Loved it, could not put it down!
I liked the interesting characters in this story with their complicated relationships. I enjoyed the setting in South Carolina and the hospitality of the people of the South. A nice read and would recommend this book.
The Beach House by Rachel Hanna starts the South Carolina Sunsets series! This book had me hooked from the first chapter. After 21 years of marriage, Julie is told by her cheating husband that he’s in love with another woman. She is knocked for a loop and after he sells their home, she decides to escape and buy a beach cottage in Seabreeze, South Carolina. Life happens and Julie has many obstacles to overcome with her husband’s circumstances and otherwise.
Rachel Hanna writes a fast paced story of love, betrayal, new beginnings, and sister’s interaction which has me engrossed to find out what happens next and I sure will be getting the next book in the series!
I love books based in South Carolina. Feels like home!
This is a warm, fuzzy kind of book to read. I enjoyed it very much.
Great story of second chances and unexpected reconciliation. Loved the imagery protrayed by the author of a small island community where all people are important.
I do not like book series ( 2 ) where the first book has no real ending and the second book is about an hour long with a sort of ending.. and the same price. I might have enjoyed it, but felt cheated
Great read
Loved it I now own all of them!
Relaxing read!
I liked this book. No one really knows their future.
I enjoyed The Beach House so much that I bought the next two books in the series.
Love the book
Short, predictable. Could have put the first two together. Just a few pages past 100.
Beach read
Unusual story very entertaining. I recommend
The Beach House by Rachel Hanna is a very emotional story. Ms. Hanna wrote a wonderful story which drew me in, making me forget the world around me and did not let me go until I turned the last page. It is a story about healing, finding your strengths and using them to make a new life. It is a quick and easy read but make sure you have tissues nearby. The authors writing has you experiencing everything the character goes through the cheating husband, failing marriage, the fear of the unknown and starting all over again she makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. The story is well written and the characters are well defined. I am looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend this highly enjoyable book.
There was a lot of arguing in the book between Julie and her soon to be ex selfish cheating husband Michael, between Julie and her free spirited sister Janine, and Julie and her judgemental mother. She does find out who her true friends are. The country club ones and her mom were shallow, self centered, and judgemental blaming her for Michael’s cheating. I loved the people on Seabreeze especially Dixie who owns the cool bookstore and Dawson the contractor, who were so welcoming and supportive. It sounds like a wonderful place to live.
A clean heart wrenching romance. Sometimes life doesn’t turn out how you plan it as Julie’s finds out after 20 years of marriage and her husband leaves her. What will she do with her life after being a stay at home mother and wife all those years?
