred, of course when women find out who he is they all over him but he wishes for a woman who would just want him for being him.
Isabella Cuesta isn’t sure what to make of the Hulk in costume she meets at a party. Isa is not one to jump in bed with someone but she finds Grady intriguing. Grady though is sending mixed messages and when Isa’s father blows through her money she makes a deal that could sacrifice everything she is building with Grady.
Intriguing story, I always enjoy a classic retelling. You feel for Grady, he feels he is cursed and is bitter because of it. Isa is a psych major who understands more than Grady thinks, he is jaded and even though he would love nothing more than to just be with Isa he is jaded. Fairly quick read, overall good story I think I would have liked this drawn out a bit more to savor the story.
