My husband had been keeping a secret from me—a secret that would irrevocably change the course of our lives. He was the son of one of the most ruthless men alive, and an heir to the infamous Fausti crime family. They were beautiful, powerful, ruthless—royalty in their beloved Italy and beyond. Though I was under their protection, the monster who craved me would stop at nothing to have me. He … have me. He demanded blood as the price for revenge.
The clandestine life my husband led pulled us deeper into a dangerous world, and his vengeance came at my expense. I became the one with a secret to keep—a secret that might kill me in the end.
Book IV in a seven-part Mafia Romance saga.

This is the fourth installment of an incredible story! Each book is better than the last! The storyline is intricate and the characters are detailed and complex. The secret life Brando lives seems to be pulling him and Scarlett deeper into the dark. I just cannot imagine where this story will continue to go. Each book surprises me more.
But the most favorite thing I love about this author’s books is her incredible descriptions. They pull me in as if I’m really there.
The trail widened and the land opened up, encircling the waterfall with a garden that could only be described as a slice of Eden. Red flowers grew wild, and a rainbow arched over the entire area, a Technicolor mirage. A butterfly with wings of gold fluttered across the open landscape like a piece of shattered sunburst. Clear water sluiced down the rock, turning its trail almost black, feeding a pool that rippled out, the water sapphire shading to mossy green.
The hills were overtaken by wildflowers, so vibrant they were almost blinding. Blankets of purple and red and yellow rolled with the hillocks. The roses had revived themselves, a mixture of white and pink blooms, their perfume heady and sweet when the wind blew. Even the lemon trees had started to reproduce, small suns that smelled citrusy.
I cannot wait for the next installment of this series! This is definitely a “do not miss” series!
“We are as thick as blood- we are family” I think this sums up this book perfectly!!!! Family in good times and bad always looking out for each other. I enjoyed this book the most so far in this series and am so curious to see where the remaining books will take Brando and Scarlett. At a tine when they could have let grief ruin them, they found a way to communicate and get their lives back on track and I love that the author took that route with this couple While I got some answers to questions that i had so many new ones were brought up and I can’t wait to see what book 5 has in store for us
Brando and Scarlett’s journey continues in this 4th part. The physical distance between them is getting harder and harder for each to bear. Brando would never interfere in her career, but he really needs to be near his love, and she in turn, needs him near, too.
I really don’t want to give spoilers, so I’ll avoid a longer review like I usually write, so I’ll just say that this installment of The Beautiful Years saga is romantic suspense at its best. Scarlett and Brando’s love is so fierce, so strong and passionate, that it grounds the entire story line, and everyone and everything else just orbits around that love. Being that this is a Mafia saga, there’s of course action, suspense, and intrigue, but through it all is their love, the love that’s the heart of their relationship, the heart of this beautiful story. I’ve been enthralled with Brando and Scarlett and their love, and all part 4 really does is just cement the love I have for this couple. Now if only part 5 would come, NOW!
This is the 4th book in the series. You should definitely read them in order or you will miss some major plot twists! Scarlett and Brando are strong, likeable characters who along with their families make this series an interesting edge of your seat roller coaster ride! If you are a fan of mafia type romantic suspense then this series is for you.
This is a really good start to a new saga with well written characters that are well developed and engaging the storyline flowed smoothly and grabbed my attention till the end.

Terrific mafia story. Plenty of action, suspense, sadness, danger. Main characters are complicated and their journey takes us on a crazy roller coaster ride with plenty of twists. Must be read in order, can’t wait for the next book!!!!

The writing is great considering the plot and story line drags. I had to make myself finish it. The writing is great considering the plot and storyline had too many characters taking away the story from the two main character leaving it meandering all over the place with so much filler.
What I liked about this book was the dialogue between the characters making it feels real. It mentioned the mafia affiliated but no action was in the storyline of this particular book in the series.

I love this Mafia family love story. Brando Piero Fausti and Scarlett Posey Fausti, a love so deep that she could feel when something is wrong with him and vice versa, he could feel her. I like the different places that it takes us in the book. Of course it would be in Europe because of Scarlett being a Ballerina, in fact that is what Brando like to call her Ballerina girl. At times I wanted to hurt someone and at times I was crying and other times their love just made me smile. Well Annie Rose Welch has hooked me. I haven’t read all of the family saga I only own one of the other books so I am going to buy the set read from the beginning because I do have that one and preorder if they have it the next book in the series. I am hooked on this series and can’t wait to see how it plays out. So much happens with him being the son of a mob boss and growing up in the same house with the little girl who becomes a women and becomes his wife. It is one of those stories that will make you want to read it every chance you get if you can’t sit down and read it one sitting. I would encourage those who love suspense, romance, love, violence and family and all that entails an Italian family saga I would get this series but I would get this book in particular.

