There’s a beast in the fae court. One so fearsome his people quake in fear or desire whenever he’s near.Except one.The new palace baker has no fear or regards for her own safety which only makes the beast want her even more. Enraged by her failure to bow to him and enchanted by her baking, this beast might very well be tamed by a mere human. If he doesn’t feed her to his dragon first.
I really liked this story. While not a great new concept, it was well written and made me laugh out loud throughout it. I loved how Balefire and Ericka spent most of the story confused and lost while everyone else knew what was happening and tried to tell them the truth. They were a riot as the Fae King and the simple Human Baker try to survive each other. Just another fun story by Erin that I read in one sitting and liked.
this book was so good. i love how hot she made baleficient. i was jealous of the human who got all his attention. i love how extremely romantic this book gets.
I loved reading this book. The action between Erika and the King is beautiful.. Erika is human and she is an awesome bakery chef.. her specialties are Pies and Quiches. The King is the ruler the spring court. Finch is the Kings adviser and best friend
I can’t wait to see if there is going to be another book to the series..
Loved this book. I was witty and I smiled throughout the whole book. I loved Ericka and her banter with the king. Would definitely re read.
I
Ericka, a human who barely as filter and always says what she thinks, enter a baking contest to become the fae king new baker. Balefire takes interest in her with an incident that happens during the contest and decide to take her as baker and to try to break her. Trouble will follows for Ericka. She nees not only to survive the king’s temper but also Shirazan, his dragon, who soons became jealous of this human. As the two get to know eachs other, Balefire starts to feels feeling that he never felt for anyone.
A great Beauty and the Beast style reading. Really loved it.

The boldness of a human baker, and her skill at baking just might be the key to taming the beast of the fae court.
Yummy- in so many ways!

What I love…
This is the type of story from Ms. Bedford that I love. It has an “adult” fairy-tale vibe. The heroine is strong-willed and sassy- in this case we need to add a little klutzy. The banter between Erica and Balefire will keep you entertained and giggling at times. So, if you need something to “pick you up” look no further than this great story.

OMG I LOVED this! A well written Fae story that will hook you from the first page with its fab storyline and intriguing characters! Loved reading Balefire and Erika’s interactions and their hot hot hot chemistry and the world the author has built is just fun and fascinating!
This is a well written book with strong , well developed characters and an entertaining story line. The author brings a hilarious story with a sassy humor and a King who wants to teach her a lesson. She brings it to life with her vividly painted scenes as well as the banter throughout. There’s tons of action in this fast paced story. It moves fluidly and is an enjoyable read.

Ericka is a baker who enters a contest to bake for the king. She is a bit klutzy and all mouth and when she unknowingly offends the king himself he can’t help himself. Balefire wants her close, he wants to punish the human who dares defies him, but he also finds her intriguing. Ericka has to survive his temper and stay away from Shirazan the dragon if she hopes to survive and just do what she wants which is bake. Excellently written, this book will draw you in from the very first and hold you captive until the end. I volunteered to read this book on Booksprout.
Enjoyable ready but just missing that extra spark between the characters that would have made this a 5 star review. It still has that Erin Bedford magic but just not as much as normal. That said it was an enjoyable read with a promising plot and hopefully the character dynamics will sort themselves out in the next book.
This is a fun read and a cute story. Ericka is a real spitfire. Being a human has always made her less to the fae. When Balefire takes an interest in her, life takes a big turn. I really enjoyed this read. There is some fear and action along the way but overall a sweet fairy tale like story.
Take an accident prone smart mouth baker, and an angry terrifying fey King, add an accidental pie in the face, lots of smart remarks a jealous dragon lady and a touch of love and you get the lighthearted fun to read story

This was an enjoyable easy read. While I enjoyed the back and forth and stubbornness of the characters, I wish we could see more build and wooing between them. The majority of the book they are pushing each other buttons because they refuse to admit they have feelings for each other so we don’t get to see real progression in their relationship. I also wish their was an epilogue that shows where the relationship went after they confessed their feelings.
Erika decided to enter a contest to try to become the newest baker at the King’s Palace, yet everything went wrong. Her alarm clock didn’t go off, someone put her pie on the floor to be ruined. She was running late to the contest. She really wants to win this, to move on from where she lives now.
Balefire decided to go the baking contest pretending to be someone else. He wanted to be able to watch without everyone falling over him for being King. He brought his advisor Finch with him. He didn’t like some of things that were going on, he was able to make them wait for the last contestant.
When Erika rushed in, she tripped and ended putting the pie into the face of the man. She was sorry that it happened and tried to apologize. She needed to start baking, she decided to do her special recipe to try to win the contest.
Erika is having a hard to time due to the other
Balefire decides to hire Erika for the job, but he had other motives, he decides he will break her. He tells her so much. Erika is turns to Finch to help her understand.
Erika’s life at the palace is not what she thought, she is doing everything but baking. She realized that the King is keeping his word, she will not break. In she can’t help but mouth of to him. Erika is playing with fire with the king.
Will Erika and Balefire admit how they feel for each other? Will Balefire be able to save Erika’s life when she is put into danger
This was a good read, I enjoyed the characters and the world of this book
