Animal magnetism has a whole new meaning…
Some things are so worth waiting for. Like the moment when Jessica Ward “accidentally” bumps into heartthrob Bobby Ray Smith and shows him just how far she’s come since high school. Back then, Jess turned to jelly any time Smitty got near her. Some things haven’t changed. Except now Jess is a success on her own terms. And she can enjoy a romp — or … can enjoy a romp — or twenty — with a big, bad wolf and walk away. Easy.
The sexy, polished CEO who hires Smitty’s security firm might be a million miles from the lovable geek he knew, but her kiss, her touch, is every bit as hot as he imagined. Jess was never the kind to ask for help, and she doesn’t want it now — but someone is targeting her Pack. And Smitty’s not going to turn tail and run. Not before proving that their sheet-scorching animal lust is only the start of something even wilder…

Finding what he left behind
The perfect second book for the Pride Series! I love that Smitty found his mate, but she wasn’t giving in without a fight. Jessica is such a strong female that she will get everything she deserves or do without. The author did a fabulous job of bringing Jess from the girl who used to hide to the woman who is alpha of her pack. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the Pride series next!
4 stars – It was really good
When Bobby Ray Smith takes a security job for a computer geek party he doesn’t expect to find his childhood friend, Jessica Ward. She is no longer a gangly girl that frequently hid from the Smith she wolves. She is now a beautiful, confident and extremely sexy woman, and Smitty doesn’t want to let her go.
Smitty and Jessica’s story was just as good as I remembered. Jessica has had a crush on Smitty since she was a teenager but nothing ever came of it. Now he is back in her life and clearly wants her but Jessica makes him fight for her. She doesn’t want a gentle relationship, she wants everything a Smith male is known for. I really liked Jessica. She was smart, confident, sassy, and was very determined. I loved her dedication to keeping Smitty at arms length if he wouldn’t give her everything.
Smitty was quite hilarious. He was smarter than some Smiths but he isn’t on the genius level as Jessica. I loved that he didn’t get a lot of her references but just laughed it off. I liked that he was a pretty chill wolf, even if he was the alpha. I also enjoyed learning more about his pack and family.
As with all the books in this series, I really enjoyed the side characters. They are all well developed, supportive, and of course, hilarious. Also, I love the wild dog energy. I wish it could be bottled because I could totally use some of that energy. Overall, this was a great sequel to the first book and I can’t wait to reread the rest of the series.
Have had this book for years, but thought to re-read the series this past month. Bobby Ray and Jessie Ann are the high school friends to sweethearts story of the series! Getting to reconnect with the New York Packs and Prides are a hoot. If you enjoy paranormal stories with a little of everything then this series is for you. Action, snark, sex and of course, romance with the HEA. I don’t know of a lot of authors that make me laugh out, cringe and shake my head all in one chapter, but this author is a the top of my list.
Whatever you use to read your book, free or paid, hard cover, kindle or icloud, this series is always well worth your time and $$.
Even if your re-reading them a second or third time!
love this whole series , a real hoot to read and slightly risqué , with some explicit language and deets
I love this whole series and have read these books several times. They make you laugh out loud and root for all the strong take no crap women. I would recommend this book for anyone who was picked on as a kid and had that one guy you wanted to see you as strong and beautiful. Jessica Ward never knew Bobbie Ray already saw her that way. I loved the snark and the good southern drawl. I loved this book!
I liked it a lot. I’m reading the series
I absolutely it and i would definitely recommend it.
