I love love love this book. From the first chapter I knew that I wouldn’t be able to put it down until I finished. The characters were so real to me that I woke up the next day still hating Michael and wondering why Julie put her life on hold to help him. I don’t want to give away the story. This is a must read. I only give five stars to books that I want to read again.
What do you do when the life as you’ve know it ends? When you have to start all over again on your own? Julie can’t believe it. Just when their lives were starting to slow down, her husband pulled the rug out from under her. He’d been having an affair, had a son with her & wanted a divorce. Julie was just happy both girls were gone from home. It destroyed her. With the money from the sale of the house, she decided to go for her dream – a beach house. Unfortunately, reality was a lot different than the dream. She’d just realized her cozy cottage was a renovation nightmare when her mother descends on her with Julie’s estranged sister along. Can Julie deal with this all at once? When she finally starts to feel leveled out, an accident brings back feelings of guilt & responsibility. Can she continue on her current path or will she revert to her old feelings & life?
This story was an emotional journey of a woman trying to reestablish herself & her courageous path to a new life. Ms. Hanna’s style of writing has you experiencing everything Julie goes through. The utter devastation at finding her husband has strayed. The fear of a new path. The depressing reality of her beach house. The jealousy of her sister & her experiences. Her joy as things begin to right themselves. Julie’s courage & determination came through all of her experiences. Each twist & new development was met with her head up. I really enjoyed this story.
This is the first story I’ve read by this author. It’s a story of love, betrayal, new beginnings and second chances. Delightful characters and a lovely small island location.this is a cliffhanger but the main theme of this story appears to have a conclusion.