The Beautiful Years- Part 4 by Annie Rose Welch. Feels like I have been waiting forever to read more of Scarlett and Brando’s story. But so worth the wait! I only wish they hadn’t spent so much time apart in the beginning of this book. It is heartbreaking being away from your love for so long and so often. I love how passionate this couple is when they are together- they make their connection meaningful. It is so refreshing to read such quality work, but I expect nothing less from this truly talented and amazing author. High praise to Annie Rose Welch for creating such a beautiful love story with depth and emotion you can feel as you read. This is not a story to skim through, you really need to take time and soak up each line, each scene, and each character. I highly recommend this book, series, and author to you. I don’t even know where to start. There is so much to tell, but all would be spoilers. So I will start with this. Annie puts a cast of characters in the front of the book. I think this is genius!! I wish I could say I was such a huge fan that I remember everyone’s name and what they are in the book, but as with everyone else in the world, I have other things that take up space in my mind. So this is why I find this list of characters so attractive. As soon as I started reading down the list all these light bulbs started going off in my mind. It all started flooding back into my mind.
I will warn you not to read this book in public. You will cry. No joke. You will also laugh and swoon too. You will also want to block out time to sit down and read this book in one sitting.
We pick up where the other book left off. There are so many things swirling around the Fausti family. New and old threats come after Brando and Scarlet once again. Then a sin that runs so deep that it can never be forgiven. Old threats have new allies.
What God has brought together let no man put asunder has a whole new meaning in this book.
Broken and hurt Brando and Scarlet will find their way to their happily ever after. As they are one.
Oh be still my intensely beating heart. The soul connection between Brando and Scarlett is so deep that the pages hum with it. All the trials and tribulation that come from their union is deep and intense. All that gets thrown their way would break another. I love the fey in Scarlett and her innate sense of right and wrong. This story is so strong and insane that you tense up while reading. I wish we could see the brothers standing united, speaking Italian and looking so overbearing and dominate. The books just keep getting better and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

I’m not trying to be difficult, but I have to say this LOUD AND CLEAR. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS SERIES SET WITH THE SAME COUPLE SAME FAMILY DEEP ISSUES. You should not start with this book. There are three more before it that are deep, dark, dangerous, delicious, filled with lies, deceit, deception, love, devotion, protection.
There are highs and lows in most if not all relationships. Some come from just living life. Others come from the lies, secrets, or just out right deception of what is said, done, omitted. With this fourth installment in the Beautiful Years series you are going to get all that goes with the fact that she married in to a crime family that she had no knowledge of. She finds that when it hits the fan. It really hit the fan. You are going to find the same love and devotion from the one man in the world she thought she could pin her whole world on. You will see just where the ruthlessness of his birth right comes from.
I have this to say. If you love mafia type romance, suspense, danger and all that goes with it then you will need to very much pick up this book. After you have gather the other three before it. This is a fantabulous series that will have you on your seat, turning the page, wanting more, staying up late or waking up early. The depths only go deeper.
Revenge is best served cold. But this time I think that maybe revenge will have a whole new meaning given to it.
Brando Fausti shows how hard it is to grow up in la famiglia. Scarlett Fausti needs to write her thoughts and feelings down. In this part of the series our couple are separated a lot. Our couple shows how difficult it can be on the heart. It’s also easy to see how much they miss each other.
I liked how the author found ways for them to communicate even when apart. It makes our couple more real since that’s what any loving couple would do. In previous books I had feelings of soap opera and reality show. This book I have feelings of real life. In the last book we got to see Scarlett shine and Brando took the back seat. In this book he seems to be in the forefront. But when they are together, they seem to tackle anything together.
Because of the world Brando comes from it filters into the story and that will help to move the story along. A little mystery and suspense is never a bad thing. We have a secondary character that seems to have more of a roll here as well. Is it she’s starting to be a little more important to this series? Only you and time can tell. One thing I can tell you is that this is not a series that you can start here – you have to start from the beginning. Otherwise you may not understand the characters or what is going on. Plus starting from the beginning will not be a hard chore.
How our author got the inspiration to tell Brando and Scarlett’s story over seven books I will never know. What I do know is that each book can stand on its own. You will not feel as if you’ve read anything before – anything being repeated. It’s all about the couple and their life – be it together or apart. It certainly has me curious as to what is in store for us in the next book – especially with the ending she left me with.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I didn’t think this series could get any better, but OMG it has. I absolutely love Brando, he is a fierce protector and has no boundaries with Scarlett, Scarlett started off being a somewhat shy young girl in the first book but now holds her own and tames Brando, almost like the light to his dark.
I have just finished this book now I want the next already, I don’t want this series to end and I am going to have a big ugly cry when it does.
This book is twisty and edgy, It takes you on a journey and we see more of Scarlett’s mindset. if you haven’t read ANY of these books, then what the hell have you been doing, read them now!
These books are like my favourite comfort, like a pair of well worn slippers, I know I am going to pick up one of these books and get my fix!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book Annie, I adore your writing.
